The thing is, it's real, I mean the spiritual is real. The unseen realm. I mean it's very very real. I mean, why do atheists think they have the capacity to judge the evidences one who claims there is God has, atheists believe they have the intelligence, neutrality and warts and all to assess the evidence deciding whether there is God or not. It's just like when the Big bang investigation came up and it was proven that the world in fact had a beginning, it didn't sit well with some atheists as they placed their faith in the unproven multiverse theory, so I read, which in itself is not objective manifestation. Confusion if you ask me. I believe atheists are like blind people, it's like telling a blind man to behold the beauty of Mona Lisa and the fine art. An atheist has the pre conceived mindset of "I don't believe in the existence of a God" because there can't be any evidence. So any attempt to prove otherwise is just a passing wind. In this country Nigeria and beyond, most especially Nigeria where the supernatural influence is almost relied on. Some out of a pre conceived mindset choose to feign ignorance with the amount of info on the public domain. I mean why don't you get out there and find the truth. Instead of asking, seeming humble yet full of pride questions like "Proove there is God" every time when you've already set your mind to never believe anything that comes as proof. The only proof I can show you is the spiritual, and at that I will pray for you. Most encounters with God are not like a Road to Damascus encounter or a Slash of the ear encounter. It's an overtime build up of faith. LordReed: |
Re: My 8 Year Old Son's Debate With A 7yr Old Atheist by Nobody: 9:27pm On Dec 15, 2021 |
Interesting. The question goes thus: If a person(Non-Christian) was born in a Mountain, somewhere secluded from a civilised society. Lives there all his life, what happens if the person never hears of the gospel? Okay. When it comes to God’s revelation, theologians divide these into God’s special and general revelation. His special revelation includes the Bible and Christ. These are both direct and special means of God revealing Himself to us. General revelation, sometimes called natural revelation, consists of what God has revealed of Himself via the natural world and moral conscience. Two passages in Romans further explain general revelation: “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse” (Romans 1:20) and “the requirements of the law are written on their hearts” (Romans 2:15). Taken together these passages claim that everyone has an inherent knowledge of God, that this can be clearly known from creation and that everyone also has a God-given moral compass. Is it true, then, that “those who have never heard,” really have no idea of God’s existence or of their moral responsibilities? Biblically speaking, it’s not true. “Those who have never heard” have heard something and they do have access to key information about God. They know that God exists, that there is a moral standard and that they have broken this standard. The Case of Cornelius Second Peter 3:9 reads, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” God desires that everyone come to Him via Christ, but not all will. We, however, do not have access to a list of who will respond to God and who will not. As such, biblical Christianity places a great deal of emphasis on missionary efforts. Romans 10:13-15 underscores the significance of Christian evangelism when it comes to reaching those who have never heard: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” In other words, Christians are actively spreading the message of Jesus so that “those who have never heard” will indeed get an opportunity to hear. Various missionary stories support the fact that often times those who have never heard who have responded to God’s general revelation are later visited by Christian missionaries. The Bible, for instance, records just such a story about a man named Cornelius. This man knew about God, but not about Christ. Because of his sincere desire to know God, Cornelius came in direct contact with the Apostle Peter who told Cornelius about Jesus (see Acts 10 for the entire story). https://www.focusonthefamily.com/faith/what-about-those-who-have-never-heard/ Dranoid: |

StJohnofChrist: And you know this how? I mean, why do atheists think they have the capacity to judge the evidences one who claims there is God has, atheists believe they have the intelligence, neutrality and warts and all to assess the evidence deciding whether there is God or not. I have the capacity because you are asking me to believe and I don't believe things just because you said so. I must be able to examine whatever it is you are presenting and so far you have offered nothing. You are misinformed. The multiverse is not a theory it is a hypothesis and it was not the reason some people initially rejected the BBT. In fact the multiverse hypothesis doesn't even preclude the BBT so you are very wrong on your analogy. Besides what has BBT or multiverse got to do with showing us that black magic exists? I believe atheists are like blind people, it's like telling a blind man to behold the beauty of Mona Lisa and the fine art. Sure, I am blind to the imaginations in your head. You cannot record them on video and give me to see. An atheist has the pre conceived mindset of "I don't believe in the existence of a God" because there can't be any evidence. So any attempt to prove otherwise is just a passing wind. All you have to do is present the evidence. You keep claiming you have evidence but you have as yet presented nothing. In this country Nigeria and beyond, most especially Nigeria where the supernatural influence is almost relied on. Some out of a pre conceived mindset choose to feign ignorance with the amount of info on the public domain. Not interested in your unhelpful superstitions. Your country is in a mess that all your worthless black or white magic has done nothing about, including your many worthless prayers to your god. If indeed your black or white magic exists we should have seen it beat back the guns of the Europeans when they came but alas, superstition can't beat cold steel. I mean why don't you get out there and find the truth. Instead of asking, seeming humble yet full of pride questions like "Proove there is God" every time when you've already set your mind to never believe anything that comes as proof. Get out where? You tell me where I can find this black magic. The only proof I can show you is the spiritual, and at that I will pray for you. Most encounters with God are not like a Road to Damascus encounter or a Slash of the ear encounter. It's an overtime build up of faith. When ever you are ready to deliver this spiritual let me know. But while you are doing that ask your god for my full home address lets see how real he is. |

Tetehjewels: Lol, funny guy. You brought this funny story to Nairaland to make your son look "smart" in the eyes of your fellow religious folks, and when people started pointing out the fallacies in your son's defence for the existence of a god, you're claiming that they're hurt over your son's "feelings". Meanwhile, you're the one who brought this story here for public consumption. Nawa. ![]() I don't know if you were expecting a resounding "praise the lord" from religious folks here, but I'm sure it's not what you had hoped for. Anyways, I'd commend you for allowing your son to be open about topics like this, rather than shutting him out from it and his friend who doesn't share the same belief. 1 Like |

No matter what I bring to you, you'll end coming up with another explanation to Aid your belief in unbelieve. Whatever that means. Even if there were to be a giant finger writing in the sky "God exists". You'd come up with a scientific explanation to "help" your unbelief. Your knowledge on what an hypothesis is and a theory is is not accurate. LordReed: |

Nope You are free to call Him sky daddy or Earth Stump for all I care. It just shows your pain when you try to insult something or someone you claim does not exist. It's either somewhere in your subconscious you so wish God was real so your insults can possibly get to him and hurt him so you would feel better but alas it's your pain and this pain will never have any gain.
