YourFavEvangeli: Jesus sent His disciples into the world to do two things:
1. Preach the gospel 2. Baptise those that believe Mark 16 vs 15-16 Every other thing is a bonus. Do you believe in Jesus? Do you believe in the resurrection? Do you believe in the rapture? Then you must be baptised.
It's written: He that believeth and is baptised shall be saved... Mark 16 vs 16 If you have the opportunity to be baptised and you refuse to do so, you are in disobedience of the divine mandate.
Baptism is like an announcement, like a heavenly paperwork for your salvation. Baptism shows that you have accepted that Jesus as your Lord and Personal saviour and you are switching from the old life to a Christ filled life. It's an announcement to heaven that you have buried the old you who was headed to hell and you have been ressurected as a new man.
2Chorinthians 5 vs 17: If any man be in Christ, he's a new creature, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new
It's a switch from the old foundation to the foundation of Christ. Baptism is a formality that breaks the legality devils especially foundational powers used to oppress you in the past, baptism breaks ancient inherited convenants. By the law of God, the person who came out of the water is a new man, the old man has been buried.
Have you been baptised? If no, why? Why wasting time? Why permitting the devil to fight you? It doesn't cost money. The only qualification according to the Bible is: He that BELIEVETH. Do you believe in Jesus? Are you up to the age of accountability (12yrs)? You can be baptised today or tomorrow even, it's really simple, reach out to your pastor or any Bible believing church and be baptized.
Have you been baptised? If yes, were you baptised correctly? Acts 4 vs 12: ... For there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. That is the name of Jesus. Only baptism in the name of Jesus carries a convenant because Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and NO MAN can come to the Father except by Jesus. John 14 vs 6 The key to salvation is the name of Jesus, so when you are immersed into the water, the pastor must decree that you are being baptised in the name of Jesus, that name must be mentioned, that's the key that will open the door to the new testament's convenant. The name of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost is Jesus. The apostles all baptised in the name of Jesus. If you were not baptised in the name of Jesus, I'm sorry but you need to do it again, you need to get it right.
You that has been baptised in the correct manner, do you know that you have been set free from foundational curses and yokes? Do you know that the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death? Romans 8 vs 2, the devil will take advantage and still bind you because you don't even know that you have been set free. Now that you know, take back your possession by force, make personal confessions with your mouth, decree that you are baptised and therefore you are free. Tell the devil that you know that he's a thief and a liar and he has overstayed his welcome, command every existing convenant and enchantment standing against you to break and believe it when you pray. You're like someone who has a million dollar inheritance and still doesnt know it. When you realise it, you go and throw out anyone illegally possessing your inheritance. The impostors will occupy and lord over your ingeritance because they know that you don't know you own that inheritance. When you finally know and come to tell them that you know, they'll deny it, call you names, but when the chips are down, you'll see they have no official document over that inheritance. It's the same in the spirit, evil generational curses, sickness and diseases, yokes, demonic attacks have no place in your life when you believe and get baptised but until you realise it, they will keep staying there and keep oppressing you. You have to be baptised correctly, realise the implication of your baptism and enforce your heavenly court order on the illegal occupants of your life. Know your right in Christ and go tell those illegal impostors that you know your rights now and they have to leave. We overcome the devil by the blood of the lamb and by the word of our testimony Revelations 12 vs 11. Your verbal confessions are highly important and neccessary Colossians 2 vs 1 - 15 Right from the beginning you have been dishonest in your original post, because Mark 16 vs 15-16 that you prooftexted and concocted a lie with, has no mention whatsoever about water baptism. YourFavEvangeli: 1. I have showed you Matthew 28 vs 19 in the bible where Jesus ordered baptism but you said that Jesus didn't mention water.
