Good day, guys. I need your help.

What are the ways by which I can convincingly establish strong home ties, particularly when my employer is my sponsor?

Thanks.

Some people say that schools are required to upload your financial documents to the sevis portal. How certain this is, is unknown. Best to have the same source if funding you submitted to schools with you while attending the interview.

Also, some schools list source of funds on your i20. You may not have the opportunity to explain the discrepancy during the interview.

You don’t need the i20 to secure a visa appointment if that’s why you’re in a hurry.

Thanks for your response. You are saying that I can both pay the visa fee and secure a visa interview date even before getting Form I-20?

I have been unable to apply for Form I-20 because I am still solving my proof of funds problem with my employer. I'm not sure how long this will take. But I'll like to apply for Form I-20 as soon as possible.

Can I apply for Form I-20 with a proof of funds that is different from the one I will eventually use to apply for a student visa?

To rephrase: must the proof of funds I present to the school for Form I-20 be the same as the one I present to the embassy?

I hope to hear from you guys soon.

Hey 🤠

1. It's a feat getting to NYU and having such scholarships is a double accolade for you . Which of the scholarships are you receiving ;

Africa House Fellowship
Global Pathways Fellowship
Wagner International Scholarship
Steiinhardt International Scholarship
Tandon School of Engineering Scholarships

2. Anyways you have to send a financial ability form (bank statement / bank letter ) to NYU before you receive your Form I 20 in order to proof the ability to pay for the 3rd semester , and the copy of that financial letter must be taken to the embassy by you before you can secure your visa .

3. NYU knows that one way or the other you will have the 3rd semester fee paid via grants , loan , work etc but you must proof the financial capability to NYU and the embassy according to SEVIS agreement .

4 ** Any bank / financial statement you are using MUST bear your surname or your employer .

Best Wishes 🙏

Hello guys. I have just been awarded a scholarship to study at New York University, to begin studies this fall. But here is the rub: the scholarship only covers 2 out of 3 semesters.

I have plans for taking care of accomodation, but my problem is this: How to pay for the third semester when the time comes (fall next year), and how to prove to the embassy that I can pay for the third semester. I can't even use my bank statement because I am not earning enough in naira. What can I do?

I would appreciate if you guys could walk me through this. Thanks.

Jakumo:

My operation was carried out by a doctor whose office was at the time located on North Mountain Avenue, in Ontario, Southern California, not far from Ontario Airport.

That said, there are bound to be competent doctors who can carry out the procedure in absolute safety if you happen to live in Nigeria, though you will need to exercise due diligence in selecting the doctor to perform this simple procedure with the precision that is essential, to prevent complications post-surgery.

My surgery was done under local anesthetic, so after being given a couple of small injections on the chest, I could sit up fully conscious to observe the process, which was accompanied by a loud repetitive scraping noise, as the doctor separated my skin from the underlying tissue with a blunt instrument, while a steady stream of blood was vacuumed off by the nurse. It is vital the surgeon ensures ALL the fatty tissue beneath the nipple is cleanly removed, including the two narrow string-like structures called "tails" that extend upwards toward each armpit, along the lateral edges of the chest (pectoralis) muscle.

For week or two at the most after the surgery, the doctor will leave a tiny drain-pipe in the stitched-up cut through which the surgery was performed, to empty out fluids as the healing takes place under a light wound dressing. When that dressing comes off, and the tiny drain-pipe is extracted, there will still be some minor swelling that will subside completely in another week or so, at which point this minor medical condition that has inconvenienced you for so long, will cease to be a part of your life, forever.

Once again, do NOT pick an doctor whose reputation cannot be thoroughly investigated, because the are are risks of nerve damage or even infection that can ONLY be minimized by putting yourself in the hands of the most highly qualified and experienced surgeon one can afford.

All the best, my brother, and remember, don't allow anyone to steer you into hormonal treatment. That chit is really bad news to the human body. Surgery is your ONLY viable and SAFE option, if handled by the right doctor.

Hello. I studied the link you were kind enough to send to me yesterday, but I didn't see any information on whether or not one is to submit proof of having secured accommodation in Ireland.

