Random post : lol I'm doing my own GDA now but my categories are different and totally my own opinion.

Best agency (in terms of making money) : SM Entertainment, I swear I can't count the number of agencies sm has bought in the last 2 years, both music and acting agencies, the man just keeps acquiring and he's smart by going for small, "not really heard of" agencies with big talents.

Best agency (in terms of improvement in sales, as in people who weren't making much money but suddenly had the best year in 2020) erm I don't even know their name but the agency in charge of the Boyz, like I don't know how it happened but those guys really pushed the Boyz this year and it paid off. Shout out to sf9, they also had their biggest sales this year which is just weird lol cos I feel their previous albums were way better than this year's but I guess sky castle and extraordinary you is finally paying off.

Best agency with the most unproblematic people : Play M, I can't remember the last time I heard any wahala thing about the celebs on this label, both actors and artists.

Best ceo : Jyp. I don't know if it's cos he's also a promoting artist but he really has the best relationship with his artists, he respects their creative decisions and that's really huge. I love how he also keeps in touch with people who have left his agency, just a no hard feelings guy. I love him


Worst agencies :

1. Fnc : this is not about money or music but about humanity, fnc is not transparent at all, I know agencies don't have to expose everything but these people are the worst, they do things without even informing fans, just like that 3 people left cherry bullet, no explanation, no reason. Kwangjin left nflying under questionable circumstances. Mina was bullied for years and nobody "knew" or did anything to stop it, then it became clear choa and youkyung were also bullied and that's why they left aoa, someone is in prison, I bet more of them deserve to be. At this point I really only wish the best for nflying, and sf9, poor p1harmony and cherry bullet, I wish they could escape that place before they become tainted. Cnblue, ft island and aoa can go to hell for all I care, they've made enough money singing plus all of them have mostly transitioned into acting sef. I just want fnc to close down until they learn to prioritize the mental health of their artists cos they prioritize money too much.

2. Jellyfish : destroyed gugudan, destroyed vixx lol, wasted that boy that was popular from produce x101, verivery doesn't know what kind of music they want to do, recently they're just all over the place musically.

3. YG, I have no words but we thank God for the love sick girls.

That being said, on a totally unrelated note, everyday I look at the cast lineup for snowdrop and I'm just like if this drama doesn't turn out epic, I will lay curses on everyone involved, from jtbc down to the makeup artists

LOL I had planned to do this exactly on the 28th of December so it'd be a year but I'm super bored (decided to work from home today but lewl nepa said nope biatch and generator said don't even think about it, wait till it's dark, fuel is expensive, so I've literally just been staring at the ceiling since morning and wondering why I'm still in this country). So anyway why not do the 2021 version of this. So...

Best agency (in terms of making money) : still remains SM and still for the reasons listed above.

Best agency (in terms of improvement in sales) : still remains those the Boyz people (lol still don't know their agency name) and it's weird cos unlike 2020 when they actually released good music, 2021 was a very bleh year for them music wise but somehow they still get massive sales. Korea loves them too much.

Fnc also gets to be part of this, thanks to sf9, their sales are pretty impressive and Fnc is finally promoting them especially in the acting department, they're literally in almost every web drama and rowoon and chani are killing it in movies and dramas. Even though cnblue is basically old school in Korea and are no longer generating massive sales there, they are huge in Japan and so sales be plenty and they still put out solid music so a win. Nflying's audience has always been sort of like a niche and while they aren't making worldwide sales or whatever they are making the sales that is equivalent to their target audience so....

Best agency (in terms of promoting artists) : this is obviously big hit but I'm not going to include them cos bts is already such a huge deal so.... Anyway

High up: they are doing really good in promoting stayc musically, I do wish they'd also put them in dramas cos they have solid actresses in that group

Brand new music : they have always been great at promoting their solo artists but this year they really went all in for their group ab6ix. They released some good music and they really pushed them in web dramas. I don't know why they're not paying as much attention to Lee eunsang tho, he already has the popularity from produce x101, anyway he's in idol the coup and in a new web drama so maybe his turn to shine has come (if you ask me, I say kill the solo idol idea and make him join ab6ix like starship did with yeonjung and wjsn but whatever)

DSP: Honestly you'd think dsp would do terrible since April and kard has not released new music in a while but they are using son dong pyo's popularity from produce x101 and the strategy is working Sha. For an agency with not many active celebs they are doing well.

Best agency with unproblematic people : still play m, although chorong was accused of bullying this year, it was never proven and even though apink has not made music in a while, their other artists still manage to bring in the sales

Also on this list is pnation, aomg, h1ghr and antenna music

Best ceo: regardless of what happened with got7, Jyp is still there, he still maintains close relationships with everyone that has passed through his hands. I don't know how it went wrong with got7 but oh well

Added to this list is rain and tiger jk. Their artists might not have the popularity or sales but you can tell that they put their all in promoting them. (Rain needs to give ciipher better songs Sha cos Mtcheeeew)

Worst agencies :

Fnc : lol yes I know I praised them earlier but are they still scum, lol yes. They have tried with promoting sf9 and nflying, cnblue and ft island are basically self made artists at this point, they have taken charge of their careers so I can't even drag Fnc too much for their sake but what about aoa, hyejeong, chanmi and seolhyun can literally make music together, sm promoted only yunho and changmin as tvxq and they prospered, what is stopping Fnc from replicating this, they just left the girls in limbo. At least seolhyun is lucky enough to act dramas, the other 2 are just there forming YouTube stars. Fnc is wasting cherry bullet, some members just finished girls planet, now is the time to strike hot and release an album, MBA at least they're pushing some of them into acting so its not so bad but please promote them well. I don't know if they want p1harmony to be their bts cos why are those ones doing random variety shows in the US when they could be releasing beautiful music and getting love from their home country first, they are talented, have good songwriters, why won't you promote them well. I can count the number of variety shows they've been on. It's annoying

Jellyfish : the only improvement they made from last year is that they are now pushing Kim min kyu in dramas and web dramas, every other thing remains the same, a darn shame cos jellyfish used to be something

Cube: well I feel like this one is just bad luck, yes they were annoying when they threw hyuna and her boyfriend away, treated 4minute like afterthoughts and fought with beast lol but they got better and then boom clc died, btob members are enlisting so sales are meh, their new group lightsum is good but theres 100 other girl groups doing the same style so.... And then their super group (g) idle are down one member due to bullying wahala and i don't know when next they'll release new music

My (hopefully) unbiased opinion : I love woodz song. Very playful, love his tone throughout the song. And can I just say this boy is a COMPLETE artist and the world needs to stop sleeping on him. He keeps reinventing himself in every song, note not album o, song, every song and I'm just like sir! Take it easy on us.

Black pink's song is actually a lady gaga song and they were featured and I love it. It had all the essence of Lady gaga and still showcased black pink very well which is pretty much a miracle when kpop artists collaborate with American artists.

If I had to score woodz would get 4/5 and black pink 5/5
