Infact according to USAID - ECG has merely 1.8M customers. This laughable compared to kenya power with 8m customers.

Established in 1963, ECG supplies electricity to six regions in southern Ghana(link is external). The utility serves over 1.8 million customers and employs over 6,000 people, of which 25 percent are women. Recognizing that diverse teams build better businesses, ECG is partnering with USAID to increase gender equality across the company and encourage more women to enter Ghana’s energy sector.

South Africa doesnt even have 18 million meters. Ghana total household is 8.3m - total structures 9.5m. ECG customers are about 3M. Total if we include Northern one is less than 4m.
I guess you went to south Africa to count their meters?

So now youve finally learnt that household does not mean houses but families grin grin

Dumb kid

ECG has 6 million unique customers ... You can own 10 houses and you will still be 1 customer.

Chew on this
Currently as we speak... There are 2.2 million homes under construction in Ghana

Can Kenya pull that off?

the customer base of Accra alone is 2.5 million unique customers

As of 2017 - it had only 1.5m meters. South Africa data is very reliable and credible - Eskom has 17.5m customers last I checked.

Go to page 29 - check the meters in your largest electricity utility company - mere 1.5M meters in 2017 - 1.3m in 2016.

So USAID are very right - by now - it's probably max 2- 2.5M meters and customers for ECG.

1.5 meters cannot service 10.8 million homes kiddo

8.3 million households and 10.8 million homes here.... You should be asking yourself how your country Kenya with almost 60 million people have just 9 million households with just 6 million homes.

No, you are the retarded one here.

You brought forward a news article that claims the insurgency has claimed 300,000 lives since it’s inception(Directly and indirectly).

You made a claim…which you failed to substantiate.
OK and? What is 350000/12?

If this report is true, I am not sure Bokoharam killed that number only in Nigeria. Remember they operated in four countries though. Killing 360 thousand people would mean that they at least once or twice killed more than 1000 people in a day. I can't remember hearing such and so I doubt this report. If you had said they killed 100,000 in total that would be more believable.

Yeah but you are not on ground. The best is to use your head. Even in the middle east, 360 thousand people dying in 12 years would be argued. Learn to question data, you don't accept everything hook, line and sinker. The very active period of Boko Haram was between 2011 to 2018, where they killed many and displaced thousands. Even in 2015 the group suffered some serious set backs for much of that year. Killing thousands and thousands every week (going by your data) within that time frame should have marked the end of Nigeria.
It is unbelievable that you believe in this propaganda.

What are you rambling about. Just provide evidence that your electricity companies have 8.3M - customers - or about - or even better 10M is great - because you would have connected all business (though I see they mostly umbrellas smiley flea market), schools and such.

You fail the picture test already and this unneccessary drama will not make Ghana look any better

you must think everywhere is like Kenyan with flea markets everywhere...

We beat your entire East Africa in the picture test ...

We got to learn a few things about your various countries ... Like the fact that you guys are very poor and can't afford proper homes hence the slum apartment in few areas and the massive slums.
We also learnt that you guys don't have preper infrastructure for your massive populations.

I've never seen a kid so beaten by facts such that he had to run to picture test to debate preference...

Even in that too you lost ...

How come East Africa rakes lower with Central Africa in infrastructure?
It's not just magic that those are the two most poorest regions of Africa.

Ghana alone even consumes and generate more electricity than both Tanzania, Kenya and Ethiopia combine..
How do you want to compete with that ?
grin grin

Combine the tarred roads network of both Tanzania and Kenya, it still won't reach that of Ghana..

That is why West Africa is more developed than East Africa

Then the UN is wrong. 1000 people dying every week would have made Bokoharam the deadliest terrorist in the world at the time and made those Nigerian states totally ungovernable. Some things don't add up at all.

The best way to prove this UN data is to give me at least 3 reports where Bokoharam killed 1000 people in a day in Nigeria. If you cannot give me this report, then your data makes no sense.

This is from the BBC news in 2018:

Mostly focused in north-eastern Nigeria, the conflict has reportedly left around 20,000 dead and displaced at least two million.

Are you saying between 2018 to 2021, Bokoharam killed 340 thousand people?

So what article do you want me to read here? I have read the article and I gave you the link. 20,000 people altogether were reported to have been killed as at 2018. In 2017 about 900 people in total were killed which was slightly higher than 2016. All of these are in that article.

IMF do not collect any data. Development should be visible with naked eyes. It cannot be hidden in figures. Figures and data are suppose to explain what the naked eye can see. You can tell when economy is doing great....without being an economist.

Ghana engages in cooking data - as part of it's democratic experiment - it appears every gov comes in cook data - looks good - and exit. Meanwhile Ghana continues to look like a cattle kraal.

I have examined electricity access and water acess - and I found it way below what is stated. The reason is simple. You can ask all your electricity companies to provide you with list of their customers. If it doesnt equal to about 8m - that is 100 percent of Ghana household - based on census of 32 million divided 4 people per household...then you got a problem.

And what is the problem - cooking of data - electricity access in kenya is defined as someone having electricity right in their house - in Ghana it's a community - if you live near electricity pole - you're said to have access - because theoritically you can apply and pay for it - but you havent.

You are naive and stupid at the same time, You mean the IMF who was actually effective exposing corrupt allocation of government funds in Kenya zoo, and stabilizing India’s economy, to name some few does not collect data and figure? How can you be so unintelligent?.

You can't tell a good economy with picture , that is abnormality from your thinking pattern, looking at harrare in zimbabwe , it appears more developed than many of south african states including Nairobi yet we all know development has seized in zimbabwe so is palestine , Damascus and some few. Development is not in cosmetic but fact which can be found in figure and data .

There is no single Evidence that says Ghana is exposed to cooking data apart from your diahorea brain, Ghana development is not hiding anywhere except a glaucoma eyes of yours .

You can't examine Ghana electricity , your intellect is not trained on such, on common economic report you fumble, how will your feeble mind handle such a mechanism that is above your intellect?

Ghana has made remarkable progress in electrification of its towns and villages both in absolute terms and as percentage of population. This is fact. They are data and figure for this .

A single fact checking on "Global Tracking Framework" issued jointly by the World Bank and the International Energy Agency will have educate you better. And you can also check on the kind of methodology they used. The report as well explains the dramatic increase in demand-supply gap and consequent increase of energy in Ghana.

Stop comparing kenya zoo to anything Ghana, when Ghana start developing , your country was still doing mau mau. The first africa union conference of kwame nkrumah in Accra gave way to your independence.

If you are speaking of indirect deaths, then those have other factors to be considered. You were dishonest in your initial post saying Boko Haram killed 360 thousand people. You should have said Boko Haram has killed about 30,000 people in total and an additional 330 thousand have died indirectly as well due to the poverty and hunger in IDP camps. None would have argued with that.

Ghana has resources such as gold. I believe they have more resources than Tanzania so it is not far fetched to believe they have a higher GDP or output than Tanzania. Probably Tanzania is less corrupt than Ghana and many African countries.