2. In John 3 vs 26 and John 4 vs 1-2. The disciples of Jesus carried out water baptism of many many people even more than John in the presence of Jesus Christ himself, being supervised by Jesus himself. 1. Did Jesus Christ Himself personally do any water baptism, hmm? 2. Did Jesus Christ specifically, mention water baptism to anyone to do, hmm? YourFavEvangeli: 1. NNTR, why didn't Jesus stop this water baptism in John 3 vs 26 and John 4 vs 1 - 2? It simply is because, it is the dispensation of the law that was in operation YourFavEvangeli: 2. Answer this question since u said that the apostles were performing water baptising out of disobedience: Luke 20:4 (KJV) The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? I reiterate that JTB water baptism, just as every other water purification or water cleansing ritual, though rubber stamped from heaven, does not take away the fact and truth that its operating under the law and not under grace YourFavEvangeli: 3. I have shown 3 scriptures where Jesus ordered and supervised water baptism being done by His disciples, show us one place where Jesus commanded not to do so It is a big fat lie saying that Jesus specifically ordered water baptism and a bigger fat lie that He supervised water baptism being done by His disciples. Show us the word of God on this subject or keep quiet When the Apostles heard that Samaria had received the gospel, what did they do? Acts 8:14-14 14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost.Notice the passage above. It said they went there and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit which is the baptism with the Holy Spirit. They did not go there to immerse them in water. They went there to get them baptized with the Holy Spirit. Apostle Paul did the same things in Acts 19; Acts 19:1-2 1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.Notice the question he asked them. He did not ask them if they have been baptized with water since they believed. He knew what they needed was the baptism with the Holy Spirit. When they acknowledged their ignorance on the subject, he want ahead and laid hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit. In is letter to the Ephesian church, he wrote; Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, He said that after they believed, they were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. They were not sealed with water baptism. Even after the encounter Paul had with Jesus, Ananias was sent to him saying; Acts 9:17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. You see the consistency in the three examples I gave. This is why Paul said he only baptized a few people at the beginning when he was ignorant of the subject. Today, the church is still ignorant of this subject. This is why we are not making the required impact. Immersing someone in water does not change anyone or add value to you. But the Holy Ghost baptism empowers you to be a living witness of Christ - Acts 1:8. if after this revelation, if you like keep defending your watering religion. Christ is coming back soon. 1. Jesus personally did not do any water baptism because his job is to baptise with the Holy Spirit while our job is to baptise with water. Jesus will not baptise you with water but any believing christian can baptise u with water. Same way no human can baptise u with the Holy Spirit, a human can only baptise with water. John 3 vs 26, John 4 vs 1 - 2, Acts 2 vs 38 - 41. 1John 5 vs 8:And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.John 3 vs 5: Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. If you have been baptised correctly by water in the name of Jesus, you cannot reject the baptism of the Holy spirit, and if you have been baptised with the Holy Spirit, you cannot reject water baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus. They work hand in hand. 2. Jesus didnt just command people to perform water baptism, Jesus directed His disciples to baptise those who came to him with water as seen in John 3 vs 26 and John 4 vs 1-2 ONCE AGAIN I HAVE ANSWERED YOUR QUESTIONS WITH SCRIPTURES TO BACK MY CLAIMS WHILE YOU HAVENT SHOWED ONE SCRIPTURE THAT COUNTERS ME. YourFavEvangeli: Jesus sent His disciples into the world to do two things:
1. Preach the gospel 2. Baptise those that believe Mark 16 vs 15-16
Every other thing is a bonus.
YourFavEvangeli: Another post full of lies and without one scripture. I have not changed my stand one bit from the first page till now. If I did, prove it by posting screenshots of my post
Let me make it easy for you to show readers again that you don't have any scriptural stand too back up your defense.
