Technology Market / Introducing OGA TAXI – Nigeria’s Premier Taxi App. by POINT(m): 6:40pm On Jan 25, 2016
We have seen taxi apps try to replace the taxi business but the latest player in the industry, Oga Taxi is trying to do something different – to automate the taxi business for everyone by giving people options that were not there before and creating a system that provides equitable fare rates for both the passenger and driver.

What is it that we love so much about Oga Taxi? Well for starters, this is the first taxi app we have seen with the coolest name yet. The word ‘Oga’ resonates with every Nigerian as it is probably the most frequently used word among Nigerians in our daily run around. If you’re Nigerian, chances are high that you’ve called someone ‘Oga’ in your lifetime or someone has called you ‘Oga’ so we think the name is a big win for the company – GOOD LOOKS TEAM OGA.

As for the services, again Oga Taxi takes it a step further by giving the passengers three ride options (Standard, Deluxe and Executive); and also gives passengers the option to either pay with cash or card. No other taxi app before now has given this much room for passengers to breathe so it is perfectly right to say Oga Taxi is a breath of fresh air in the transportation industry.

Now you want to ask ‘so how can I use the app to get a taxi?’ and the answer is SIMPLE: download the app ‘Ogataxi’ from the Google play store or the Apple store, sign up and you can immediately begin to request a taxi. It is that easy and it is completely FREE to download.

Oga Taxi is also open to partnerships with individuals who want to buy a car for the sole purpose of doing taxi work and making good money monthly. So how this works is you buy a car or if you already have an acceptable car by Oga Taxi standards, you contact the company and put your car under their management to be used for taxi business and you get paid handsomely at the end of every month.

What makes this story extremely cool and why you should definitely use this app is that Oga Taxi is the first indigenous taxi app in Nigeria and possibly Africa as a whole so this is our own home-grown product and it will only be right to support it. The founders, Michael ‘Nono’ Nnamadim and Ameh ‘Loko’ Idoko are two Nigerian entrepreneurs dedicated to effecting change in the country and on the continent.

So far the news about Oga Taxi is music to the ears as the first set of passengers and drivers who used the app during its pilot phase all have nothing but praises for the app. We are hearing good things and the company is promising to keep their business very community focused and never shift their stand on constantly tailoring the app to solving the problems of the average commuter in the country.

For enquiry please visit www.ogataxi.com or email support@ogataxi.com and here are the links to download the app: http://onelink.to/ogataxi

Travel / List Of Must Visit Nigerian Locations And Hotspots by POINT(m): 2:20am On Nov 08, 2007
Hello Everyone

I am creating a section on my website that talks about all the places that Nigerians should visit. Well, all the hotspots and sites that they should see around the world. It will include restaurants, museums, clubs etc. I want to create a real huge database so that people can go in there and look for something Nigerian no matter what city they are in.

SO if you like travel and you know your city quite well, please do me a favour and just drop a line. I would like the places all to be Nigerian oriented but African in general will do as well.

You will be doing me a great favour, please send me a line, email is talkofnaija@gmail.com

If you are interested in becoming an editor as well, send me message.

Webmasters / Re: Looking For Nigerians To Help Run A Site by POINT(m): 6:52pm On Oct 26, 2007
thanks for replying

1) i think that has been the number 1 complaint about the site, looking to change it, but the thing is everything shows up better on the black background

2) not just coders, writers, networkers, people into Nigerian events or looking to start a Nigerian/African social network, basically a site like that can explore all avenues. we have video capabilities similar to youtube, looking to launch a store, basically partners- that had something similar in mind that look to our site as an oportunity

3) I am very open to criticism, but i prefer it had something to do with content, function, structure and how practical it was rather than the design aspect. we can change aspects of the design anytime.

thanks again, please let me know whatever you're thinking

Hey onydchic

thanks for the advice, i love my homepage!. I really do, this is so hard getting critiqued and wanting to defend yourself, but knowing you shouldn't. Here are your arguments I mos def agree with.

The big boxes on the bottom- I cant change them because thats the smallest i could make the music player

Brighten text- I agree, but the site you show has a darker background, if i brighten the text it becomes white and apperars glowy like.

Slow down the image: ehhh, maybe a tad, I think it moves as slow as any other sites module.

Everything else, LOL, im not changing. I love the "overkill", sort of gives me a feeling like i learnt how to do something, I did not understand the inconsistencies you're talking about. there are 3 rollovers, 1 is using images (which are too big) and both glow green, so im a little confused but thank you, ill talk with more people and see what they think. Mos Def change other aspects of it though.

Thank you both for responding. Salvage, yes there is a forum as well. Thank you for pointing the error out to me. I do not believe it should say the "site is under construction" any more because we deleted that page, ?, Maybe its a temp internet file that needs to be refreshed. I will see what the problem is with why the forum is not displaying. but it has really been killing me to bridge aspects of the site together.

the main site, videos, and forum all have different logins! and building a bridge for both is just killing me right now.

My2cents, thank you. I agree, the image should not cover the search, didnt want to move it too far in the corner though. And I believe before I updated, your criticism of the last site was that it was too dark as well. hmm I dont know whats wrong with me, I just love the way it looks.

