We keep on going from stupidity to mediocrity and back to front. All these project are cash cows were politicians loot the country. Most of these hydrodams are not utilized at optimum level more often during the drought and dry seasons. They hardly reach one-half its installed capacity even at highest water level.
All thses amount spent can be use to resuscitate the Oji River power plant in Enugu state and revamp it to up 6000MW capacity or perhaps build another one in Okaba, Ankpa Kogi State. These two areas has abundance deposit of coal.

Most of the powe stations in China, India, Pakistan etc run efficiently on coal with least capacity being around 5,000 MW.

But siting such gigantic project in the East is no no thing for the government because of their hatred for the region. Even the Kogi, being a minority. Below is some coal power plant in China..

So that as Siemens is working on their own part of the system, we will be gradually increasing the 13,000mw available with the addition of 3000mw hydro, and other projects.

A time will come when we must start planning to increase the Siemens 25,000mw distribution capacity to 50,000mw so more investment can be attracted to the power generation sector.

it will be idle....generate as much as you like....if you cant distribute it,then its senseless and waste of money....

nigeria should stop buildin new plants and concentrate on distribution....

Hence the first priority is expanding our transmission and distribution capacity as planned under the Siemens deal

Get it through your head it is not working because of mismanagement who have you seen travel the steel Billet all the way to the North. Look at Ghana and what the foreigners did in their aluminium industry where the aluminium was mined that is where they built the industry. Nigeria's case where the steel Billet come from is about 250 km away from where Elijah Steel plant is. It is known as illiteracy. You are very shallow minded and cannot reason what somebody is saying what I am trying to say is there is not enough of water in this area is that is why time and Memorial again the past stations have been set back. Big generation capacity of mambilla power station was supposed to be 5,000 megawatts but because of inadequate water it has been reduced to less than 800. The best areas in Nigeria in rainfall are in the south but we build the dams in the North. Chad basin is 80% empty all the rivers and lakes in the North are drying up and you are building dams in desert where there is not enough of water. The waterway is 1/4 of kanji Dam you can see in the picture the waterway is very small

Nigeria is currently generating 13000mw when you add this 3000mw it will be 16,000mw. At of the 13000mw we are only distributing less than 4000mw making about 9000mw idea. So yes it is the distribution that is the problem and that is why Nigeria contracted Seamen to come and increase our distribution to 25000mw to accommodate our 13000mw+3000mw and additional mw which is being worked on.
