You're correct, as I did share and referred to a verse as to how it ought to read, earlier didnt I, but anyway, now I'll out of interest, ask you, what name is mentioned of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit then?

What you and YourFavEvangeli dont realise is that 'in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,' is a latter addition to the original Matthew 28:19, inserted to replace the short 'in His name' to the long 'in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,' version

The correct reading of Matthew 28:19 originally appeared as seen witnessed in and/or by Luke 24:47

Why did the apostles baptise with water is because of one word; amnesia

Apostle Peter, like I keep saying and keep prefixing the word Apostle before his name, in Acts 11:15-16, forgot what Jesus said, in Acts 1:5 and so changed what is meant to be an exclusive Holy Spirit baptism to an operating under the law water baptism ritual.

Note that, its not in the doctrine of our Lord, Jesus Christ, our Saviour, God Incarnate, but it is the doctrine of the apostles (i.e. teaching as taught by the Apostle) they were continuing in doing

YourFavEvangeli, recapitulating again, 'born of water' is referring to the amniotic fluid, when Jesus used it and mentioned the phrase in John 3:5, when He answered Nicodemus, by saying:
Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

John 4:1-2 (KJV) When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
(Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

If the baptism isnt the same water baptism, will the bible use John the baptist as a measure of comparism.

While Jesus was on earth, the disciples of Jesus under the instructions of Jesus baptised even more people than John the Baptist with the same water baptism in the name of Jesus.
Jesus baptises with the Holy Ghost, we baptise with water by immersion. The apostles didn't deviate after Jesus ascended or suffer from amnesia, they simply continued what they have been doing which is water baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus

Peace!

Acts 11:15-16
15As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, just as He had fallen upon us at the beginning.
16Then I remembered the word of the Lord, as He used to say, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’

Of course, there is baptism by water (i.e. operating under the law) and baptism by the Holy Ghost, just as there is physical circumcision (i.e. operating under the law) and spiritual circumcision. I know which ones are better, loll.

You quoted Acts ch 11 vs 16 as a proof that Apostle Peter and the other apostles suffered from amnesia. But this is a false statement.
Peter while recounting what happened at the house of Cornelius told the elders in Jerusalem that after the gentiles (Cornelius and his family) received the Holy Ghost without baptism, He (Apostle Peter) remembered the word of God that we (anyone that believes) will be baptised with the Holy Ghost.

joxxy01 help me ask NNTR ...
If truly Apostle Peter was baptising with water due to Amnesia, tell me why Apostle Peter still baptised with water again in that same house of Cornelius after remembering the word of the Lord...

See Acts ch 10 vs 44-48 (Acts ch 10 is where the action took place, Acts ch 11 was Peter narrating to the other Apostles)

Acts 10:44-48 (KJV) While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. (This is where Apostle Peter remembered the word of the Lord about how the gentiles will be baptised with the Holy Ghost)
And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

You can see clearly here, Jesus baptises with the Holy Ghost, we baptise with water. Jesus baptised them even before Apostle Peter deemed them fit for water baptism. This further shows that even if you have the Holy Spirit, you should still be baptised by water immersion in the name of Jesus. That is how to be born of the water and the Spirit.

Be careful whose doctrine u listen to... see how carefully people twist and cut off the word of God or even quote chapters that dont exist just to create a false narrative or doctrine.

Be wise...

YourFavEvangeli:
John 4:1-2 (KJV) When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
(Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)
Do you see the Jesus himself baptized not underlined.

If it were something to be continued, then He would have set the precedent, but since it soon was going to be cancelled He didnt bother directly baptising anyone with water, especially not when He is the One taking away the sin of the world

YourFavEvangeli:
If the baptism isnt the same water baptism, will the bible use John the baptist as a measure of comparism.
All ceremonial washing whether, Jordan baptism, the water baptism and/or cleansing with water as done for purification purposes, are all carried out while the law is still in operation (i.e. operating under the law)

Our Lord, Jesus Christ, our Saviour, is who your measure of comparison should be. Now, if John the Baptist, where to be here, present on this thread, he would not only admonish you but will also have corrected you too, that you ought to follow Jesus, not his example, especially in the different dispensation of grace, we currently are living in

YourFavEvangeli:
While Jesus was on earth, the disciples of Jesus under the instructions of Jesus baptised even more people than John the Baptist with the same water baptism in the name of Jesus.
You are again going on an unable to substantiate spree exercise. I'll give you a chance to provide your proof of Jesus explicitly instructing any body to specifically carry out water baptism, and if you fail from being unable, to, tend kindly retract that falsehood claim

YourFavEvangeli:
Jesus baptises with the Holy Ghost,
As promised and as to be expected, this is one hundred and ten percent correct that Jesus promised us a baptism with the Holy Ghost.

YourFavEvangeli:
... we baptise with water by immersion.
You baptise with water by immersion because you are operating under the law and you are sectarian

YourFavEvangeli:
The apostles didn't deviate after Jesus ascended or suffer from amnesia, they simply continued what they have been doing which is water baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus
1 Corinthians 1:16-17
16(Oh yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas, but I don’t remember baptizing anyone else.)
17
For Christ didn’t send me to baptize, but to preach the Good News
—and not with clever speech, for fear that the cross of Christ would lose its power.

