F4ku: Bayelsa state is just utterly useless. Even with all the oil nothing to write home about that state. Just hotels littered everywhere with no presence of factories or places to build up the teeming youths who are engaged in cults or criminality. And the most annoying thing is all the men do is to drink ogogoro and sing praises of the government after receiving crumbs. As for Delta state. I have nothing to say. That’s why boys have turned to Yahoo since nothing is working in the state. 2 Likes 1 Share |

VladimirPutiin: Honestly bro.. Is a pity. Bayelsa have all necessary resources to transit from a mediocrity to a world class state.. I always ask myself these questions.. Where do all the billions go? And why should the state be in debt?. Honestly bro it's truly heartbreaking. 3 Likes 1 Share |

I concur with you that the human capital of Lagos contributed a lot to its growth and devlopment. However,we should know that these human capitals that make up the state's population are from different tribes of the country. So I am trying to understand what those commenting "yoruba this , yoruba that " on this thread really mean. trutharena: |

@trutharena,good shot! I admire the way you counter-punched their easy equation of Lagos being the former capital and all the other oft lazy and pompous rubbish held against accepting Lagos' new status. It's true it's the human resource that has put Lagos where it is. Human resource is much greater than all the natural resources combined. My great grandfather,ABINA, contributed so much to the socio-political and economic development of Lagos. This was in the 1920s and 30s,when there were no Igbos or other tribes ,who irresponsibly claim to have developed Lagos. There were Ghanaians,Togolese and returnees from Brazil and Sierra Leone- the SAROS. He died in 1937.He had 61 houses on the Island and 35 on the mainland. But apart from him, there were other astute people like Herbert Macaulay,Abibu Oki ,the Sarumis etc. So,you're quite right . It's the human capital that had helped Lagos to develop its capacity as a pull for investors. 1 Like |

Being going through some funny comments here.... Some of us forget that Nigeria system only recognize Lagos as economic hub ; with the only functional sea and airport Lagos has huge federal government presence Lagos is technically design to be the hub of Nigeria... . Unlike in the US where states has equal chance of viability and growth... |

This one doesn't have sense but I don't blame but the citizens who are clueless about what governance is all about. How can you have a silicon valley in a dysfunctional state with poor infrastructures, bloated population most of who are either semi Illiterate or uneducated. By the way,you need quality education at all levels especially in STEM disciplines to have a resemblance of graduates, who will spur industrial revolution backed by governmental support in terms of loans and critical Infrastructures. Dumb leaders. |
