I'm just from the CBD(Nairobi downtown) and what I can tell you is that this project is not a joke. I don't know why there are no pics from those areas. This thing is super massive at railways as you connect to CBD just past nyayo with the new link from upperhill viaduct which also connects from that side.

Western bypass is now 90% complete. That road has 10 interchanges. All dilapidated roads in CBD have been recarpeted, pedestrians and cycling lanes fixed. Mombasa on other side is under construction boom! The 600km lapset road in now 90% done. He has done a lot.

It's possible. Winning a sport bid has more to do with supporting infrastructure - both green and social developments. Stadiums are also another factor but carries little water. Once the interior makes sense then other factors to be concidered will come outside the stadium.

Underwhelming. Kenya economy in 2014 was 40B - now it's 100B. Now use the same projection - and Kenya economy by 2030 - will most likely has more than doubled to 250-300B.

As for south africa - medium term prognosis is bad - before covid-9 - it was 1% until 2025.

If the Big Housing Agenda get off ground - those 500,000 units - will totally transformed Nairobi. Once we fix the slums and housing deficit - it will be game shot.

Thinks like paving walkways - those are easy to be done - and very cheap too.

We just need to go for China construction machine. Those Chinese can come and construct houses for 1-2M each - and Kenyans being very hardworking - will buy them off.

Absolutely. Nairobi has been lagging behind in horizontal infrastructure for quite a long, but due to the works of NMS, Nairobi horizontal is now changing face - it will take time but we'll be there. NMS need to keep up with the good work. Nairobi can now (at least) brag on horizontal infrastructure. Back then we were mess.

We are getting there in horizontals - malls and all that - BRT is going live soon in Thika road - we have somewhat fuctional railway. Honestly the gap keep reducing every year at such a rate - 5yrs from now - you wont be hear.

The retail market alone is bigger in Joburg than in your entire country not to mention even a small mall in Johannesburg is probably bigger than the biggest mall in kenya....then I haven't even gotten to the sheer number and size of other infrastructure like stadiums, shopping centres ect ect
