Yes, First Registrars emailed me asking which brokerage I would want bonus sent to. After my response, it took about a month

Thank you so much, this addresses my enquiry perfectly.

emmasoft:

Yes if the stock is not managed by the same registrars you already have mandate with.

If it's the same registrar no need to fill a fresh mandate just send a mail asking them to update your current mandate to included your recent purchase.

For example you will not need to fill a fresh mandate if you have mandate with first registrars and you just bought fidelity bank.

4 - 5 years time frame is likely a very tall dream. Transcorp's OS is scary.

Hmmm.. okay.. hope they can at least substantially improve on current dividend

Though there's nothing impossible in this market.........BUT you may have to just focus on price appreciation in the meantime. smiley
Result is another important determinant to price movement of Transcorp, let's hope it comes out very good.

Can anyone help with ETI dividend payout history?

That overbloated OS of the company would always water down the EPS hence affect dividend. It still doesn't allow the stock to rally meaningfully thus making it one of the most slippery stocks on NSE.

Or better to wait and see if it will drop in price

The best time to buy a sound, value stock with good fundamentals is now. You can average down during the bearish season.

Don't rush, the race you are getting into is not a sprint but a marathon. You can't get everything in a jiffy. It takes time. Actually the knowledge of the stock market is gotten both by reading and experience. It takes some time. Start with the little you know and keep at it.
All gurus was once a novice. It's a matter of time if you have the interest you can get the knowledge and experience with time.
It's always good to start stocks investment having a long term in view and build your confidence gradually before diving into trading. If you start trading as a novice it may seems to you like gambling.

First thing is to open a stockbroking account and as you read and get exposed to some stuffs on this thread, filter the chaff from the wheat and go ahead and practice.

Remember no superman in the stock market, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose; even people like Warren Buffet can get it wrong at times so be prepared! Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

What is the least amount of money I can use to open a stockbroking account?

Now, this is the kind of advice I call "Come and Be Going grin ) Either way, you will be right in the end.

Buy now that the prices are high and risk of bear is all over the market.
Average down when the price drops angry

What happened to holding your cash until the market tanks and buying your fill?

At investment one cscs/stockbroking account opening is free.
Just click the link on my signature and complete the online form.

After the account is opened you can start investing with any amount you have.

As a matter of fact you can start investing with any amount that can buy at least one unit of the stock you wish to buy. ie no restrictions as per amount to invest. Come to the market with as much as you have - 1,000 or less to as much as in billions you are good to go.

So today, as oil price moves to 97$/barrel. I just wonder why increase in the price of crude oil has never had any meaningful impact through out this man's regime. Has nigeria stopped exporting crude?

What if Market does not tank?

...And what happens if the market doesn't tank? We should begin to look at investment from a long term point of view and consistently invest in fundamentally sound stocks that are selling at a bargain. Note the keywords: long-term and consistency!

I'll answer your question differently.

Grab the last financial reports of GTCO and STANBIC to see if the numbers make sense to you. If you believe in their profitability moving forward and you're ready to invest long-term for cashflow(dividend income) and possible price appreciation, then you know what to do. The market has a number of juicy opportunities for those who know where to look.
