iamoyindamola: Well, the club management in their wisdom has sold the clowns and left the manageable ones like Holding, Chambers, and mari. We've seen how those brought in to replace the clowns have played thus far compared to those clowns. Instead make u acknowledge the stability our change in guard at the back has brought us, u are struggling to acknowledge a midfield u once ( no not once, twice or thrice) acknowledged to be neglected and not given priority. I'm sure u were waiting for us to be on some losing streak and then u will come up with the trolling mantra "defence wins u league" that u + Akin and kokane have adopted as Ur motto on this thread. As of today our most important players are Ramsdale, Gabriel, Tomiyasu, White, Smith-Rowe, White, Tavres, Partey and Saka ( in no particular order) yet none of these players is a midfielder that was brought in after your midfield agenda started. 2 Likes |

BlueRayDick:Lmao When was Gabriel bought, when did we start the midfield argument |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by BlueRayDick: 9:53pm On Nov 07, 2021 |
iamoyindamola: I believe this is a rhetorical question. Gabriel was signed the same period with Partey. Yet u believe the club prioritised defence to the detriment of midfield when both signings happened. |

iamoyindamola: I don't know if it's lapse of time or u just chose to forget delibartely, but let me refresh Ur memory a little bit. Gabriel joined arsenal in spetember 2020, he won Arsenal's player of the month of September 2020, October 2020 and december 2020. This right here has rendered Ur agenda null and void. At this point I feel u just have a personal agenda against him. I know if arsenal miraculously win the league and Gabriel is awarded POTY u will still find a way to pin his individual achievement to how Smith-Rowe, Partey and Odegaard step up their game to deliver the award to him 3 Likes |

It's been a long while that I have been out their reading as a guest rather than login like a regular that I used to be. To God be the Glory though and I would like to say you guys have been top notch in keeping the flag of Arsenal fans flying rapidly and always. Kudos to you guys indeed for your high up the sky indebt analysis and contributions always. I must confess and say that I am happy to be back after getting inspired by our undisputed number one in the person of Aaron Ramsdale and then back line quartet of Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel and Tavares especially that I believe has made the Left full back position permanently his now with his less than 5 full start for Us-The ARSENAL FC already except if Mikel Arteta thinks otherwise that he would come back with Tierney after he has fully recovered from his present set back against LIVERPOOL after the international break indeed. Once, Thumbs up guys for keeping the house rolling and flowing with commentaries |

Akinbahm:For this one time I can agree with you. We now have a lot of confidence. But confidence does not come from Alaba market. It comes from consistent success. This success is the product of a stable defence. Throughout this period of winning, only 4 players have been consistently involved... Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, White, and Gabriel. Even Tavares looks exceptional alongside them. We must give it to the defense. |

Spy360: Since you want me to go through that chain of midfield over defense bla bla I will troll with you. Bro, the defense are now composed and or stable but to me (not convinced yet so, I reserved my comment on the entire defense till after Liverpool game). Leicester match, we pressed them really high for the first 20minutes and got 2goals without sentiment the defense tried that day particularly Ramsdale, Gabriel, Tomiyasu and Partey for their comportment at the back. Imagine that Maddison free kick land inside net nah that day kokane, sod and some go come for Arteta head fully because the energy wey Leicester go pose on our head that day kasala go burst open fowl Yansh. Crystal palace match, immediately our midfield and attack went blunt Palace took advantage and went 2 goals ahead of us without the likes of Zaha and Eze despite scoring before them but immediately we introduced Lacazette there was change upfront and we started to push for an equalizer. The power of a deadly midfield and attack will have shut Palace hope. The player started stop playing because they cannot go toe to toe in attack so as not to be weary off and be penalized later. Aston Villa match is another good example of good midfield and attack, they continue pressing hard and got 3 solid goals which destabilized Aston Villa attack and gave us more stability and or confidence. Tottenham match, lemme fem cause everyone stood out so, no much comment. All in all, kudos to them all cause they all played like a team which I wish Pepe can also learn and stop his useless individual football as if e b one Messi and the defense department for keeping us in the game despite our attackers being worn out in some matches. 1 Like 1 Share |

