Please advise me. I'm in my early thirties and I'm under pressure. I graduated in 2018, finished serving in 2019. I work in a private secondary school with a salary less than 40k. My mother called me few weeks ago and started talking about me going for my masters, learning a hand work, and also marriage. I just got overwhelmed with all her talks. Going for masters is not beans and bread, i may have to quit the job and rely on my parents. Now my mother is doing a course in a university ( though a government worker) my sister is also in the university, my father just retired. Initially the pressure was from my mother, now my dad just called me and talked about the same issue. I'm stucked. Please advise me.

Explain to them that there is no possibility for you to shoulder everything at once. You cannot go for masters and get married together...coupled with the underpayment.

Instead, you may need to build on yourself, and a home that will accommodate a wife.

...and once you are buoyant enough, you'll pick one at a time.

Explain to them with the calmness of the mind.

However, have you thought of making some extra money? You can be freelancing online and be getting thrice your salary in a month!

How?

As a teacher, I am sure you can write! It translates that you can type!

Sell a skill on what you do online. You'd be contacted!

Think about it.

It is he who wears the shoe knows where it pinches, don't allow anybody put you into uneccessary situation, going for the masters is good but from your write up, you lack the funds to finance it, marriage on the other hand no be child's play when you don't have much income in your hands, just be wise and follow your heart.

If you have a good result. Look for foreign masters degree scholarship and escape the zoo for good, escape your parent shadow marking you. Don't start a family here, lay a better foundation for your unborn kids.
Your innocent kids shouldn't be born into this hardship of a country.

When you get outside, you earn and run your masters degree simultaneously. You have enough to take care of yourself and also some left to send down to your parents.
As for wife, it all depends on you and situation of things as they unfold. If you're the first male child, your parent would be in haste for you to carry on the family name, but the consequence is on you, reason why you should be wise about your choice.

You can learn a skill. If you're ready savvy, it seems it easier because you only need laptop and internet connection.

There are many skills taht could fetch you money. Most importantly, learn something you have passion for. Money will come out of your passion driven work.

Concerning marriage, take that off your mind, you don't need a wife now. Be financially stable before thinking of such. You can marry at any age you desire!!!
