Openedheavens:You only need to evaluate your certificate for MCC as far as I know. Not your transcript. I only paid to evaluate one credential, not two. You first do source verification and then evaluation for just your certificate (they might ask for your transcript but you don't have to do a separate evaluation for it). |

Openedheavens:(Edit: Apologies! Just realised we also had points for sibling in Canada which of course made a big difference. By all means evaluate your wife's degree if you need the extra points. The rest of the advice still stands though, especially this - start bit by bit if funds are tight. Good luck) I guess you've simulated your scores already? I'm in the same position as you are, albeit a bit ahead in the process - applied at the end of last year, aged 30, medical doctor. My IELTS score was high (LRSW 9,9,8.5,8 ). After simulating scores we realised we would need only either IELTS or WES evaluation for hubby's certificate, not both. So he wrote only IELTS and we had a score of 482. Something to consider when funds are tight and you need to save whatever you can, as was the case with us. You should get high enough points, no need for your wife to be PA as others have said. Funds were really tight for us esp with the high cost of MCC evaluation. Funds were tight, was gift deed 100% (no issues with this as per GCMS notes). So start with the bare minimum you need to create a profile ie your own IELTS and ECA from MCC, then add the rest as time goes on. Good luck! 1 Like |

shadama:Thanks so much for this. I was just a step away from requesting my transcript from school before seeing this. That would have cost me #40,000. I have my certificate already and would send that to MCC through my physician apply file. 1 Like |

Openedheavens:Thank you, Shadama. I was just going to comment. Dear openedheavens, kindly take her advice. i just recently finished my evaluation. No need for transcripts or letter of good standing etc. Just open your profile, fill in the required steps, make your payments and print the necessary forms, notarize and upload. Then, inform your medical school to await the source verification request, make the necessary payment to your medical school; if possible, have someone on the inside. Once they reply MCC, you're good. You then make payment for ECA and dazzol, lol. Jisike. It'll end in praise for us all. Amen. 5 Likes |

Midex88: I have processed my transcript from OOU to WES and it took 7 months. Although it was during the time covid started. However, I think these people don't just do their jobs because my husband has been on his for the past 5 months now. We hope it all gets sorted soon, although we have a contact and we have also mailed the registrar and other people to help out. I hope this helps. 1 Like 1 Share |

floboyza: This is just a guess....... I assume they will just do a simple [assets minus liabilities (loan)] and the net will be seen as the actual POF available to you. Might be the reason they ask for outstanding debt (e.g. credit cards and loans): "The applicant should provide an official letter(s) from one or more financial institutions that lists all current bank and investment accounts as well as outstanding debts, such as credit card debts and loans." https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/express-entry/applications-received-on-after-january-1-2016-completeness-check.html See someone's experience from Canadavisa: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/rejected-due-to-student-loan.645362/ It's a tricky one.....I was going to suggest a LOE but it might depend on the lender of the home loan, the size, monthly repayments in relation to your POF. Could you use the 25% Pension Payment at resignation to pay off the home loan, this could be a plausible explanation for why it shouldn't reduce your POF....again, just a guess. 2 Likes 1 Share |

[quote author=Ebuncrown post=97920403]For LAWYERS only. CES OR IQAS I evaluated my certificate with CES because IQAS was on break. I was refunded the money I paid for my BL. floboyza: Another option...and this is a half joke....is when you get ITA and are 110% sure you are going to japa, you could decide to sell, pay off lender and add balance to POF & use for home equity when you land in Vancouver. |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by Abdomox: 5:56pm On May 04, 2021 |
floboyza: If your loan is asset-backed (e.g Car Loan or mortgage), it will not affect your application. What CIC is trying to avoid is a situation where people take personal loan from home country and run away without paying. It will seem as if they are aiding financial fraud. People will hardly payback... Hence, their leniency on asset-backed assets because the worst financial institution can do for such loan is to place the asset on lien or sell-off to recover their loan. But in your best interest, get funds that can cover your loan repayment (if personal). It's not worth taking the risk now. Edit: Just seeing you mentioned yours's is home loan. So, it shouldn't affect. |

Abdomox: Thanks for this and it make sense that is what I expect as well for home loan, I wish I can confirm this for sure base on real positive experience. I don't want to risk it. |

Good Evening House, A newbie. Please i need very sincere advice, i had never thought of relocating out of this country permanently as i have stumbled on similar migration threads in the past here on nairaland but never give it attention. But current happenings in the country has resseted my brains to default settings and I have to face the bitter glaring realities. To cut the story short I'm 36yrs old and into building finishing and as a contractor our income fluctuate due to a lot of factors. I have given my business my all but things are not coming forth as expected the uncertainties are just too much. But there is a great prospect if one can get some steady source of incoming. And raise some capital to scale considerable. I can weld both stick and argon welding and dont mind doing this as a partime job if the opportunity is available and rewarding. I have just OND in Civil Engr. I intend to further but couldn't as i was busy with developing my company. I can work on low grade jobs in the construction industry while I run certification and whatever program that can regularize me into the system. My wife went to a nursing school and did a 3yrs program and obtained an RN in 2015 and a 1yr 6month program and obtained a RM. She will be 30yrs by November this year 2021. I don't intend to close my companies as it still generating income but just need to be restructured. I can remotely manage and direct the company. And if the option is available i can be visiting Nigeria bimonthly or quarterly. My main reason to relocate is not necessarily just for money:- 1) I will gain more exposure to more better ways and concepts in the building industry which I can replicate back here in Nigeria through my company that's if there is no full blown war in the coming days, month or years. 2) My Kids will have better education and healthcare. 3) I dont want to be caught up in this country if eventually there is a fully blown war. 4) Too much uncertainty in Nigeria. No one knows what will or can happen next. 5) I need to have an alternative residence other than Nigeria. 6) My wife can work and school same time. My wife will be the main applicant. What can boost our point? Extra short courses? Certifications? Or other methods whatever that can help boost our point. Please tell me the bitter truth. 2 Likes |

Good evening everyone! I've been seeing different takes of obtaining transcript for WES evaluation — etx.ng, e-mail, and courier — all with varying timelines. It's sort of confusing. So please what's the fastest way to get it done and cost estimate? Also, has anyone gotten their transcript from UNICAL (University of Calabar) recently? How long did it take? Thanks! |

davidx20222:I suggest your wife should be the principal applicant for Canada express entry. Simulate your scores using the CRS tool. At the same time, she should try the UK immigration pathway for nurses. There's a thread for it in the travel section. For this, she will need to write ielts academics and pass their nursing exam. It works. Visit that thread. 2 Likes 1 Share |
