Boko Haram is no longer fighting a gureilla war, but a conventional war. There's a need for us to change tactics. I do not subscribe to the idea of a Super camp for the military as it makes them vulnerable to attack. Boko Haram is no longer a rag tag army as we are made to believe. Man for man, weapon for weapon, the Nigeria Army is better, however it is the battlefield tactics and commanders that Boko Haram triumph. Boko Haram commanders are veterans of the Libya and Syria wars. So many times, the attack on our troops have been calculated. They attack from 3-4 directions using advance troops that can be sacrified. Boko Haram commanders staying afar from the battle noticed where there's high concentration of power and where there's weak concentration. Boko Haram then attack in mass at the weak concentration with majority of their forces. Because our troops lack battlefield discipline due to inexperienced recruits, the line will collapse and the super camp overrun. They will continue to be sitting ducks at the supercamp. The troops must also learn from the collapse of the Iraqi army in Mosul or the Sierra Leone Army/ECOMOG during the RUF uprising in Freetown. Just like the fall in Damasak, attack starts from the weak point with greater mass. Using civilians as cover, they can rapidly advanced on our troops location. With the confusion, our troops falls into disarray and retreat to the next super camp leaving the town to Boko Haram. Even if our troops manage to repel them, Boko Haram purposefully keep another unit of their troops in the rearguard. They deliberately allow our troops to pursue them and then drag them into an ambush with their rearguard troops. We have lost so many troops to Boko Haram using this tactics.
For those of us still rejoicing about the Super Tucano jets, we should be cautious as airpower has never truly defeated the enemy in most warfare. The US army learned a bitter lesson in the Battle of Iwo Jima and Saipan during the World War 2.
We need to change our approach to battle if we want to defeat the enemy. We need better battlefield tactics as well as intelligent field commanders. Our best should lead the troop and appointment must not be based on nepotism. If we can get military advisers from the West or Israel, it will be an added advantage. War has gone past dashing advances in battle, but calculated approach that will anticipate every moves of the enemies. A group of sheep commanded by a lion can defeat a group of lion commanded by a sheep. #Victoryforourgallanttroop
Your narrative is very expository. Intelligent analysis, apt solutions.

Nigeria soldiers they try oo...dieing like chicken and the government isn't even celebrating them rather they cover their death to make it look like nothing is going on
The soldiers love Nigeria more than their lives I guess.

To be a soldier is not by force. they know government is playing politics with the military and they are still fighting

I went to a police station in Onitsha and almost everyone was wearing mufti,I asked a police officer attending to me "why"
He was like haven't I been hearing about the news going on. He was referring to the killings of security agents. The new norm now is for them to be wearing mufti even at the station.

Nigeria is gone.

They should interrogate Isa Pantami and Gumi on how the intelligence on the itinerary of those soldiers got leaked to the extent that ambush were laid for 'em.

Oh , I forgot, Buhari already said he is 100% behind Pantami. Well sorry boys, your commander in chief also doubles as the commander in chief of the terrorists.

It wasn't 30. Media and their usual way of increasing figures. it was 17 soldiers including the O.C..
Shit was messy yesterday but thank God almighty for life.

The truth is Nigeria Army does not carry the war to Boko Haram due to the politics involved,it is Boko Haram that carries the war to naija army thereby making Nigeria Army on the defensive plus heavy casualties. The best option is for the military to take over this government and then wage war against BH, remember how GEJ fought Boko boys when the election was postponed, that's how it should be.

"ALSO yesterday, insurgents engaged troops at their base in Mainok community of Kaga Local Government Area, Borno State. The insurgents stormed the military base around 3:00p.m. with an intention of sacking the base to loot arms and ammunition, but the troops stood their ground and repelled the attack with severe casualties reportedly inflicted on the terrorists."

Why do I have the feeling that our military is being lured to the Southeast to pave way for Boko Haram to overrun the Northeast?
I think, IMO, Boko Haram is not a separatist group, they are not threatening the unity of the country. Hence, the focus on the East.

The only interesting thing about this your theory is contracting our intelligence to Israelis or the west. Nigeria is gone, no single general is fighting terrorism because of patriotism, bokoharam is an ideology stronger than the ideology of which Nigeria profess.

But, I pity Nigerians for being happy when innocent people who are protecting their land from the killer Fulani terrorist herdsmen are being killed by the Nigeria terrorists army and police.
