dam4sam: You are totally right. However, I did not call his mother a fool, I cannot possibly do that. I only inferred that he is capable of doing that, since he can come on this platform and call another woman a fool. This is an online platform and people have the right to air their views even if they don't sit right. There are a thousand and one insults that I can condone and have condoned on this platform, but being called a fool is a deal breaker and I can go ballistic on that count. |

Princedapace:Marriage requires patience my brother, this can be sorted out maturedly, there are cases where fathers- in- law are the thorns too. Lastly, if love find you, you will live with that special woman and much more. Come to think of it, if you can endure outsiders, why not family members? 2 Likes |

maasoap: Where in the Post did you read that she was just staying for 30mins or 3days? How would you know? You mean a MIL will leave her house probably at 6:30am, drive for 35mins in Nigeria's early morning Holdups, just to "Say Hi" to her Son-inlaw and then drive back after staying for 10mins? You guys need an Upgrade, really. In-laws dont come and spend five minutes on Visits, they likely will sleep-over. and you cant tell them when to leave. What if it was a working day and the Couples have to go to work? That means they have to leave her all alone at home. She came at 7:30am for God's sake and it is not her first visit.. Let me give an example: What if they have just fumigated the House at that 7:30am (since they will be at work all day) and she just bumped-in as they were about going out, will she not be embarrassed when told she cannot stay and have to go back or will she kill her self with the Mosquitoes, just to prove she can visit anytime? Is that kind of embarrassment not better avoided, just by calling them to inform them of your intention to come to Visit? |

No open door policy for me o! You inform before coming - it does not matter who you are... It is simple manners and courtesy... For a newly married couple - they should be left alone to sort their lives together... I just despair for Nigerians - we are so so wrapped in nonsense masquerading as culture or tradition. They are now married and the mother-in-law and family has given away the woman and even the Bible bashers should reference the part where it says the two will leave their home and set up... 7.30am is too early and they could be very very busy and not prepared at all. She is not the man's mother in any way or shape; she has her own family and kids... I agree with the poster that says this is s woman's problem or issue - nosy parkers and controlling... |

RMoneyInTheBank:Stop this nonsense please, The couple have a life to live, even if relatives live by the street corner, the couple are entitled to their privacy. Abi is the word privacy too hard to comprehend? From this small visits, dem go know say na dry fish dey soup instead of lion meat, no do~no do dem go tell wifee dat na 50k dem dey do weekend shopping, nor be 8k wey hubby bring, like so like so wiffy go begin tell hubby how other men dem dey give their wives Dubai birthday treat instead of the miserable cake & cheap wine wey e bring come, by now the house go don turn e go be razz things! Inlaws should fu>kin know their boundaries! Your daughter is no more a girl but a woman, allow her chart her course, it will make her stronger. 1 Like

Oga na trash you dey talk. You want your MIL that's your neighbor to inform you always before visiting. Make we talk true, if you warn your wife you're not being fair on her. The last time she visited was 2 weeks ago. She's your neighbor and her daughter just marry you. She never do much abeg. Wait till the visiting is too much then you can start shouting. |
