Not really, messi is not too obsess with personal glory over team improvement, I think he will accept to be played when the coach want and not must play situation. He will even collect a heavy pay cut to join them.

I don’t know much about Setien but I know that Koeman one of my all time favourite defenders is not a very good manager.

With Busquets, De Jong, Gavi, Pedri the players were already in place in midfield to implement the appropriate system. In addition it is a system that they all grew up playing.

Kudos to Xavi for being able to implement it though. I have no doubt that Koeman could not have done it even if given more time with these players.

Forget that thing. It is difficult for a manager to succeed without a structured midfield. Xavi inherited Busquets, De Jong, and potentially the most gifted set of Spanish midfielders since Xavi and his set.

Also in modern football you will get no where with players with low work rate and who refuse to play in any way that is inconvenient to them. No manager will succeed with our structureless midfield and dysfunctional set of players. The structureless midfield might have had a slim chance of being overcome but the lazy and overpaid players makes it mission impossible.

Even if Pep or Klopp come in the first thing they will do is offload 1/3 to 1/2 of the team over 2 transfer windows.

ten Hag will struggle with these players. Poch will struggle even more. We have players with PSG players level of laziness and entitlement but with West Ham/ Spurs level of ability. Poch will shed bloody tears.