Exactly they continued with the old school ritual, but when remembrance kicked about what Jesus said, Apostle Peter admitted his amnesia and never after that would you read him continued in that old school and carnal practice.

Now, if Jesus said Holy Spirit baptism in Acts 1:5 and Apostle Peter turned round to say water in Acts 2:38, then who until Acts 11:15-16, had amnesia then?

Apostle Paul, upon the meeting with Jesus in a vision, as you can see in 1 Corinthians 1:17 and 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, where he summarised the Gospel, has no mention of water baptism as a prerequisite for anything.

Now, if Jesus categorically said Holy Spirit baptism in Acts 1:5 and Apostle Peter turned round to say water in Acts 2:38, then who, until Acts 11:15-16, had amnesia then?

Apostle Peter, at Acts 11:15-16, is saying, with hindsight, I shouldn't have carried out water baptism, when the baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire in the name of Jesus is enough.

Apostle Paul, upon after meeting with Jesus in a vision, as you can see in 1 Corinthians 1:17 and 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, where he summarised the Gospel, has no mention of water baptism as a prerequisite for anything.

All it further shows, is that, you're practicing and advocating a strict observance of external forms and ceremonies of religion or conduct without regard to the enabling power of the Holy Spirit.

When it is said to be baptised with the Holy Spirit and fire in the name of Jesus, you are still hellbent in baptism by water immersion in the name of Jesus, that's a ritual carried out while operating under the law.

The Apostle Paul himself you are mis-quoting was baptised with water by Ananias after encountering Jesus on the way to Damascus.

John 14:26

whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf],
He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.

Acts 11:15-16
15As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, just as He had fallen upon us at the beginning.
16Then I remembered the word of the Lord, as He used to say, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’

Matthew 2 vs 38 is totally and theologically wrong because the cancellation of sin, is not done in the name of Jesus, but rather remission of sin happened on the basis of the shedding of Jesus' blood.

Now watch this, if Jesus clearly stated Holy Spirit baptism in Acts 1:5 seen up there, on whose authority is Apostle Peter gone to say water baptism in Acts 2:38 gives remission of sins, when I John 1:7 clearly says 'and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin [by erasing the stain of sin, keeping us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations].' and Hebrews 9:22b supports that truth by saying 'without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness [neither release from sin and its guilt, nor cancellation of the merited punishment].'

Equally why would Philip, the Apostle, also slip on this theological banana skin of operating under the law, by carrying out water baptism for the Ethiopian eunuch? It simply is because of Acts 2:42, that is they continually and faithfully devoting themselves to the doctrine and instruction of the apostles, and not of the instruction of Jesus. They were operating under the law. Smh.

Jesus, in Acts 1:5, said Holy Spirit baptism but Apostle Peter, in Acts 2:38, drifts away from Jesus expressed instruction, about Holy Spirit baptism, to go prescribe to water baptism (i.e. Acts 10:47–48)

Apostle Philip too, succumbed to pressure to facilitate water baptism against Jesus' expressed order of Holy Spirit baptism. They were operating under the law. Smh.

It wasnt until Acts 11:16, that Apostle Peter came to himself, which is, at the point when John 14:26 got fulfilled. It's at Acts 11:16, that Apostle Peter remembered that, its actually Holy Spirit baptism what Jesus taught them and not water baptism (i.e. Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’)

Apostle Paul, because of the at Acts 19:4-5, made a u-turn departure from operating under the law, with at I Corinthians 1:14, literally saying:
'I thank God I didnt water baptized any of you'

Ephesians 4:5
There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

TruthinAction, the combination of your disgraceful attempt at butchering John 3:6 and YourFavEvangeli prooftexting verses of the bible against one and another under a self deception of having some sort of understanding that is false just shows you both belong to some bizarre cult

Yes, there is one water baptism : Baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus. Which is what the apostles practiced and preached right from the days of Jesus. Read John 4 vs 1-2, Acts 8 vs 36-38, Acts 9 vs 18, Acts 10 vs 47

But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

NNTR Be kind enough to show us in the bible where Apostle Paul had this meeting with Jesus where Jesus told Paul that water baptism in Jesus name isn't a prerequisite for anything.

Paul himself was baptised in Acts 9 vs 17-18 after his encounter with Jesus.

All the questions I asked, you couldn't answer one with the scripture. What a preacher...

Matthew 28:19 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

See the verses you quoted. I pasted them here for everyone to see that it has no relationship with your claims.
John 16:12-14 (KJV) I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

I have shown where Jesus told us to baptise people in Matthew 28 vs 19
Matthew 28:19 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

I have shown you where the disciples of Jesus baptised more people than John the Baptist (while Jesus was on earth)

The scripture you quoted says nothing about the method of baptism. I pasted it here for reference.

You're not mature in understanding, to know that revelation comes in stages, thats what 1 Corinthians 13:8-12 as admitted by Apostle Paul, is saying.

Yes, Apostle Paul was water baptised, but after getting the full revelation, it was a practice he didnt continue and something he was proud of that he didnt do for many other people. Smh at you.
