U are asking me what i can offer in my marriage? Lol. Any woman who lives with me wouldn't want to leave. Do u know why? I'm fun to be with, yes. I'm So, romantic and cool to be with. I'm comedian too both online. I know how to put smiles on people's face no matter how moody they may look.
How about money? I'm talking about marriage...

See how funny you are! You want an African woman who's submissive but you don't want to be a proper African husband...

Your example of respect was a girl kneeling down... How did I assume wrongly?

If you mean being polite, sure... We should be...

But it's almost as of you want women to go about kneeling down to strangers who are men simply for the sake of their gender... undecided

I'm sorry... No one gives me anything for being a woman... Don't expect too much for being a man...

You're equal to any woman out there...

With most Nigerian men being being yahoo boys and kidnappers, which of them deserves respect? undecided

You're so annoying!

Our culture, dictates that men most provide...

Personally, I would never take money from a man... Yes, I'm a hot-headed, independent feminist... grin

But if you want a woman who by African standards is good...(submissive)...then by the same standards, you most be a provider...

Don't blame me...blame the culture...

Lol. In a senerio whereby the wife is richer or earns higher than the man, should that be a good reason for she not to respect her husband? It's because u have been hammering on the man must be the provider.

Don't gerrit twisted. I do not mean that women should go abt kneeling down to every stranger who are men. I only used that girl as an illustration how ladies should relate to their spouse or husband.

You're going about in a circle...

This thread of yours has nothing to go with marriage... But you're using the girl who knelt down for you as a role model for women to imitate... undecided

Your point is that she's respectful...

I replied asking why...

And your answers have been that men deserve respect for being men...

I refuse to accept that... I believe we each deserve respect for our actions not for our gender...

Now:

You say in a marriage, the woman should respect the man and he would love her in return...

My opinion, respect is earned... If a man proves to be deserving of his wife's respect, he would definitely get it... And he must respect her in return...

You say that women should be respectful...for example, they should kneel while serving their husbands...

I'm asking, why should they?

You say it's in your culture for a woman to do so...

I say in your culture too, a man MUST provide for his wife and not the other way round...

Now, your say if a woman earns more than her husband, is that a reason for her not to respect him?

The answer is YES! According to your culture, a man who earns less than his wife isn't deserving of respect...

This isn't my personal opinion...

But the only thing a man can provide it money... That's what makes him a man by African standards...

The thing as woman can provide is children, and she's also meant to build the home...

If a man can't perform his only duty, of what use is he?

Remember, African standards... The same one you judge Nigerian women with... Yet you can't follow it.

The reason men are dominant in their marriages... It's because they are the providers... If a woman takes this role, she becomes the dominant figure in the marriage... So the man is obligated by YOUR CULTURE to kneel down to her... Get it?

You can't select the Western values that suits you only...

If you want a 50/50 relationship, then don't expect a subservient wife... In the West, women have so much authority...

But if you want women who would kneel while serving you, then you most be the sole provider...

Again, not my personal opinion...

This argument... Gender expectations...

I never liked the aunty thing. In my family we call each other by name. Even my sis that's about 8yrs older than me, na by name.

So to me, it doesn't mean respect. But as you get older, it's inevitable that people will call you aunty.

U don't know our culture. I have heard ur point, for a wife to respect her husband, he must be the sole provider before she must respect him as her husband and head.

And everyone I knew here, they've all forgotten me... So I doubt if I'm the one...