How does one show that one has a place to stay in the country? Is that something I indicate in the application letter or does the person housing me have to write a letter?

I hope to hear from you.

Yes, I did; it's a compulsory requirement. You should contact your school to see if they will provide one for you. If not, you will have to purchase one for yourself.

Here's a link to a place where you can get one. It costs around €160.

VFS global is basically a company that assists embassies in the collection of visa applications and supporting documents. They don't issue visas or have any influence over the outcome of applications; they simply help with the administrative aspects of the process, making it more convenient for both applicants and embassies.

If you're ready to submit and have all of your documents, all you have to do is go to the vfs website to find a step-by-step guide on how to apply for and book a biometric appointment.

The biometric and the collection of documents are done at the vfs center.

When you write stuff like this you only show your ignorance

Pele was the first to dribble from his own box and score which went round the world

If I ask you to tell me about R9 similar goal against Compostela, can you?

Do you know of Saeed Al Owairan goal for Saudi Arabia against Belgium in 1994 where he dribbled the whole pitch, or do you know of George Weahs own?

Only speak within your breadth of knowledge and what your generation shares on Social Media, don't assume we didn't see things that our TVs popularised before social media

Bla, bla, bla. More condescension from someone who thinks you do not know football if you are not 150 years old. I'm a Barça fan, and you think I wouldn't know of R9's goal?

But that's not the point. The question is: which of Pele's goals remains a part of modern-day pop culture, just like Maradona's solo run against England or Zidane's volley against Bayer Leverkusen?

No one cares if he was the first to dribble on the moon. We are talking about his greatness/legacy/popularity/impact. You say he has more than Messi. So which of his goals are instantly recognizable by many in pop culture today?

Messi a left footed player more complete than Pele who is two footed!? angry grin

Complete player does not refer to a player who can score with his head, shoulders, knees and toes, Azonto (as the typical 12-year-old Redditor believes).

In football terms, it refers to a player who can play in multiple positions and can give you many things on the pitch: playmaking, scoring, etc.

You are the one with jumbled logic

You are conflating greatness with the popularity of your generation

Do you think Messi popularity will be the same in 60 years. DK yo know how popular Maradona was 30 years ago, or do you think Diana Ross would still be dragging popularity with Beyonce in this day and age

In Peles days, he was the most popular footballer with no dispute. Messi disputed with Ronaldo his whole career. So what are you saying?

But your logic of gauging an individual's greatness with team trophies is sound?

Messi will not be as popular when he retires. But many years from now, his solo goal against Getafe will remain a cultural meme, as will Maradona's goal against England from 36 years ago. Which of Pele's goals has dominated the popular imagination in that way? Answer: none.

You can only talk of the ignorance of your generation

Peles goal in 1958 World Cup final is better than anything Messi ever did in World Cup, and if was done in final. Go and check it out. Peles header in 1970 final is an iconic goal they use to kick off all World Cup coverage. Peles banana freekick in World Cup, The man literally popularised the bicycle kick

No one is dragging popularity with Messi in this generation. After all 65% of the world's population is under 30 and only 10% over 65

Ask your elders who were iconic in their time . You never see them drag Pele with any other player like Messi did his whole career with Ronaldo until Emi Martinez gave him the final push. Pele was undisputed and totally dominant

Everybody that saw Pele is dead or in nursing home and he is still considered a GOAT. That's eternal GOAT shit.

"Of your generation."

Condescension and ageism are not valid arguments, man.

So it is because of this generation's ignorance that there is no Pele goal that is instantly recognizable in modern-day pop culture or that is as ubiquitous as Maradona's solo run against England or Messi's solo run against Getafe?

You don't even know how to argue. You keep shifting the goal post and cannot maintain a syllogistic thought. First you said you were talking about greatness (which really is legacy/popularity) and not who the better player is, and then I talked about how Messi has more instantly recognizable goals in pop culture, and now you are contradicting yourself by saying that Pele's goal in the 1958 final is "better" than anything Messi scored in the World Cup (I thought we were talking about greatness, not who is better or has scored the better goals?)

