You mind sharing the reason for the 30,000 dollars weekly cap?
datola:
By setting maximum amount the BDC can buy per day wich appears very low (for obvious reason) demand will still outstrip supply and force black market rate up the more.

A usual, the impact might not b felt by the common man as only the privileged few will benefit from th low margin.

It would have made better sense if CBN has adequate dollar reserves.

May God help us out of this quagmire.

I am coming to Sydney on June 2. I could help and also need your help.
WestAfrican:
Anyone with a current Aus visa and is heading towards Newcastle or Sydney? I will need you to help a brother with a police clearance (report) and to bring it with you while coming here.

Your reward will be of course repayment for the police report fees incured.

Pick up from airport upon arrival (any day/time of arrival)

One week of accommodation in Newcastle area (only one week)

Survival skills in Aus. (How to make some side pocket money)

Please no time wasters.

And i will only reply to the person willing to help. It's a give and take.

I don't know about Vetasses, but Chookudi confirmed that ICAN alone should suffice for Management Accountant, Accountant (General) and External Auditor assessed by CPA (and maybe ICAA/IPA). Whichever occupation you decide to be assessed for, make sure you include your HND qualification.
favouredme:
hello all,
just wondering if HND accounting (I know this is below Bachelors on AQF ) and ICAN would yield a positive result from Vetasses for Internal Auditor? well, in theory will ICAN alone suffice for a positive assessment?

Thanks

Ok. Good news for prospective applicants.
chookudi:
Her degree was from UNILAG and it's a 4 year degree though she had her 1st year as a diploma student. (If you are familiar with UNILAG, you'll understand what I mean) However like I said earlier if you have ICAN please submit also because course content and extent to which they were taught for BSc varies amongst universities.
Also observe that I stated that ICAN alone was assessed as equivalent..if that's of any help

Travel / Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by pingu2k5(m): 9:03am On Apr 01, 2016
Was your wife's BSc degree 4 or 5 years? Maybe the syllabus you submitted for the degree made the difference because the 4-year degrees of some guys on this thread were assessed as equivalent to an associate degree. My 5-year degree (not in accounting) was assessed as equivalent to a bachelor degree, and together with my ICAN, I was assessed positively. To get a positive assessment, all your qualifications must be equivalent to at least an Australian bachelor degree and the content of your studies must cover all relevant knowledge areas.

Please clarify the above, so that those that have only BSc accounting without any professional qualifications can have hope of getting a positive assessment.

chookudi:
As a follow up to my earlier post, the most important aspect of getting a positive assessment from ICAA/CPA/IPA is your syllabus. Because you do not have to certify your syllabus (as a matter of fact you can type it out yourse and provide some form of reference) you should/can make it very extensive and very detailed. You should however make sure all topics or areas required by these assessing bodies are covered in your transcripts (Bsc and/or ICAN)

You should be fine with either test, though some say it is easier to get desired scores in PTE. Which occupation are you nominating? Is it on the SOL or CSOL? Check with your assessing authority if there is any special requirement for english test.

It means they have concluded your health examination and submitted the results electronically. You can confirm the submission here: https://www.emedical.immi.gov.au/eMedUI/eMedicalClient

Global health Sydney will review the results and update your application page accordingly. Give it 2-3 days to be updated, like Scrollmeout advised.

Fellow Nairalanders, please what does it mean when fatai Williams clinic, sends you an email saying your medicals/x-ray has been submitted electronically to global health Sydney..

Hello debsty,

Pls I need you to confirm that my EOI application is fine.I applied for 190 with NSW since Oct 2015 but nothing yet. However I noticed you were asked to apply in less than a month after EOI submission.

In my case It was the same EOI I used for both 189 and 190 application, selected NSW SS on the EOI and that's all.
Pls is that correct?I don sit down for expat forum and different people have been talking about how they have been invited even though they applied after us.occupation is external auditor and we have 65points(with SS).

489 is a provisional (temporary) visa that restricts you to live for 4 years in the regional (rural) areas of the state that sponsors you. The visa fee is the same as that of 189/190. I'll advise you prepare and try PTE again before opting for 489. Trust me, you'll get your desired scores at the next attempt.

You are right. External Auditor is on SA's Supplementary Skilled List and to qualify one has to meet one of the following:
Be an international graduate of South Australia.
Have worked in a skilled occupation in South Australia for the last 12 months.
Have an immediate family member permanently residing in South Australia for 12 months or more.
Have high points (85 points, including nomination points).

Your only option may be NSW if you cannot meet the requirements. ACT, Tasmania require employment offers.