Matthew 28 vs 19 19. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Show us one place where the Apostles baptised someone with the Holy Spirit
Dear readers, it's about to get interesting, watch out for his next post Up there is your original post. Now do you read water baptis, anywhere in that Mark 16 vs 15-16 bible verse? You are so confused and messed up in your understanding, that is the reason why, you are mixing up law with grace, you're mixing up carnality/flesh with spirit/spiritual, you're mixing up poor imitation with something rich and real/genuine If you're confident about Matthew 28 vs 19, show at least a witness bible verse, showing baptizing in water done, specifically in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (i.e. baptizing in water done, done in the name of in aforementioned trio) Personal text: Jesus is not a theologian. He is God who told stories. |

oh boy, I predicted rightly. You did not answer my question if you have been following this thread from page one or page 4 even, you will see how inconsistent this man has been. He has never showed any of his doctrine in the bible. Now he asked me to show where the apostles baptised in the name of the father son and Holy Ghost When the name of this thread is: Why You Must Be Baptised In The Name Of Jesus , Lmaooooo, my belle ooooo, NNTR is confused. I have been replying NNTR (and his alternate monikers) and showing his true colours with bible verses for over a week now because I noticed that he is looking for who to confuse with his wrong doctrines otherwise, I do not have time for charlatans. If you respond to his doctrines that have no scriptural backing, you do so at your own risk because I have proven beyond reasonable doubt from the bible that water baptism by immersion is the scriptural description for being born again. I have satisfied my sonscience. So for the last time: 1. NNTR, why didn't Jesus stop this water baptism in John 3 vs 26 and John 4 vs 1 - 2? 2. Since u said that the apostles were performing water baptising out of disobedience: Luke 20:4 (KJV) The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? 3. The water baptism done by apostle Philip, Paul and Peter in Acts 8 vs 26-40, Acts 19 vs 2-6, Acts 2 vs 38-41 and many others, were they in obedience or disobedience to Jesus? 3. Show us one place where Jesus commanded us not to baptise with water in Jesus name? 4. Show us one person in the bible who obeyed Matthew 28 vs 19 by baptising people with the Holy Ghost Matthew 28 vs 1919. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: (I know he will reply with another long thrash and story cus he cannot answer any of the above scripturally without giving credence to what I have been saying ) Summary: Be born of the Water and the Spirit according to Jesus in John 3 vs 5 by being baptised with water by immersion in Jesus name to symbolise the burial and ressurection of Jesus as described in Colossians 2 vs 12, Romans 6 vs 4-5. Be rest assured that water baptism was carried out while Jesus was alive by the disciples of Jesus under the direction of Jesus as seen in John 3 vs 26 and John 4 vs 1-2 (The disciples were the one baptising people but it was said that "Jesus baptised people" . Even if you have been baptised before and it was not with water by immersion, you are very right to be baptised again in the name of Jesus as seen in Acts 19 vs 2 - 6. Baptism with water in the name of Jesus must be done for you by any bible believing Christian (not all Christians are bible believers, they even claim the bible was doctored ) while Baptism of the Holy Spirit can only be done by the Lord Jesus himself Matt 3 vs 11 and Luke 3 vs 16, but unlike water baptism, even you can pray for yourself and receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit just like it happened in Acts ch 2 vs 1-4Though you only need to be baptised in the name of Jesus with water once, you need the baptism of the Holy Spirit more than once as seen in Acts 4 vs 31 . I hope someone has been blessed. 5 Likes |

YourFavEvangeli:
Tables are about to break...
1. When the Apostles heard that Samaria had received the gospel, what did they do? When Samaria received the gospel what did they do? The same Acts 8 vs 12 -15 12. But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13. Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. 14. Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15. Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
3 neccessary things to being born again: Your Belief, Water baptism by immersion in Jesus name, Baptism of the Holy Ghost
2. Notice the question he asked them. He did not ask them if they have been baptized with water since they believed. He knew what they needed was the baptism with the Holy Spirit.
A big lie!!!!! See the full story here: Acts 19 vs 2 - 6 2. He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. Try dey quote full story...
3. He said that after they believed, they were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. They were not sealed with water baptism. We are saying the same thing. 95% of the time, People receive the Holy Spirit after they have been baptised with water except people like Jesus, Timothy and John the Baptist which were filled with the Holy Spirit from the womb.
4. Even after the encounter Paul had with Jesus, Ananias was sent to him Acts 9 vs 17 - 18 17. And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. 18. And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
The same Apostle Paul (after he was baptised by Ananias), baptised several others in the name of Jesus as seen in Acts 19 vs 2 - 6
5. This is why Paul said he only baptized a few people at the beginning when he was ignorant of the subject. Kindly enlighten us... When was Apostle Paul ignorant? Before he believed in Jesus and wasn't baptised in the name of Jesus or after he met Jesus and was baptised in Jesus name and even baptised others as well in Jesus name.
