Gooo News & Bad News.

Good news first:
Today is Sunday and it is a good time to get refreshed in His presence.
Secondly, the result came out and it is as mentioned earlier; the culprit being gumboro. I am still quite shocked and surprised anyways.
Moreover, close observation showed that only the birds I was brooding using vaccines were affected. None of my organic birds succumbed to the viral infection (at least not at the moment).
So many questions comes to play here; was it a case of failed vaccination? Vector transmission of infection through carelessness? I even suspected the feed!!! Unfortunately, I left it in someone care to attend to another pressing issues.
The good news is that I know for sure what the problem is now. It eliminates the thought of village people interference.

Bad News:
As off this afternoon, the death toll had reached its peak. Additional 17 birds gave up the ghost and embarked on the journey to chicken Paradise. I expect a few more deaths anyways but I am currently trying to see if I can rescue as much as possible.

In honor of their struggle against death yet failed, took my time to dig a hole about 3'5ft for the second mass burial. I which I could the other chicks around to morn their deaths

The burial ceremony was short, izal was poured all over the carcass and that was it.

I'm not saying it works 100%, but at least...
You can also get miracle leaf, it hasn't been tested yet in poultry but it works wonders in humans.

I had not done this business in a while (for like 6 months), and went to the market yesterday to be shocked by the ourageous prices. 4 weeks Noilers I used to buy for 300-350 now sell for 650 naira. If you see how fast I walked away from the first person that told me that, only to be told the same price everywhere else. And I had already budgeted buying the 4 weeks Noilers for at least 350 naira. I also bought bag of starter for 4,100 instead the normal 3,600 I used to buy it at my area in Ibadan.

What the hell is happening.

Using 1.5kg consumption chart for broilers (I usually do 1.25kg jare), that's;

1.5kg x 100 (broiler chicks for 4 weeks) = 150kg

25kg per bag of Broiler starter i.e: 150/25 = 6 bags , give or take 7 bags. This will do just fine. Nevertheless, the number of weeks to cull them is also a determinant factor biko. For me, I just do am jejely.

Go to Obasonjo Farms at Oluyole... Wherever you are, get to Mobil bus stop, along Ring Road, and then take a bike to Obasonjo farms. Make sure you go on Monday, or Thursday... those are the two days you can get chickens to buy. And it is not just one spot...it is like 5-7 streets in that zone....all over the streets, you will see chicken sellers.

Please guys what can I use for my noilers? The are twisting their neck in a weird manner, almost upside down and having unusual poo.

But selling off them to offtakers are the problem. Wish there are available offtakers, with cash and carry option.