Please read philosophy and learn logic. You clearly have a problem with maintaining a line of reasoning.

Pls who is better between Zidane and iniesta?

I prefer the way Iniesta played and he was better in some aspects of the game, but Zidane impacted more games than Iniesta did. So, Zidane.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by Phraser: 8:00pm On Dec 21, 2022
Ibime,

Also, speaking of influence/legacy, how many of Pele's goals are instantly recognizable in popular culture? People know Messi's run against Getafe and Athletic Bilbao, his header against United and the out-of-the-box goal he scored against them in '11, his freekick goal against Liverpool, his solo run against Real Madrid on receiving a pass in the midfield from Busquets. And now I think the long-range shot he scored against Mexico in this World Cup and the assist he provided in the Netherlands game will enjoy that pop culture status.

So popular are these goals that they have become memes. Which of Pele's goals is in the popular imagination like any of the ones cited above? At least Maradona has the Hand of God goal and the famous run against England.

You talk too much without saying anything. You said you have been following my arguments and nothing I have shown shows Pele greater than Messi when everything I have shown shows Pele bodying Messi from stats to achievements to trophies on a like for like comparative basis

Your problem as above is that you want to conflate greatness with who was better

Who compares who is better over different eras with different sets of conditions?

Greatness is about how dominant you are over your peers and your achievements and stats and Pele is miles above Messi in that respect. I'm not interested in who is better which is a frankly foolish argument

Mohammed Ali is greater than Tyson Fury but Tyson Fury will beat him today

Moussa Dembele of Spurs is better by far than Jorginho of Chelsea but Jorginho is greater by virtue of achievements and trophies

So don't waste our time with too much words on nonsensical arguments

Players are to be compared in relation to their era, we are not interested in time travel to see who is better.

Since your argument is about who is greater and not who is better, how then can something as subjective as greatness be measured? You say by team trophies and stats, which I don't think is a good benchmark for measuring greatness. But to indulge you: How many stats does Pele have more than Messi? (reasonable ones, I mean; not that non-penalty goals strawman). Besides the World Cup, does Pele have more trophies than Messi? Did you add freekick goals, individual awards, Olympic gold medal and Copa America? Under-20 World Cup?

Greatness is simply popularity/influence. And yes, Messi (and CR7) is the far more popular and influential footballer. He currently has the most liked photo in social media history and nearly half a billion followers on Instagram. Of course, playing in the social media era helped, as I said earlier. Now I hear Argentina wants to put Messi's face on one of their banknotes.

How many people in the street do you see wearing Pele's jersey today? Pele is the GOAT my foot.

Even if you are deliberately lazy, the 1970 World Cup is available in colour and on all media platforms

You are being deliberately foolish claiming a player with 3 World Cups, 12 non penalty goals, 10 assists in 14 games has no argument against a player with 8 non penalty goals and 8 assists in 25 games

Deliberately foolish claiming a player with 7 Balon d'Ors without playing Europe has no claim against a player with 7 Balon d'Ors in Europe

Deliberately foolish claiming a player with 750 non penalty goals in just 812 games despite playing midfield half his career has no claim against a forward with 682 non penalty goals in 1002 games

Deliberately foolish claiming a guy with 7 World Cup semifinal and final non-penalty goals has no claim against someone with just one

Pele has stood the test of time for 60 years. E no get one angle Messi fit use against Pele

"Deliberately foolish." No need for puerile ad hominems. Relax.

Messi is not the GOAT because he won the World Cup (he still would be the GOAT even if he hadn't won it on Sunday). My argument for why Messi is the better/greater player (than Pele) is because he has more longevity, is the more complete player, has better technique, and because he played and thrived in a more modern and difficult era (against players with better technique and athleticism than those Pele faced). Bonus: he has more flair and his play style is more pretty to look at.