6. Number 6 is a question for you TruthinAction, Jesus commanded us in Matt 28 vs 19 to Go into the world and baptise them 19. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Baptising them is a verb, an action word, if you believe that the baptism is the baptism of the Holy Spirit not the water baptism carried out by the apostles in the name of Jesus as seen in Acts 2 vs 38-41, Acts 19 vs 2-6, Acts 8 vs 26-40 Show us one place where the Apostles baptised someone with the Holy Ghost
Until You can show it, know that you have to be baptised by a christian in Jesus name by water and when you pray/they pray for you, Jesus will baptise you with the Holy Spirit. The water and the spirit agree in one... i never said that the early disciples never got baptized with water but they did it ignorantly. This is why Apostle Paul said; 1Corinthians 1:14-17 14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; 15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. 16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. 17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. If Jesus meant water baptism when he said he that believes and is baptized shall be saved, why did Paul said that Christ did not send him to baptize? Does it mean Apostle Paul who was one of the best lawyers of his days never read such instructions? Or are you saying he did not hear Jesus well? He only baptized two persons and a family in over 15 years of ministry. This proves that emphases have shifted from water baptism to Holy Ghost baptism. Receiving the Holy Ghost and Holy Ghost baptism is the same thing. Please update and upgrade. We are in the days of ministry of the Spirit. 1 Like |

Receiving the Holy Ghost and Holy Ghost baptism is the same thing. Please update and upgrade. We are in the days of ministry of the Spirit. Acts 19:4-7 (KJV) Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. And all the men were about twelve. Acts 16:14-15 (KJV) And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us. The two verses above show apostle Paul carrying out water baptism in Jesus name. The chapter in 1 Chor was because Paul heard that there was divisions in the church where some say they are of Paul, some say they are of Apollps, some say they are of Jesus etc so Paul was saying that he is happy that he wasnt even the one that baptised them except Gaius, Christophus and the household of Stephanas. 1 Corinthians 3:4-6 (KJV) For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. You can see from the above scripture that Paul was simply showing that he and Apollos were fellow labourers in Christ with different duties but still working towards the same goal. Receiving the Holy Ghost and Holy Ghost baptism is the same thingI AGREE However, water baptism in Jesus name is different from the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Acts 8:14-17 (KJV) Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: ( For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. In the above verse, you can clearly see that the baptism in the name of Jesus is different from the baptism of the Holy Ghost. I have 2 questions for you, Please reply with scriptural backing. 1. Was the baptism of John from heaven or of men? 2. Was there anywhere anyone baptised someone with the HolyGhost in the bible? |

So if you know about the promise to be baptised with the Holy Ghost and Fire, specifically in the name of Jesus, then why are you trying to drag in Matthew 28 vs 19 If you're confident about Matthew 28 vs 19, then why arent to able to show at least a witness bible verse, showing baptizing in water done, specifically in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (i.e. baptizing in water done, done in the name of in the aforementioned trio) 1. Show scripture supporting the Apostles have done water baptism specifically mentioning the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. 2. Also tell what specifically is the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost YourFavEvangeli: I have been replying NNTR (and his alternate monikers) You think everyone behaves badly like do, who posts under several pseudonyms YourFavEvangeli: ... and showing his true colours with bible verses for over a week now because I noticed that he is looking for who to confuse with his wrong doctrines otherwise, I do not have time for charlatans. NNTR, why didn't Jesus stop this water baptism in John 3 vs 26 and John 4 vs 1 - 2? It is because it had a shelf life. Since u said that the apostles were performing water baptising out of disobedience: Luke 20:4 (KJV) This is you twisting as you usually do what I advanced. I know I didnt say type ' disobedience' but it was correctly was ' amnesia' that I typed. There's a clear difference between the two words YourFavEvangeli: The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? Of course, it is from heaven, and also of men No one has disputed with you the origin of JTB baptism of water, anyway. Water baptism, like most things in life, at a particular point in time, has its intention, purpose, design, aim, objective, goal etc comes to an end. JTB, clearly stated the purpose of the water baptism he carried out. He even advanced his audience and/or listeners, about a better form of baptism, that then is forthcoming, and explicitly mentioned that it is baptism with the Holy Ghost and Fire. YourFavEvangeli: 3. The water baptism done by apostle Philip, Paul and Peter in Acts 8 vs 26-40, Acts 19 vs 2-6, Acts 2 vs 38-41 and many others, were they in obedience or disobedience to Jesus? There not done in disobedience, but were done from lapse in full memory recollection and also because of the absence of full disclosure, but once they remembered and have full revelation, they jettison the practice. YourFavEvangeli: 3. Show us one place where Jesus commanded us not to baptise with water in Jesus name? This is you being in a dark room, and now asking me to show you a black cat in the room, especially when in the first place, there is no cat in your dark room. Jesus specified baptism with Holy Ghost and Fire in His name. Jesus did not specify water baptism in His name. YourFavEvangeli: 4. Bucketful of hogwah and bullpiss because John 3 vs 5 has nothing whatsoever to do with water baptism nor JTB. Born of water, is a reference to natural birth of a human being from breaking out of the amniotic bag, while, born of the Spirit, is a reference to spiritual birth, supernatural rebirth, so to speak and as it were YourFavEvangeli: Baptism with water in the name of Jesus must be done for you by any bible believing Christian (not all Christians are bible believers, they even claim the bible was doctored ) while Baptism of the Holy Spirit can only be done by the Lord Jesus himself Matt 3 vs 11 and Luke 3 vs 16, but unlike water baptism, even you can pray for yourself and receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit just like it happened in Acts ch 2 vs 1-4 Though you only need to be baptised in the name of Jesus with water once, you need the baptism of the Holy Spirit more than once as seen in Acts 4 vs 31 Acts 4 vs 31 doesnt anywhere in it, state, that anyone needs the baptism of the Holy Spirit more than once.