How about moving around the site? page loading? and all that, could you ever see yourself going back to that page?

Hey hope everyone had a better weekend than I did, sad

Anyway I have a site that I need critique on, Ive done this before and listened to what most said on here and made drastic changes. (Thank you Angel and 2cents; even though i dont like you) smiley

I understand the issue of no content will come up, but I know that part already. If you have any advice, statements, opinions please let me know it is very welcome. What i dont want to hear is "i dont like the site" without giving a reason, i will probably even dissagree with you just because I put alot of hours into this.

Oh the site is http://www.talkofnaija.com

Please let me know what you think. Thanks

raven, why are you hiding your email, ur def the first person i want to contact as soon as I make changes, you hurt my feelings in a good way. No but seriously you better still be posting on here once i make changes or ill get mad
Webmasters / Re: How Is This Site? by POINT(m): 7:53pm On Jul 26, 2007
your navigation buttons are on the wrong side, eye movement goes from left to right.  umm I like that you don't have to scroll to click anything, nice functional site
Webmasters / Re: Site Review: PropertiesWithCash.com by POINT(m): 7:49pm On Jul 26, 2007
my2cents, obviously if your working for a client then things such as fonts and colours are beyond your control. The fonts however give it a real "my first site using dreamweaver" feel. Noone that visits the site once it's up is going to care whether you used tables or not. Appearance does make up for some aspect of site building.

I also feel as simple as the look is, it really could be simplier. There are some unneccesary pages (see http://www.atlantaforeclosuredeals.com/) I think they accomplish everything you're trying to do, simply

Your navigation is spot on though
Webmasters / Re: Looking For Criticism On My Website by POINT(m): 7:27pm On Jul 26, 2007
Lol, thanks blk raven, umm, lol the google ads are staying for obvious reasons, i guess we have to make them less conspicuous. you dont think that if the bottons on the navigation are spaced out it wont look messier? and what should I allign them with? The ringtones is just part of what we're doing. if you go to the about us, you see that we are trying to do everything, (which i already know is going to create alot of problems) Spelling mistakes are a no no and thanks for pointing that out as well as the pay pal thing.

Everyone keeps saying its messy, angry embarassedsad cry

I have no idea of how to change that, smaller images but I dont think even that will solve the problem.
How did it feel when you surfed the site? or did you, please someone do it, let me know if its slow, unconnected hard to navigate, boring etc.

lol, everyone hates my colour scheme this is going to be a problem, thanks raven
Webmasters / Re: Looking For Criticism On My Website by POINT(m): 10:23pm On Jul 25, 2007
@ Blue sky

Im using CSS, i dont know how much more you can get the layout to flow, every page is the same apart from content. Same 3 fonts, same 3 colors. The brightness has been brought up before but I think its different on everyones computer, because Ive looked at it on different comps and it always looks different.

Do you mean the Naija runs ad is too big on the side? I made it that way to coincide with the navigation panel, I think its the adsense ad thats too small throwing it off.
Webmasters / Re: Looking For Criticism On My Website by POINT(m): 10:08pm On Jul 25, 2007
I think the only thing I would dissagree with you is the font size. If you think it looks busy now then it gets really messy with larger font.

yes the navigation thing is a problem, but we most absolutely have to have that banner there. we double it up for notices as well, wish i could incorporate both oh well.

The black bkg was my idea, I still love it, but it seems we catch alot of wahala for it so maybe we might have to part ways sad, thanks
Webmasters / Re: Looking For Criticism On My Website by POINT(m): 9:50pm On Jul 25, 2007
Thanks alot the both of you, but really i just wanted advise on the looks and functionability of the site, actually even better your first impression once you got on to it.
Webmasters / Re: Looking For Criticism On My Website by POINT(m): 9:25pm On Jul 25, 2007
Do you mean users get turned off from the site when they see an ad banner on the site? Im am mos def not a fan of google ads anyway, its just that the concept is would be hard to run by my partners.

And I do agree with you Seun, content is means alot, look at Nairaland, one of the most basic sites on earth, yet they have 5 new members every minute. But right now im not really worried about the content, just the looks and the function. How user friendly it is and what is just corny on it
Webmasters / Re: Looking For Criticism On My Website by POINT(m): 9:13pm On Jul 25, 2007
thanks niyyie, but I dont get it, what is the benefit of taking the ads down before I have traffic, I know Im not making anything right now, but atleast we can generate some amount of revenue, no?
Investment / Re: Investing in Nigeria by POINT(m): 8:23pm On Jul 25, 2007
Yes invest in Nigeria, Invest in http://www.talkofnaija.com Its Nigerian owned wink. But on a serious note I think everyone would invest in Nigerian Companies if the risk wasnt so high for the rate of return

lol, thanks for your statments, yes ofcourse, I love the site and how you made sure there are no scroll bars (very hard) even more the fading transition between pages. If i had to criticize and basically nit pick at the site I would try to get the image files to blend in with the background; not just the colour but the image as well. but thats just nit picking i guess