Akinbahm:When you say press high you think it's attack? No bro, it's the defense that presses high. Ourr high press has been working because of the pace of Gabriel and White. Leicester- defense soaked up pressure when midfield and attack went home. Crystal Palace- two errors from your beloved midfield cost us two goals. One from Partey, and another from Lokonga. I blamed the manager anyway. Aston Villa- stable defending through high press Tottenham- stable defending through high press The point is, a stable defense gives the front guys the impetus to push forward without fear of conceding. This is especially true for a club as Arsenal. This is the confidence you spoke about. Let's not be too arrogant but humble enough in accepting that not all our reasoning/opinions will work. May be tomorrow it will be midfield but for now it's the defense that must take credit. |

Akinbahm: All u are have posted is just whataboutism and nothing else..... Let me ask u, why do u like to major in the minor? Here u are doing everything possible not to give the defence full credit they deserve by asking what if Zaha and eze had played against Palace? What if Maddison's freekick had not been saved by Ramsdale etc. Why not just focus on th3 events that happened from the beginning of the season to this point? You and kokane actually made it a point of duty to troll Ur own club each match day in Ur bid to say " I told u so". The same energy u used to do that "defence wins u league" campaign, can't u just use it to acknowledge the defence u so much down played it's importance? Can u just use that same energy u used in typing the posts below acknowledge the defence as well? Akinbahm: Akinbahm: Akinbahm: Akinbahm: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Huh? You guys are suddenly downplaying Gabriel's solo importance at heart of defence and use media hype of VVD to support this? And Saliba? Nawa o. VVD is hyped but not Overhyped. He's done alot of great solo performance on both attack and defending and i don't see why he should be used to justify an overhype argument cos the hype on him is justified. Haba. Attack wise, he and White were involved in two goal in two games. Its not solely cos of Aaron that we aren't conceeding pls. Give everyone their deserved hype. |

Our Defence is doing a better job than the Midfield so far in this unbeaten stretch. I don't know which buy is needed to change that but it gats happen. I don't care who will be sacrificed. The Palace game is an eye opener for how the Midfield will far against a stronger opposition (palace weren't, but they were a better test). That sit back was an eyesore and displayed the tactical superiority of Vierra on that night. For injury time draws in EPL this season, Arsenal are the luckiest team. Confidence is highest right now though and while the Liverpool game is already an L to me, I'm thinking Arteta would take chips out of Moyes tactic books and do the needful. Antonio-laca Zouma- gabriel Tavares on TAA and Salah? Realest test. One thing is sure, TAA can be beaten easily. Make Sambi no near that XI o. If Henderson or Keita pounce, a goal will come out immediately of his snail indecision. |

Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by BlueRayDick: 11:02am On Nov 08, 2021 |
Akinbahm: Well, whatever the outcome of the match vs Loserpool is, this team has done well for itself up till this moment and the the majority of players responsible for that good run of games are the defenders u choose not to reckon with. Even if we win league sef and our defenders make EPL team of the year I know say u no go still acknowledge them. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by Kbs468(m): 11:32am On Nov 08, 2021 |
To be Frank with you all, the defence has been doing a marvelous job of late, hence responsible for our clean sheet displays and lesser goals being conceded most especially Aaron Ramsdale that has stood knee and shoulder high up and above Leno in the goal keeping department, else we wouldn't have been praising the defence by now |

I guess we all learn everyday. Following yesterday's Saka goal that was ruled offside, I just couldn't help but do my own research to really understand why that goal was ruled offside. Well, it seems the VAR wasn't wrong afterall. So it is established that for a player not be offside, there must be at least two opponents behind when a pass is being played to him. In fact, it used to be 3 opposing players that were required in the past before it was reviewed to 2 ( the goalkeepr inclusive) The rationale behind this is that ; Without the offside rule, long balls could be kicked directly towards team-mates placed in the opposition goal area and would prove to be too effective, thereby reducing the element of skill and strategy in football games. I decided to share for educational purposes. BlueRayDick: Saka was clearly offside. FIFA law state's that a player is considered offside if he or she receives the ball while being “beyond” the second last opponent Our assumption has always been that once a player is not ahead of a player/defender he is on-side, but in Saka's case; a defender is the last opponent (not the keeper), the keeper with the rest players were before Saka, so he got the ball while he was ahead of the the second last opponent. To make it simple, there must be at least two opponent players ahead of you before you can be rule on-side. Saka was ahead of only one. |
