The only person who will stop Buhari from being in the ballot paper as APC candidate in 2019 and subsequently returning as president is Buhari himself. Get that straight into your thick skulls.

You are 100% correct. The corruption in these places are institutional. Just that the previous government demonstrated no will to fight it but instead collaborated for political patronage and self aggrandizement.
Politics / Re: Why The N50 Charge By Fg Is Corruption In Itself by philips70(m): 5:40am On Jan 21, 2016
Nigerians are an impossible bunch. Do you all know crude oil, our mainstay of the economy is almost going $1/bbl? Do you want the government to close shop so you celebrate early they have failed? Even if they will have to diversify the economy will they do it with sales proceeds from sea water?

Finally, I can say 99% of you do not even have a current account. Every business man does and they are the main target of this act. Finally, the government must fund the budget whether you like it or not.

. How and where did the government pronounce them guilty. The government has done the proper thing by bringing them to the courts where they'll have an opportunity to defend themselves. The news media cannot be gagged by the government and you can't kill the court of public opinions. Are people not criticizing the government on a daily basis? But when it comes to the issue of the alleged thieves, looters, embezzlers and corrupt individuals the public should not have an opinion about them. NO

Just leave these men with sympathies for alleged financial criminals. They will be the first to pour fuel on common street thieves who they are not even sure of their involvements.

Let me help your ignorance. It's not just about defending alleged thieves on social media, you need to learn to be equipped for it.

Except you have better information, Metuh was brought in from Kuje prisons.

Uncle Phillip, nice response! Bravo! But tell us how Buhary's campaign was funded too.

You all need to drop partisan lenses to better appreciate what is going on with this moment. Me and you know very well the real monies expended on GEJ's campaign will not be more than N1b if not far less and it was obvious Buhari's consumed less. You may choose not to believe it.

The real issues here are some persons scammed GEJ into believing they were working for him and siphoned billions of Naira meant for defence into their own accounts. As we speak these people are super rich whilst he lost the elections. How do you really feel when you see these houses they bought with this money and you come here daily to defend them? Where did it touch you seeing Dasuki's son's estate whilst probably you type from a rented single room or still live with your parents?
Whenever I get the opportunity I do not fail to tell you guys this. None of these people are feeling the brunt of all they do or did. Even Buhari and his family will not suffer like the ordinary man if he just do 4yrs pursuing no one. It's the ordinary man in the streets. These people are not worth defending in any way. But you can continue, after all internet is cheap.

But know that it's not all about APC or PDP. Just quit being used.

This is no propaganda. You should know this current war on corruption Buhari is prosecuting tightens more noose on his own party. He is setting a benchmark that they will be judged with when they leave. Or you think APC will be in Aso Rock forever?
I do not think Buhari or any of his party members will want to face this same humiliation PDP members are going through at the moment. They will surely be subjected to it but the only thing that will save them is if they keep their records clean now.

You all do not really know the effect of the precedence being set today or partisan considerations are just making you blind to it. There was no difference between personal bank accounts and government accounts in recent past.

With due respect Mr TonyeBarcanista, I have been willing to ask you this question.
Please I will be very grateful if you can oblige me.

1. Are you still a member of the PDP?

2. Are you considering ever decamping from PDP to APC?

3. If question (2) is YES, hope you will be bold enough to Announce it officially?

Finally, I have read your write up, and its most regrettable that you have provided only the sources, that have collaborated with this present administration to play the JUDGE and the JURY.

If I may ask, has the FG ever given Dasuki an equal opportunity to defend itself?

Not everyone accepts your definition of being in opposition.

MTN will be foolish to pay this fine. Why should one company pay for a whole country's collective myopia and inability to diversify its economy. Nigerian youth, get brain in the new year, your apc govt are lecturing you on extortion 101 and the Acts of a government so thirsty for power but lacking in the means to rule.

You are exporting foolishness from 2015 into 2016. Have you read the rules of engagement and the conditions attached to the Sim card registration which MTN and others signed?
Did Nigeria just wake up and slam fines on them without breaking a law that stipulates certain amount of fine? Must everything be about APC and PDP to you? Wake up in 2016.

For those of you who still think Chibok girls is a scam please answer these questions.

1. Do you know Chibok is a predominantly Christian community and it would have been very difficult to conscript them into a plan of humiliating a Christian president at the time given the serious mutual suspicion and religious intolerance?
2. Don't we have any PDP member in that community who just could have not bought into the scam and spill the beans even up till date? We are talking about 273 girls! In a small community.
3. Chibok is in Borno and I know Sheriff is not a small figure and was a serious Jonathan's ally at the time. Do you also think he will be that naive not to know it's a scam?
4. Do you think the likes of Father Kukah are also naive to be scammed for 600+ days and still support and lend their voice for the girls to be found? He's an ardent Jonathan supporter.

Finally, it's very instructive that majority of those who still say Chibok is a scam are from the South and SE and it's a very huge shame my people still reason this way in this age. I know all this boil down to the fact you all believe the people from a certain region are marginalizing you and are the source of your underdevelopment.

We are entering into 2016, change your ways, reasoning and look inwards to the true source of your problems. Quit unleashing it on a people who also have their numerous problems to solve. I want to tell you their own case is worse than what you think your regions have.

Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.

Why are Nigerian youths so sentimental? Price of fuel was reduced from 97naira to 87 naira with billions in subsidy and u compare that to reduction from 87 naira to 86/85naira without subsidy. If the so called leaders of tomorrow r on nairaland then the future is far from bright.

If we use Nairaland as a template of youths as leaders of tomorrow then we can as well conclude the elders can continue leading the country. Good thing is there are millions of youths outside this forum who have lots upstairs to offer.
