With due respect, the elder statesman is being economical with the truth.

If his reckoning is anything to go by, then every tribe in Nigeria should have the presidency on rotational basis.

The rotation that Nigeria envisages is between the North and the South and not ethnicity based.

As the situation stands today, on principle, it is the turn of the South to produce the president.

It is not expressly stated whether Yoruba, Igbo, Ishan, Calabar, Isoko, etc should become president.

When next it is the turn of Delta South to produce the Governor of the State, then he (Pa, E.K. Clark) would stand a legitimate chance to tell his Ijaw kinsmen to go all out for it.

Please, Pa Clark, don't derail a system that has brought peace, justice and equity in Delta State.

First was Delta Central (James O. Ibori).

Then rotated to Delta South (Emmanuel Uduaghan) - an Itsekiri man.

Then followed by Delta North (Ifeanyi Okowa)

So all senatorial zones have been at the helm of affairs in the state.

Common sense should tell anyone that Delta Central has it this time around.

With due respect to E.K Clark, this is the turn of Delta Central to be the next governor of Delta State. Delta South is made up of Isekiri, Isoko and Ijaw- where Clark is from. That region (Isekiri) has produced the governor (2007-2015). EK Clark, if you are not been economical with the truth, why didn't you tell Senator James Manager who is from your region and have been in the senate for more than 16 years to step down since, so that other people from that region can be in the senate?
Ek Clark is Supporting a Urhobo man (Gbagi), Manager never met ek Clark for political blessing throughout his 20years in Senate and he has never campaigned Clark community

if we should be counting registered ethnic group in delta with Nigeria government then the number won't be less than 8, placing isoko as an ethnic group alongside urhobo and merging ukwuani, ika, oshimili and aniocha into anima( a non ethnic group name in Nigeria) is trying to play smart

Urhobo wants to benefit from a zoning system they have never honoured from day 1 . Olorogun David edevbie have contested the PDP ticket when it was zoned to Delta south in 2007 against Uduaghan, he contested the ticket again in 2015 against Okowa when it was zoned to Delta north. So everybody should contest it this time.By the way I wholeheartedly support Olorogun David Edevbie to be my next Governor
Edevbie 2014 was supported by UPU

If it is just to present a candidate to add glamour for the mere sake of it, then it's all well and good.

After all, they say, no venture, no success.

Even though most Northerners are agreed on the fact that the South should produce the president come 2023, some diehards in the North are still hell-bent on upsetting the apple cart.

Delta South is made up of Ijaw as majority, Isoko, Urhobo and Itsekiri.

The Urhobos who are indigenes of Okere Urhobo and Agbarha Warri Kingdoms comprising six INEC Electoral Wards in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State. If they want it to be zoned to South, Urhobos will take it. In addition, the two urhobo Kingdoms in Warri have six Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC delineated wards in Warri South Local Government Area out of the total 12 INEC wards in Warri South Local Government Area.

Urhobos in Ijaw led local government s: “Urhobos of Uduophori in Patani Local Government Area, and Odurubu in Bomadi Local Government Area as well are Urhobo minority communities in the Delta South Senatorial.

Clarke should rest. Urhobos are the majority in Delta State, and we will become the next Governor because every other person became Governor through our one man (Ibori) and general (Urhobo).

H.E chief Onanefe James Ibori laid down the beautiful master piece of zoning and it has been peaceful to all ethnic group, for continuity let it continue, E. k Clark should just keep kwayet and let peace reign, old man causing trouble.
It is rhe turn of Delta central and our amiable Deputy Senate president will be our next governor in the person of Senator Ovie Omo-agege

That is the PDP system... It's not found anywhere in the Nigeria constitution. The cure to this is simple, all ethnic group should contest for it. The winner gets it.

If they go that way uhrobos and Delta north would be having the seat back to back

the major problem in this zoning issue is Ibori, who wants to pick the next governor by force. Delta zoning arrangement is the best in Nigeria and with little understanding from every ethnic groups, we will settle this

The Urhobos also occupy a huge chunk of Delta South and even the community Clark hails from is Urhobo-speaking (Bilingual).

This talk of equity... come to think of it, How well are the isokos being treated in Delta South?

Isokos and uhrobos are the same people.

My brother, the isokos are playing follow follow politics . They are not ready to fight. Hence we shouldn't expect any other tribe to fight our own fight for us. Clerk is from Ijaw, you can see how he is fighting for his people. How many isoko politicians are ready to speak out. They prefer to play a local champion or follow follow politics
Don't be deceive, Clark is not fighting for the ijaw people. Clark is fighting for his own interest. What has Clark done for his people where he came from?

The Isokos have always been vocal about being distinct from Urhobo.
The other tribes you mentioned prefer to be united under the Anioma umbrella.

Better that way...
Take a good look at Rivers State for example, the Ekweres are the only ethnic group producing the Governors despite having other ethnic groups. They don't practice any rotation despite being a PDP state.

Why do Nigerians always think they can force others to become part of their tribe?
The Igbos want to claim the Aniomas while the Urhobos want to claim Isoko.

He [Ibori] knows that if such a thing is not done, there will be no chance for the Itsekiris to become Governor. So brought up that tricky system in 2007 to deceive gullible Urhobos after making a mockery of them in the PDP primary election in which the Urhobos, presented 16 aspirants yet uduaghan ( Ibori's Uncle) who did not contest was given.
