Hello guys... yesterday was the worst day of my life...a day I don't think my dad would ever forget, even if he forgives me... Let me go straight to the point... My father and I got into a very bitter and frequent misunderstanding yesterday night, it got so bad that after much insults from my dad, I don't know where the devil came from or where the boldness came from, and made me call my dad a BASTARD..I rained abusive words on him that night in front of my younger siblings.. I packed my bags to leave the house to anywhere away from there (to run away) but my mom wouldn't let me go...so I stayed... Watching my mom shed tears, and after much thought, I began to regret my actions... I am currently confused on what to do....I don't know how to approach my dad for forgiveness because he doesn't want to be near me.. Please guys, need advice on what to do...I don't want things to be like this for long... |

It was the same thing one of the sons of Noah did in the Bible, and he was cursed. Honor your father and mother THAT THINE DAYS BE LONG ON THE EARTH was the command. God is the creator of everyone and everything, apologize to God first and genuinely repent. Then approach your dad and roll on the floor till he forgives you. Then, you can leave the house... He'll surely forgive you, just try your best to show it in your character that you're a changed person, be diligent in your work..I don't know your age or what you do for a living but good results will always make any parent happy, also your relationship with your Dad will determine the way you should apologize, if your both are that close walk up to him and have a talk, apologize and explain things to him and also keep away from what you did that caused the fight last night.. 1 Like |

When he is calm, just go postrtate and hold unto his leg, try and show remorse by crying. Most importantly don't forget to tell him to bless you after he has forgiven you. After that tell him of your plans to move out as soon as possible. 8 Likes |

Anger is bad o!!!! Knowing when to back down when provoked is key. But then, what's done is done. Making amends is next. Your father is still hurting no doubt. Just give him a little time to cool off. On your part, let your actions henceforth show you're truly remorseful. You can better still get a good man he respects to help you plead with him to forgive you. It'll be fine. |

A lot of our parents don't listen to their children, that natural superiority wouldn't let them, the thing is most times, parents are guilty of these heated arguments between them and their grown children but since they are the parents, one cannot know more than them, but there's no way you can explain calling your father a bastard in the presence of your siblings, you went too far tbh, let things cool off a bit and then apologize for your words, you are his son, he's going to forgive you 6 Likes |

The reason why u had the guts was because u have become a baby adult,hence ur reason for challenging ur father. My advice: If u are a man above 23,pls never stay back after graduation or learning of trade of any kind in ur parents abode. Your father failed his duty as a father. For a father to even exchange abusive words with his son shows that lacks respect for himself! And for a son (you) to exchange abusive words with your father shows that you lack both respect and home training. The Solution is simple, seeks forgiveness with yourself, humble yourself before your father and plead for his mercy. Promise never to disrespect him or any elderly person and live to your promise. He made me write "Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee", 100 times and I have never ever forgotten to not lie!