You can see from the above scripture that Paul was simply showing that he and Apollos were fellow labourers in Christ with different duties but still working towards the same goal.
Receiving the Holy Ghost and Holy Ghost baptism is the same thing I AGREE
However, water baptism in Jesus name is different from the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Acts 8:14-17 (KJV) Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
Let's analyze this issue of baptism from the genesis of it. It all started with John the cousin of Jesus hence he is called John the Baptist. Hear how he introduced the subject of water baptism. We will look at it from the four books of the gospel. Let's start with the gospel of Matthew. He said in Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.Pay attention to his language. First he said I indeed meaning he didn't institute it as something that must be done by everyone. Second, he said he is doing it with water. That means, It can be done with any other means. If he had said, he is baptizing OF water, we will infer that there is the baptism of water. But he said, he is baptizing WITH water. He now went further to say that Jesus will do his baptism WITH the Holy Spirit. So the keyword is baptism which must be carried out but the means with which it is done is different. The water John the Baptist used was a symbol of the Holy Spirit which was yet to be given at that time. To baptize means to immerse or to be whelmed. So, he told his audience that in the same way I immerse you in water, Jesus will immerse you or whelm you with the Holy Spirit. Baptism is not supposed to be duplicated like the church is doing it. The scripture says there is one baptism - Ephesians 4:5. They make the statement of John the Baptist to sound like there is baptism of water and there is baptism of the Holy Spirit. John the Baptist didn't say baptism of water. He said, baptism with water. And there is a marked difference between both. The evidence of the Gospel of Mark says the same thing. And it reads; Mark 1:8 I indeed have baptized you WITH water: but he shall baptize you WITH the Holy Ghost. The Gospel of Luke says the same thing; Luke 3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you WITH water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you WITH the Holy Ghost and with fire:The Gospel of John made unveils one of the reasons he baptized with water. He said; John 1:31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. So, he carried out the water baptism so Jesus will be unveiled to Israel. It was not intended to be an everlasting sacrament. It was for a season. He continued; John 1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. There is no ambiguity in the statement made by John the Baptist. He said, I do my baptism with water but Jesus will do his with the Holy Spirit. Even our Lord Jesus said the same thing; Acts 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. So, when Jesus said in Mark 16:16;"He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."He couldn't have been referring to water. If he meant water, then John the Baptist lied. Jesus has to fulfill prophecy. He is to do his baptism with the Holy Spirit. And that is what he uses to baptize us today. Why then did the early church baptize with water? It was ignorance. They didn't have any book to make reference to like we do today. It was many years later that Apostle realized that God didn't send him to baptize with water. He only baptized a few people. Apostle Paul came from a very religious background. If water baptism was very necessary,he would have insisted it must be done by all who profess Jesus Christ. And it would have form part of the content of the letters he wrote to the Churches. But, it was not mentioned once. The Apostles did both baptism during the days of the early church but like I said, they were still learning. But many years later, Apostle Paul knew better. I do hope my explanation makes more sense. If you want to go on with your water baptism, continue but don't condemn those who don't for they have been sanctified by the Holy Spirit - Romans 15:16. The Holy Spirit is the stamp of ownership or approval of God on us. Hence, Paul wrote; Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,Another passage reads; 2 Conrinthians 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.Shalom |

The Holy Spirit is the stamp of ownership or approval of God on us. Hence, Paul wrote;
Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Another passage reads;
2 Conrinthians 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
Shalom
