Crimea wasn’t US business it was Ukraine’s sole responsibility bt Russia took them unawares or else they would have repelled them out. Us only have sanctions because people living Crimea were much closer to Russia than Ukraine same reason Ukraine didn’t attempt to reclaim the island.
