Gamesmart you're the most stupid person I've ever met in my life. Fućk you!

Over 2000 posts on NL and you can not show 5 places where you made sense.

You can see why we say critical thinking is dead amongst Nigerian students/"yoots".

The country is producing reeetards like you.

I don't really blame the parents.

It's the times we live in.

Parents just happen to have so much commitments these days.

This has been my observation for so long now. Children who play a lot are tagged foolish and the inquisitive ones tagged talkative or I know it all not knowing that children need it the most. I have a friend who has 3 kids and is always scared of answering their questions, has no time to play with them nor teach them quantitative aptitude.
As the kids are sent to evening classes for extra lessons. A regular toddler starts school at age of 6months I.e creche, at age 2 kindergarten and so on and so forth. Leave home by 7am back from school by 3pm, evening lessons by 4pm to 6:30pm, watches Nickelodeon till they retire for the day etc. So how would critical thinking be developed. I have seen a lot of graduates who can't read, can't write an application letter, can't speak in public, can't even act right..... Leaders of tomorrow indeed.

But quiets numbers of them don't want their children to experience stress associated with learning. When students failed now guidance/parents frown at the tutors and sometimes even forced the school promotes them. Academically, parents plays a great roll in academy degradation

Blame low critical thinking on hard times brought upon Nigerians by this irresponsible and incompetent government. How can you think when your stomach is empty and numerous bills to settle.

Everything is the fault of incompetent government. The sun falls out of the sky? It must be the handiwork of incompetent leaders. I've been hearing this silly lamentation for decades and frankly you guys are now sounding to me like a broken record. In those days we didn't have androids/ipads/epads whatever and as an engineering student the slide rule was your best friend. I look upon the generation of today and I see that the standards really have fallen. Youth don't care about learning anymore but social media, entertainment/entertainers and other such useless pursuit.

I've been saying it repeatedly that nigerian parents nowadays enroll their kids in school too early ...before they can even talk they're in school. As the writer said ,thats the crucial period when they should develop . They aren't allowed to develop properly and it affects them throughout their lives . There's a reason why in developed countries you must be at least 6 to enroll in primary 1. 10 year olds have no business being in secondary school ....15 and 16 year olds should not be in university . My friend relocated to the UK and his kids were taken back by a class because of their ages .We think we're smart but we often behave stupidly . Most of you commenting here did not even understand what the writer was trying to say.

As far as Nigeria is concerned, nobody can or will think well.

Am sick and tired of this country

It is high time we do away with these same recycled politicians that have nothing to offer.

Just look at how old and sick Tinubu is,urinating and suffering from parkinson disease,he ended up making most south western youths useless,by depending on other people's sweat with their useless "owoda" statement.

If care is not taken, they will force an old man of above 100yrs with stroke on us

Am from Anambra state, but i don't care which region produces the president of Nigeria...I just want a leader that will liberate us to greatness.

If Nigeria harness her resources judiciously,no country,i repeat,no country, not even China and America put together can match us economically....#GodBlessNigeria #GodHelpNigeria

Are you not tired of singing this broken record. Everything you blame on politicians as if politicians fell from the sky. This piece is about the truth about nigerian society, total moral and mental decay. Laziness and refusal to be the change we so desire. And your response is exactly the problem the OP is trying to point out- blame everybody except yourself.

Every generation thinks that theirs is better than those that came before or after them and yet there is nothing to support such claims.

Gen-X study longer and work for longer hours than those that came before them, are greater masters of tech than those that came before them.

can it put food on the table? If no is the answer then nigerians are likely not going to pay attention to what you're talking about. Nigerians are facing critical reality and you want them to add critical thinking to it, no nah, the average nigerian is still in the battle to conquer hunger and sentence poverty. But funny enough if we all think critically then the society is already on its way to greatness because government manipulation will be halted, we are trapped in a catch-22, between the devil and the deep blue sea, corrupt government and hunger/poverty created by them and we may never get out of it, its a perpetual downward spiral till we hit the rockbottom of doom.

I have three kids age 9,7 and 5, before I enrolled them into primary education I first of all teach them the basics in chess. I wish I could find any school with chess education in their school curriculum.
Chess game has really helped my children in sharpening their thinking.

Critical thinking lol
How is someone going to learn when you teach them like animal.
You can't be confident enough to even as a teacher question talk less of challenging him/her intellectually
You see a teacher come to class with hand full of cane, you'll calmly listen to cane or you collect wotowoto

critically thinking, we are in a catch-22 down here in nigeria. Fundamentally we are faced with two major problems: 1).corrupt government. 2).hunger/poverty created. Nigerians have opted to fight the 2nd problem since they believe they can't fight the 1st problem, they are untouchable, lol

What we are getting wrong is the inability to know that education which intentions was to make the black race believe in a thing called god. Humans are smarter but education kills it. Let us know that knowing is knowledge and not education