Did you find out from ICAA if you could use IELTS General for assessment?
debsty:
aolatunde00, I seem to be in the same position as yours even though my assessment is not yet completed at ICAA,I am positive the result would be positive grin.
I have also put in for External Auditor , a pity that the ceiling was quickly reached . I am hoping NSW would make their selections quickly.
I observed you mentioned nomination from south Australia, however, I checked it but their requirements for nomination of external auditor is kinda extra. They have this main list , and an extra list (which includes external auditors) which can only be assessed if you are a graduate from the region, or you have very high points , up to 85 including their nomination points. They have about 2 others I can't remember, seems like a big hill to climb.
I am thinking I missed something on the site, which you might knw about because you mentioned that you(ur hubby) can meet SA's requirements easily. Pray, do tell.
Thanks

Cc NNBB2012, Pingu2k5 , Bellong ..kindly help out.

@living outside the capital city: you can answer yes or no. Your answer will not affect your visa condition. States may look more favorably at your application if you answer yes.

@selecting 2 states at the same time: some states, particularly SA, want you to be specific when choosing your preferred state. If you meet SA requirements and SA is sending invites now, you should select only SA.
aolatunde00:

Thanks pingku.i did some reading yesterday(including your past posts) and realized same.will definitely update the EOI to include 190 application as well and select NSW.Theres a part that asks if applicant wouldn't mind living outside the capital city,is that a yes or no answer?
Then also, can I select 2states at the same time(SA and NSW)?I say so becos nsw hasn't sent out invites for a while now(expat forum gist).good thing though is they still have 4000 slots to fill before their next financial year.
What do you think.I have looked up SA requirements and we can easily meet it.Theres no immediate rush though
Travel / Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by pingu2k5(m): 6:34pm On Oct 24, 2015
It appears the occupation ceiling has been reached for External Auditors for this financial year, except there is an error on the skill select page (link below). What this means is that no further invites to apply for 189 visa will be sent for this occupation till maybe July 2016.

Occupation ceiling does not affect 190 visa. I will advise you update your EOI to include 190. You can use one EOI to show interest for 189 and 190. When updating your EOI for 190, you will see the option to select the state you want sponsorship from. You will also see the option of "any state" for sponsorship. I read somewhere that states give preference to those that specifically chose them ahead of those that selected "any state" in their EOI.

For NSW, that is all you need to do. NSW will send you an invite to apply for sponsorship via email. Once the application is approved, you will automatically get an invite to apply for 190 visa. Check second link below for the requirements of the various states.

https://www.border.gov.au/Busi/Empl/skillselect

Thanks bellong.his EOI has been updated back to 189.want to ask a question and I hope this isn't silly.when an invite to apply is sent,is it to his email address or he gets it in his skill select correspondence?

Since you're using ICAA, check the english language requirements in the link below:

http://www.charteredaccountants.com.au/The-Institute/Migration-assessment/How-to-Apply/Skills-assessment/English-language-requirement

As per the work experience, they start counting it from when you successfully completed the core knowledge areas. Check the link below:

http://www.charteredaccountants.com.au/The-Institute/Migration-assessment/Changes-to-Migration-Assessments.aspx

I will suggest you make enquiries from ICAA before sending your application. Send them an email.

The requirements of all the assessing bodies are similar.

debsty:
Hi all, thanks for responses, greatly invaluable. Ping2uk, thanks for your response.
Two things I worry about from your comments relates to the ones on experience and ielts. On experience , I am going for the external auditor , and I have actually done that since I had my Bsc in business admin, I have got a reference letter to support this, hopefully the whole 8 years would be considered. Also I have put together all docs from ICAN and BSc as I had some 4 papers exemption, and I have also included the handbook for the bsc courses, however I don't have the one for ICAN, do you reckon ICAA would ask for that?

For the IELTS, I did the general , did they specifically ask for the academic module during ur application? Nothing on their website says this. I have a friend who also sent the general but it was returned on the basis that he did not have 7 in each section and nothing was said about whether it was academic or general. Hopefully they would not mind either as am about to complete my docs to send to them. I will let the house knw if it is accepted.

Thanks again Ping2uk, will expect your response.
Travel / Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by pingu2k5(m): 5:56pm On Oct 17, 2015
Hi Debsty, I doubt if you will be given points for your work experience pre-ICAN. You can only find out by applying for assessment with one of the assessing bodies. Package your documents well and include your BSc syllabus (if your BSc is in accounting) and ICAN syllabus.

Difference between 190 and 189 is that you get extra 5 points from the state sponsoring you for 190 and you will in return live in the state for the first two years of your stay in Oz. You need every points you can get as competition is high for accountants.

The earlier you start the process the better for you. Since you're 32 already, you may lose 5 points for any further delay. Also, you need to wrtie IELTS academic not general or the academic module of any other accepted english test (TOEFL, PTE); this is one of the requirements of the assessing bodies.

I wish you all the best.

debsty:
Hello,

Thanks Bellong for your response. Actually for the IELTS, I had 7.5 in each section except writing where I had 8 , Also I intend to still be 32 by the time I put in my application (Fingers crossed).

For the qualification, My 8 years is post BSc , 5 years of which is post ICAN. I am seriously hoping they will consider the whole 8 years , as I have been working in the same Company since I graduated and very much relevant to my chosen profession since day 1.

Thanks.
