Partners in the house, how do you handle rentals from a driver who was unable to work because he was blocked by bolt.

The way I see it, getting blocked for whatever reason is totally avoidable and in my opinion, you have to be really careless to get blocked for whatever reason at all.

The driver wants me to waive payment for the day he was blocked and I have refused. Am I being harsh?

PS: The agreement does not say anything about being blocked.

Good afternoon my bosses. I appreciate and thank you all for your explanations yesterday.

Please I got one more thing I need clarifications on.

So I took a trip on 1.9 surge from Unilag ( fac. of science ) to Ecwa guest house@ Montgomery road, yaba. And the rider had already changed the address back to unilag so I can take them back. But I ended the trip and asked them to re book the ride so I can take them back.

1st trip ended @ 1,400
2nd trip back to unilag ended @1,100

Total :2,500

Is this the right procedure? Or I shouldn’t have ended the trip since it was booked on surge 1.9 which will likely make the final price higher ?

Does not seem like you lost much but since it was a 1.9 surge trip, I would not have ended it. Would have just taken note of all stops and collect my money from Bolt if they mess it up

If this is the first time you better waive it unless you want to turn your driver to Hoodlum driver and he will drive ur car into swimming pool to recover money for that day.

I believe normal weekly agreement should not make a driver work 7 days a week, then if the block is just 24hrs, he should use the 24 hrs as his rest day.

And don't mind Bazz01, this is dry season so no reason for God to call on Noah to make an arc.

I think you re wrong here. We all know that minimum trip fare is 600. I did a couple of such trips yesterday and the calculation for each shows that bolt charges more than 20 percent now.
Pearl1910:

The point is, when u collect 1k, is the trip normally upto 1k?
Cos Bolt is now charging Riders extra 3% which u collect from Rider but it's not for u. So when they deduct it from ur balance it seems like they are charging u more than 20%.

So check your distance and time and u will see ur money isn't upto 1k

This your submission is wrong and was born out of sentiment... We get blocked, either temporarily or permanent for different reasons which at all times i tagged it infantile, but be that at it may, your decision depends on the driver persona , you and the Agreement... But ensure your decision is rational enough

Morning.
I currently drive a 2007 model. Owned for 11 years now.
That car is very very reliable and good on gas.

2012 model should be an improvement with better gas mileage especially the stick shift.

Worry about getting genuine honda parts and fluids.
Thanks chief, I think I will go for it though I don't know the cost of parts.

"Taking into consideration all circumstances during the trip, would you, yes you...è wó...would you have paid more, if you were the rider?".... If yes, then report to Bolt

He has other means of making money na. Is it only Bolt he is using to work?
Plus if he gets blocked in all platforms, then that's not ur problem, he should carry his cross.

He can delay payment till Tuesday or Wednesday but he will pay his money complete, then the upper week he reverts back to Monday or Tuesday payment as d case may be.

Or Let him use that day as rest day. One day shouldn't affect rental delivery

PS: The agreement does not say anything about being blocked.

Don't say so menh... Account get block for several reasons and not everyone has the expertise and experience you've to avoid it besides you can be count unaware.

Now, to the main issue you're currently faced it this is what I use to do then I was renting.

Just once I found myself in a situation whereby my both accounts where blocked, i mean both Uber and Bolt but luckily the day my Uber was blocked Bolt unblocked my account the following day. Immidiately my account was blocked I quickly informed my Oga since I already informed him I used just Uber while we where drafting out the agreement for the rental. But this block and unblock came during the week end, Friday and I'd not even raised his 25k by then hoping to do that during the weekend. I just informed him against the next week knowing fully well I would need to do a Bolt inspection the next week as well.

So what i did was to hustle out his money any which means so I'd to go to Ojota garage and load Ibadan and coming back I already had his 25k, rested on Sunday then went for Bolt inspection on Monday.

So what am I trying to say? All renters should endeavor to always be transparent and honest, have all app available to work but if one is blocked make do of the other if no one available then take the car to your partner and hand over the keys otherwise you'll pay for the days car is with you no stories because every driver on ehailing is expected to have all apps readily available to work with should cases like this arises. Any driver that has just one app is definitely not serious to work.

So at kanuisagoat, find out if the block is 1day, 2days or 1 week then look at his part records, relationship, performance and maintenance culture with you and your car to make your decision but if the block is permanent and he can't find another means to keep paying you after one week grace then collect your car from him. If he's lucky car is still available after he has sorted himself out, fine! Otherwise, move on. You're running a business not a company.

Because I usually get trips to airport but based on the rules and all which I don’t know yet. I don’t usually accept such trips

And also, is Ikoyi a safe place to go as a new bolt/Uber driver ?

I still don't understand why bolt can't make their payment self explanatory like uber. That will solve all these problems but no, their dubious ways can't leave them.

See how explanatory this breakdown is.
