I booked a ride yesterday on Bolt from Lekki Phase 1 to Wemco road, Driver called and asked if it's cash or card. I said it's card, but if u want cash, I can cancel and request again when u get to d location. He said I shouldn't worry, he will change it to cash from his end. I say how are you going to do that?, he said I shouldn't worry he will do it. In my mind I say this driver wan scam me to collect cash then bolt will debit me again. Na them wey dey give drivers bad name. Leme see d magic he wants to do.
Driver arrived picked my staff and moved almost reaching Lekki gate, guy never start trip. I called him, Sir u haven't started your trip, please start it. He said he has started it. I waited for about 2minutes again. At this time he has reached tollgate. I called a second time, I said Sir, I am a Bolt Partner too...first and foremost u want to do me paid waiting scam by not starting your trip till now abi?
Secondly, u can't change mode of payment when request has already been made so what exactly r u upto??
The guys voice disappeared grin but When he found his voice back he still insisted he has started d trip angry I was upset and just cancelled it from my end, called my staff to tell him to get down from d car.
Baba called me back and started apologizing. He tot I was a babe. I said I have cancelled d trip already, theres nothing I can do, except I request again. He shouldn't worry Bolt will pay him the distance he has driven already. (But ofcourse d criminal didn't start d trip so he is getting nothing) I asked him where he is, so I will request him again he said Kofo Abayomi. I requested again but it was picking someone else. I called him and told him its picking someone else, then he suggested we do it offline, so I told him estimate is 3k to 3,400. Will he accept N3,500?
He started grumbling he moved from Lekki and there was surge there that he was supposed to get about 5k. Then I reminded him that it was out of his own making, he wanted to cheat me, but he met the wrong person today. So that's his punishment, if u will go start coming, if not leme request again, d choice is yours.

Some people are just undying, unrepentant scammers...This guy has done only 130 trips...he obviously isn't a new driver. He has been blocked already and is either using someone's else's account or has registered again with a fake licence.

As much as we complain about bad Riders let's ensure we are good Drivers too

Too bad, such driver will still come and complain bolt took his money. You for just report the driver, he will still do it again.

Uber 2% in the mud.

The 2% is not applicable to every driver oh lets get it right. Me now I'm on 10% com after 6trips this week so I do not know how many I'll be placed on by next week.

What do you mean by he wants to cheat you with paid waiting?
Are you not the one that said any driver that does that is shooting himself on the foot?
Are you not supposed to be happy that he forgot to start the trip? At least when he gets to 7up and start it, he will be the one at loss.
Thought you said bolt have fixed their app from bugs, and things like this can't ever happen on Bolt?

So what's this claims you're spewing here?

But why are you all forgetting the part "the driver claimed he will change a card trip to cash from his end, something even the rider can't change after making request "

Paid waiting on 1.9 surge means a lot. So it's common sense to just cancel and reorder

Once you take a rider to airport, just move as soon as the rider drops, don't stop anywhere in the airport, for any reason, don't stop anywhere in the airport please. The day I stopped just to properly close my booth a rider didn't close well, I was rounded up by those airport watchmen and parted with 10k or so (can't remember again).

If you don't want to blow empty from airport, go and pay and wait at car park, but I never did that since Ikeja GRA is just by the corner and you can easily get another trip driving to GRA when you drop your airport rider.

May the the veterans can give you better tips

Good luck bro

I could remember dropping off a rider I picked up from iponri to FAAN Quarters, close to the junk yard where those ugly tow gangs, wearing ragtag ankara , sweating profusely do lurk around.

I was so exhausted, naso I just parked underneath the "mango tree" grin (not really a mango tree, but a tree..just to make story sweet) right in front of Legend hotel....I flex the chair backwards to take 30mins Nap.

All of a sudden...I heard "gbra"... with long chains , pulleys and wrenches... Ah! Ah!! ...say wetin happen? Before I could say Jack, dem don dent my newly painted bumper, jacked my car and pull it into their yard which is just less than ½km... I was marvelled...

Dropped the car, deflated the tyres and off they go...in search of another "prey"...
Without fair hearing...they'll submit the keys to one willow and drive off

Their action further lay credence about my disposition about Country, Nigeria.

I will never forget, what a friend told me several years back, when he came back from world University games in Portugal - he said that.... (apparently)
if you really wan' know how a Country is Governed, or state of affairs, just visit the country Airport...

Is not good to be a citizen of this country - Nigeria and not being a dual nationality of an advance Nation... E no good...but sad reality is, we all cannot be dual citizen... Its a privileged

You don't want to find out at your own expense, yet you refused to agree with people that have 1st hand experience.

Why not allow him do his mind so you can have 1st hand experience and know how to defend yourself next time?

You can even request price review as a rider if the price turns out higher than the estimate and bolt will refund you.
So what're you really afraid of?

I did, and I remember u said if I had said this from the beginning, nobody would have dragged the matter again. (Paraphrasing)

Secondly, I don't like stress in my life d extra 5h or 1k is not what I will be calculating and sending messages and doing followup for. Better to avoid it by insisting d driver starts d trip. If u remember, that's what I kept hammering at the Riders that claimed a driver did this to them. Always insist d driver starts d trip except u have ulterior motives.
