spot on

Aged 23, Nwakali is highly rated in the second division of Spanish football.

Aged 23, Aribo was in the third division of English football, but the lunatic wants me to write off Nwakali because of age simply because he wasn't born in England? To make matters worse, this same slowpoke was praising and clomaring for the invite of a deadwood like Chuks Aneke 28, last year on the premise that he was a good youth talent at Arsenal.

oga relax, aribo being 24 or 60 when he was with Charlton is no liverage nor consolation to nwakali’s inability to reach his potentials yet

Nwakali needs to sit up fast cus the aribo u used as an example is miles ahead of him now and tipped to be in the epl soon

Can't honestly argue with Komekn on Nwakali. The boy's only name to fame is that Atletico game which many just don't want to accept was an end of season kick about.

Kelechi can still come good and I have no qualms with him being invited to AFCON camp to fight for a shirt but I won't hype him like he's the second coming of Pirlo/Nedved/Modric rolled into one until I begin to see consistent top level performances.

I just want creativity in that midfield, whoever brings it, I'm fine.

You don't know how happy I am that Emil Smith-Rowe is doing well for Arsenal to further increase the number of AMs for England to make Eze's chances for England slimmer. I even pray Dele Ali gets his mojo back. Our midfield is an eyesore, I want improvements

Aribo didn't score yesterday but was crowned man of the match

6 matches, 5 man of the match awards, simply brilliant

Bros, I don’t know about Belgium but I have watched practically every single game Ndidi has played in Leicester City and the only time they used him as CB was when almost of their CBS: Evans, Soyinchu, Fofana, Amartey, etc were hit with injuries.

That doesn’t mean that CB is his natural position or that he even plays that position well. It was a makeshift thing, out of necessity. And I will definitely not have him as a CB in a team where we have natural CBs: Balogun, Akpoguma, Omeruo, Ekong, Ajayi, and Awaziem.

O pari

do4luv14:

Actually this is not the first time he will be playing CB, if you follow his club football well, you will know he had played a number of times there, both in Belgium, and England

beside he started out as a CB

This is why I'm not against him coming to camp. We are nothing to right home about when it comes to creativity. Who knows someone might have a Sunday Mba moment for us.

I just don't want a Sunday Mba situation, I want a somewhat long lasting stability not makeshift or stopgap. Mba na my village boy, but truth be told he didnt last on the scene hence his AFCON heroics could be termed a fluke(no disrespect to the great son of Isuikwuato). I want something better.

if you read his post well, you will see were he said new bois, no old guard, the only one you list among that is new, is Apkos, beside it's good Ndidi can play as a CB

So the writer is Arsene Wenger, Mourinho, Pep and or Zidane. So we should now take his word as the complete verdict for outstanding performance.

You are being delusional.

The Segunda Division is VERY VERY LOW in quality and the money is a joke. At one stage the entire transfer budget of the Segunda Division was almost on par with Fulham transfer expenditure in the Championship. That should tell you something.

Nwakali is near 24 years old and people are still talking about youth football exploits of 7/8 years ago, that's ludicrous. Nwakali is OVER HYPED by so many here, he failed in the Dutch Eredivisie, failed again in the second by tier Eerste Divisie.

He was so resoundingly astounding , he went to Porto B and couldn't even be a regular. He is now in Huesca and remains in there , WHY ❓ Too good

These are not the attributes of outstanding quality but the opposite.

When he went to Arsenal , Saka, Okonkwo, Folarin, Nelson, Akinola, Emile Smith, were in some cases 12/13 years old . Now look at those players today.

But he couldn't cut, he was simply not good enough. And don't say discrimination and racism Arsenal has more Nigerian players in the reserves than any other team in Europe.

Football is a very short term career and time waits for no one.

The segunda is very very low in quality ,so the championship is very very high in quality ?

Stop putting money and football together ,because Fulham is richer than all segunda teams doesn’t mean they are better ,Kome Dey apply common sense at times

I might agree with some things you said about newkali ,but you need to stop talking nonsense about other leagues

Do you know Fulham is richer than some Laliga and seria A small teams ? But trust me they aren’t close to any in terms of quality

You are capping too much

I feel like you’re being too harsh on him. Yes, he hasn’t fulfilled his potential shown at youth level. But, to dismiss an African player talent simply because he hasn’t made it big is incorrect. There are lots of factors that contribute towards a player excelling at the highest level and that includes discipline, Luck etc…. Talent isn’t the only requirement… the only time, that I was privileged to watch nwakali at senior level for Nigeria was vs Athletico Madrid and he was the best player in that game. Mind you, it was a game that included Thomas partey, fernando torres, correa, borja, juanfran.. yet nwakali was the most valuable player in that game and scored a world class goal… my point is that, we shouldn’t allow the European teams to narrate and dictate our players.. if a player has a history of performing for his country and he isn’t impressing at his club, continue using him.. in the case of Nigeria, we only have iwobi or Aribo to certain extent as a playmaking option and we have nothing to lose if our coach tries out another player at that position.. if nwakali flops, he wouldn’t be invited while if he performs, a solution would had been found

With regards to the Athletico Madrid game, it was a friendly game taken very seriously by the B team national players but not particularly by the Athletico Madrid players.

That is the perspective. So I would NEVER use that game as a singular basis to determine player quality.

One game doesn't make a player. It's the continuous consistent outstanding performance in your club day in and day out over the season that determines your quality.

In this regard it's your outstanding performance in club and league that will be the basis for national team selection.

Nwakali is not the only Nigerian player in Europe, he get too much attention for doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. It's a disservice to other players who are doing much better than him but never mentioned.

With regards to your point in the bold . Nwakali has Zero history of performing for Nigeria beyond historical youth football.

Again with regards to the bold. That's a bigoted double standard. When Europeans recognise our players and they win accolades we concur and join hands to praise them. However, when they are not given accolades we question the Europeans and call them biased and unable to appreciate our players.

There are players who have played at the highest levels and just dropped off . For a host of reasons such as Jordan Ibe, Berahino, Yannick Bolasie, Ravel Morrison, etc . Do we still hold on with delusional Nostalgia instead of facing the reality of failure to live up to promise. Remove emotive sentiment and stop making FRIVOLOUS EXCUSES for mediocrity and failure.

There are many truly young Nigerian players doing much better in Europe than Nwakali. Maybe we should call in the host of Nigerian origin youth players in Arsenal who have succeeded where Nwakali FAILED to the SE that would be much more reasonable.

Finally , since you do not want the implied biased Europeans to dictate who is good and quality among our players. Let them therefore REMAIN in Nigeria and play local football and become world beaters from our local leaguei.

You are making the mistake of assuming more money equals to the quality of a league.

The English championship is not some treasure trove jaw dropping talent if not you would have been seeing them in other leagues. Can you imagine a player in Reading or Bournemouth getting signed by say Dortmund going on to win the league in his first season?

How many lower English league players have done a Kante?

Bro all this about nwakali is bullshit nah media hype...if we are to be logical he no deserve to be in team B, forget the midfield woes we are facing...his athletico Madrid performance were fluke apart from the goal he did nothing even his brother had a better game than him ( yea he had better work rate and tracked back alota time yet his attack wise he was dope ) and if we are to judge by goal Mohammed goal was sweeter and better ,the composure was too much for a defender of that caliber as in I was so much shocked since that goal we didn't even hear about him, he deserves a call up if we are to invite player by that particular he came 20 mins to the end of the match and his presence was felt and I hear some he (nwakali) was the MVP, the same match Kelvin gameiro and Correa dominated most of this assertion is inspired with coke and meth no apologetic feelings.
