Amoto94: Mancity's form is just so bullish. They have the highest point total in the top 5 European leagues. Even leagues we call farmers league. None have accumulated these number of points. Truly, I'm in awe as to how Guardiola has maintained this high level of consistency for years. 3 Likes |

Theuniverse: Oshiomhole being obsessed with being a champion known globally lost grip of the local politics and got booted to the corner of Edo socio-politics. Amaechi got obsessed with the center and lost control of the local politics to people like Magnus Abe. Chelsea losing hold of the 'local politics' and terming others local champions might make them continually lose out of the EPL. Real Madrid became too obsessed with being champions of Europe that they lost grip of Spanish league. Don't diminish one to raise the other. What's the point of being a community leader when your own family don't consider you a leader to begin with? 14 Likes 1 Share |

BikeMan:He is making sure to focus on a particular trophy every season which is not bad seeing the money he has spent so far but his fan call it genius. Nor be same league chelsea and liverpool wey win ucl Dey. It’s just like barca wining their league when Madrid was winning ucl back to back, guess between the clubs who was feeling intimidated? Barca, which forced messi to be making speech that they will bring ucl back to Nou camp because barca are aware ucl is more bigger and important than winning a local league which Raumdeuter now celebrate after rubbishing it. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by hensben(m): 10:27am On Feb 19, 2022 |
DissTroy:It doesn’t matter since this is football, you can not win it all but dominating global stage is more prestigious. Barca felt intimidated when Madrid was winning ucl back to back that messi had to make a speech of bringing the ucl back to camp Nou. Moreover, still ended up winning their league after dominating Europe and were still making semi but has barca won ucl since then, they are even going down to Europa and you think they are happy with their current statue. As much as we can liking football to politics due to settings but the play is not the same. |

hensben: Is it always the case? Sevilla have won the Europa League 6 times since 2006 (and 3 times in a row in that period) , yet Atletico Madrid who have won it just 3 times are considered more of an elite or top team than Sevilla. You know why? Atletico haven't lost grip of the Spanish La Liga or other Spanish tournaments, but Sevilla has. Yet Sevilla are champions of Europe whether we like it or not. Very formidable in the continental competitions. Gerrard still gets trolled for not winning the EPL even though he masterminded Liverpool's UCL winning, and has nearly come close to winning but Man. United dominated the EPL in his era. Somehow, Ibra doesn't get as much stick as Gerrard does, but Ibra has never won the UCL. In football awards, isn't it curious that league performances seem to dominate conversations over UCL performances? Even coaches' pedigrees are ranked in order of their league performances. Facts are facts and whataboutism wouldn't make facts less of what they are - facts. 9 Likes 1 Share |

DissTroy:Well, you are just being economical with the truth. Ancelotti is regarded as one of the best coach today it’s because his ucl exploit. Europa and ucl are not same why making example with that, most football fan don’t rate Europa league like that. Messi made a speech in front of a mammoth crowd to deliver ucl while they were dominating la liga. Ucl is still the pinnacle of club football’s success. Ibra will wish to have ucl, Buffon hustled for same trophy even after winning multiple league titles with Juve. |

Theuniverse: You guys should drop this wack argument abeg. There is no bigger fan of Mourinho than myself. Just 3 years ago, I strongly believed that Mourinho was better than Guardiola seeing the strength of the teams he used to achieve success. Mourinho never lost a home game in 10 years. He took underdogs like Porto and inter to UCL triumphs. He basically ran away with the leagues in his first try in the EPL when other teams were the dominant teams then, one just winning the invincible. Guardiola on the other hand has managed at the biggest and best clubs only, with the best players and resources available to him, more than any other coach ever before. BUT, he has utilized them perfectly. When you dominate 3 top leagues, it's a pattern. I was convinced that Guardiola would not repeat what Mourinho did when he first came to EPL, dominate the league and run away with it. But he has done that, for even a longer and sustainable period while implementing a better system of football between the two. Give honor when due. We've always said that players like Messi, muller or teams like the dominant Barca Bayern sides would not dominate the EPL as much as they did their leagues when they were always getting above 90 points in their league. That playing midtable teams like westham, Leicester, wolves, Everton or even tough lower level teams like Leeds, Brighton, crystal palace not to talk of the competitive top 6 teams meant surely dropping points on a fortnight basis. That it would be impossible to have stretches of winning runs against these teams stacked with quality players and coaches. And here we are, the man has done this 4 straight seasons. When people mock him for not winning the champions league, it's just laughable and disingenuous. The man was 90 minutes away from Winning it for fuxks sake. This is after completing a domestic treble. Let's give honor when due. The man has made the most of the resources given to him. Not many can put themselves in a position to earn that not to talk of utilizing it perfectly. Mourinho my own man has literally fallen off a cliff. He has failed in his last 2 challenges while Guardiola only keeps gaining momententum. Guardiola is undoubtedly the best modern manager and any team in the world would rush to have him. Let's tell ourselves the Truth. 8 Likes 1 Share |

FLW’s Huddersfield Town fan pundit Graeme Rayner: "I think Levi Colwill will play for Chelsea and England in the next 2 or 3 years. We’ve had Emile Smith-Rowe come for half a season and was good, but wasn’t as good as Levi Colwill, although obviously in different positions." "We also saw Trevah Chalobah from Chelsea come, wasn’t that impressive then had a season on loan in France, and then this season Thomas Tuchel likes him and he plays relatively regularly in the first team at Chelsea." @Blue_Footy 1 Like |

hensben:Am I? Everything I have stated is platformed on your argument that being "world champions" is more important than anything and makes the club greater. Please hold that thought as we examine it. ------------ The FIFA Club World Cup was established in the year 2000. ~ Corinthians F.C. of Brazil have won in 2 times (defeating Chelsea FC in one of the finals); ~ Chelsea F.C.have won the FCWC just once. Going by your logic, Corinthians doing it twice the number of times Chelsea has makes it twice the club Chelsea F.C. is. Juventus, Inter Milan, Sevilla, Ajax and such clubs who have never won the FCWC are all paperweights compared to the great Corinthians F.C., and shouldn't even be mentioned amongst club football elite. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_FIFA_Club_World_Cup_finals Alright, Hensben, your logic on this issue is the most sound. 1 Like |
