They ran some test before diagnosing him those.

I don't know the treatment he was given but i think they should be treating what they diagnose now.

What is important is supportive treatment to prevent complications of AGN like Chronic Renal Failure, Hypertensive Complications, Nephrotic Syndrome etc
Secondly investigate and treat the cause of the AGN.

If he is so sick from it then you need to ask them to refer him to a Nephrologist or find one yourself and take him there.
The same way you carried him to the present hospital you get him to see the nephrologist.
