@ rilla
Is the thread now about you? If the decision is hers, nothing concerns you with it, whether you think its lame or not?
Her life, her choice.

Firstly, whether you are truly nagging or not, try and bring it down a notch.
You guys really need to talk but you need to let him come around at his own pace

Secondly, the decision of no sex before marriage, whose's was it? Yours or was it a mutual thing.
Cos I feel this may have an influence on his behavior if it were not a mutual compromise.

Give him some time, and when he comes around, try and find out why he's keeping away (and u might want to talk about the sex thing too).
However, dont wait for eternity. If it takes too long for him, then he might have already drifted away long ago.

Family / Re: Do You Like Your Full Name Why Do Nigerians Have So Many Wierd Names by Phoenix042(m): 2:36pm On Jul 18, 2009
We (Nigerians) have nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to our names.
It is that which holds our identity, personality and heritage. Most Nigerian parents have a story (or decent meaning)
behind each of their childrens names.

However some parents can go overboard, giving their kids names which they cannot relate to, which they end up changing
(or should I say 'funkifying'). We are not alone in this one as even foreign celebrities give their kids names which could be unbearable such as Jason Lee's(My Name is Earl) child bearing Pilot Inspecktor. And contrary to general belief, foreigners are always curious to learn of our traditional names as it is unique.

That being said, we should be proud of our traditional names but also be careful to consider our children that bear these names, to ensure that they grow up to embrace it, not reject it.
Politics / Re: Imagine This Kind Of Nigeria by Phoenix042(m): 10:50am On Sep 15, 2008
OK. Here's what I think. I think for Nigeria to get better, everyone has to get off their asses and work for it.
From low income earners to business tycoons, paupers to big shot politicians, EVERYONE. Pointing fingers won't help anyone, as much as our leaders seem to be dragging us thru the mud, our daily conducts in our places of work can also make a difference.
Everyone wants to get "the money" at the expense of the rest, not even minding how they get it: Contractors building houses with fake and substandard products, businessmen making fake drugs for public consumption, specifically demanding and importing fake phones (or chinese phones as they call it) for large profits, politicians signing useless contracts so as to get a piece of the "national cake". The list goes on.
Our leaders have a very huge part to play in turning this country around but we all have our small roles as well, we can't deny that. We're like centuries away from all that, so the sooner the better.

Music/Radio / Re: Who's Hotter? by Phoenix042(m): 4:13pm On Jul 08, 2008
Hannibal:

Dr Dre is the hottest producer in the world.
He launched Snoop Dogg, Eminem and 50 cent. . . . . .
No matter how u look at it. . . . .These are platinum selling artistes not Timbaland's mickey mouse proteges.

That's so lame. As if Timbaland has been folding his hands since then.
Music/Radio / Re: Who's Hotter? by Phoenix042(m): 4:09pm On Jul 08, 2008
TIMBA is the biggest and the best. Here's a list: Missy, Aaliyah(God rest her soul), Justin, Nelly Furtado, Madonna, 50 Cent, PussyCat Dolls, One Republic, just to mention a few. And he has broken into a lot of genres other than hip-hop. So I'd say he tops them all.
Music/Radio / Re: Dave Matthews Band by Phoenix042(m): 3:10pm On Jul 08, 2008
I love one of their tracks: Space Between. But I'm more of a Switchfoot, Daughtry, Lifehouse fan. And a lot of others too.

Has there been any graduate who left the country in the middle of their service year (NYSC) and still got their dispatch certificates? If so, how did they manage?