There is now far more money in the game, unlike in Pele's era, meaning there's not much separating traditional football powerhouses from the small fish. It's why countries like Croatia, Morocco, Iceland and Saudi Arabia can now be expected to do well even against teams like Germany and Brazil. There have also been innovations in diet, sports science and technology—meaning players are stronger and faster—and tactical systems have evolved and become far more complex than they were in the 50s and 60s. There's a reason the names of many defenders from that era aren't a staple in the modern imagination. I would like to think that speaks to the middling quality of defenders and defending generally in that era—so unimpressive that not many of their names survived into the modern era.

Pele was a great footballer, but Messi did it in a more difficult and sophisticated era.

You are being deliberately foolish claiming a player with 3 World Cups, 12 non penalty goals, 10 assists in 14 games has no argument against a player with 8 non penalty goals and 8 assists in 25 games

First, put to bed this non-penalty goals strawman. Penalties are a part of the game, are they not? Did you play football in your youth or for a community club? If you did, you will know scoring a penalty demands great skill and mental toughness from a player, perhaps even more than an open play goal in some cases. Which do you think came with more pressure/stress and was more likely to have turned the momentum against Argentina in Sunday's game had either of the players not scored it: Di Maria's shot that produced Argentina's second goal or Messi's shot from the penalty spot? Anyone with the smallest football knowledge knows that the penalty kick was wracked with more tension.

So Messi should have turned down the chance to play the penalties Argentina got? Such primary school logic. I guess Harry Kane deliberately missed his against France, since penalties are so easy and not worthy of being counted as goals.

As I hinted earlier, using team trophies is not a sound way to gauge a player's football ability, for the simple reason that there are many averagely talented footballers with a World Cup and many Champions League titles to their name. It simply is the case of being in the right team at the right time, or in Pele's case, being born in the right country at the right time—would he have won 1, not to talk of 3 World Cups, if he had been born in Yugoslavia and did not play in a Brazil superteam? You are basically premising Pele's football greatness and ability on geographical happenstance. How clever is that.

Football is a team sport—it's lazy reasoning to conclude that more trophies equals better ability. In which case, Dani Alves must be a greater and better footballer than Pele since he's won more trophies than him.

While you are at it, please throw away that Pele has 7 Ballon d'Ors argument. He did not win it during his career and no one cares about whatever hindsight analysis France Football has done. History is never a linear path—no one can say for sure that he would have won that many Ballon d'Ors during his career had it also been awarded to non-Europeans. As talented as Mbappe is, he still hasn't won one at 24.

That one no consign me

Whoever is struggling for data to follow their passion and understand it should answer their father name

Some of us grew up reading World Soccer Magazine every month for over a decade which gives you concise historical breakdowns, we watched all FIFA world Cup documentaries, many Pele documentaries etc

Some people football ends at the viewing centre. Some people football is ingrained over decades of knowledge, writings and videos, knowing the key events, personalities and import of occasions in an era. These have been in my library over a decade and a half, I can't find the Pele one. I must not watch Pele live to know he was far more dominant and acclaimed than someone relying on Goalkeeper for penalties just like someone 59 years from now must not watch Messi live to appreciate him. The A in GOAT stands for ALL time, and nobody is alive for all time.

You didn't watch Pele play live, neither did you see him play in many games. What you rely on are "many Pele documentaries" and statistics (which is hardly a reliable way of gauging a footballer's ability), meaning you have no true first-hand empirical knowledge about his ability, and yet you are fully convinced he is the greatest footballer of all time?

Doesn't seem like sound reasoning to me. (At any rate, you are in the minority. Most people choose Messi).

That aside, you said all the "euphoria" around Messi would die down in ten years time. I don't think any right-minded person believes that. Have you seen the man's digital footprint and cultural influence?

If anything, it's Pele's legacy that's at stake—maybe that's why he keeps tinkering with his records on his Instagram page, aware that the world is moving on. The likes of Messi and CR7 were lucky to have played in the social media era, and there are billions of clips of them online, unlike Pele whose legacy is solely hinged on word of mouth. 50 more years or so and no one would bother about a player that played in the black-and-white era.

Seems to me like Pele was your football hero growing up and you are stubbornly clinging to the past, because I have read your comments on this thread and have not seen any good arguments from you to back up your claims.
