Over the years, our cadet teams have produced the like of Osimehn, the Kelechis, Ndidi,Omeruo,Chuks,Awoniyi,Ejuke, Awaziem.....

Our problem is not lack of players, we need better coach...

Enough of rolling the red carpet for those FBs.
Chairman, BascoVanVeli is an example of foreign born yet I don't know of anyone on this thread who has knowledge of our NPFl like sir Basco. He is so passionate about Nigeria and Nigerian football yet his formative years were probably not in Nigeria.

Ofcos it is connected. Lad needed time to clear his head. He really hurt after the Abuja disaster.

He missed the Afcon earlier this year and is going to miss the WC. It's been a tough time for Victor personally. A lad like that wanna and should be playing in tournaments like these.

But he will be back from the next game. He has to put all his focus into trying to win the Scudetto. That will be some consolation for him going forward.

I remember how tough it was for Mikel also missing the 2006 WC as a youngster and getting ruled out for the 2010 WC due to injury. He still recovered from the disappointments and won the Afcon in 2013 and went to 2 WCs in 2014 and 2018.

So Victor will be fine. Lions keep things moving. And he is a lionhearted individual.

And he still has the chance to play at a major tournament next year in Cote d’ Ivoire.

Blaming games since Nigeria failed to qualify for Qatar 2022 but really surprised here we are running away from reality. but now foreign borns are the issue......it is simple Amaju led NFF just have to go.

Imagine since september 2014 with Amaju as NFF boss Nigeria won bronze in 2019 afcon snd RIO 2016 bronze. What can we say about state of NPFL.The league deteriorated so much that it seems there is no hope again. The under age team that is always a good platform for the future is totally down, the female team is not like before......The big question what is Amaju led NFF achievement in the last 7 years? am expecting answer like he branded and opened eagles to the world with sponsors.Anyone with this mindset should go into archive and check what Emeka Omeruah did for Nigeria football regarding branding and sponsorship.

This is the worst NFF ever with no blue print for Nigeria football.Imagine Samuel Eto in few months as Cameroon FA boss achieved what Amaju board can only boast for 7 years, won afcon bronze and world cup.ticket for Cameroon and here we are ranting on foreign borns as if they are not Nigerians, blaming coaches as if they just find themselves on the seat, leaving toothless NFF board that lack directions on the way forward.

NFF that keep on celebrating 2018 WC qualification as if we have not been to the same WC five times.Under this NFF we failed to qualify for afcon twice and now WC but here with.our knowledge about the game we are discussing issues as if administration has nothing to do with football success...everybody should listen there is no short cut to success.Truly Italy lost out but they won euro so we should stop that comparison, for God sake we failed to qualify for afcon quarter final and failed to make it to WC.

A well.organised football.administration always gives a solid foundation for real development not this present board who are ready to sacrifice Nigeria football just for FIFA seats, playing politics with the game that always keeping Nigerians happy in this very harsh economy situation, insecurity and corrupt government.

I'm not disputing the fact that we have been victim of poor coaching and management.
My stand is running after all these half-baked(I call them half-baked cos they couldn't even make the original team) FBs under the guise that we don't have quality player should stop. Our problem is coaching not players.
Running after FBs while we have the homegrown ones is kind of discouraging.
After all, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm not sure there was a single FB in the squad that won our last AFCON.
The bottom line is that these FBs won't give you the level of commitment and passion you want compared to the homegrown players.

The last Afcon was over nine years ago. Almost no African team hardly had a foreign born player too. This is 2022. Do you think you can beat them with the same squad today? Like Eguavoen, you too are stuck in the past my brother.

Your problem is just ignorance. Senegal and Morocco, have FB players lower rated than Nigeria's foreign born players yet they're doing better.

You didn't answer even one of the questions I asked you.
As for the bolded, how did you find out that?

Amokachi should have made his point without involving FB.

Yes, I agree that we need to build better structures at home; nevertheless, FB players have every right to rep Nigeria.

This same Amokachi has a son playing in the Nigerian league. Was he born in Nigeria?

Uzoho and Simon, who could not score a one-on-one, are FB?

Balogun, Ekong, and Lookman are local players, right?

Amokachi's vituperation on FB players is uncalled for, and he should never be allowed near the Super Eagles again!

Sunday Oliseh should also remain in Belgium abeg; we don't need him!

His teammate, Fabio Vieira won the Liga Portugal Match MVP.

FC Porto sits top of the Portuguese Primeira Liga BWIN with 6 Matchdays to go. They lead by 6 pts.

Eguavoen himself said Rohr was sacked at the wrong time, such a shameless man with no integrity. As the TD of the NFF why didn’t he say that before they fired Rohr? Or why didn’t he reject the job on the grounds that he won’t be able to meet the objectives of the job

The one I hate seeing is ignorant people saying we have poor players. Or "ajebo" players.

Anyways did you notice that we've been underperforming outside Uyo. Maybe we need to move back there too.

Our problem is and has always been coach. Other African teams have foriegn players and they're doing well. Gabon used a squad of dual nationality players to beat the same Ghana we cannot beat.

Dual nationality players that play in division 2, 3 and 4 clubs in Europe are doing wonders in Africa. Yet Nigeria is playing rubbish, and you say our problem is players

Oga how

Gabon drew Ghana, couldn't beat them.

Remember when I talked about comparing us to the USMNT who use data to analyze football? We are so far behind coaching wise that it is painful to see.

I don't think Eguavoen knows more than formation and marking as a coach. Coaches of nowadays use their players the way puppetmasters use their puppets or choir leaders dictate an orchestra. Every player is giving clear instructions, every move of the game is practiced and timed almost to perfection.

When your team cannot string together concurrent passes in progressive areas of the pitch, you are a bad coach. When your team cannot create solid chances despite having the better attacking talent, you are a bad coach. Look at Liverpool and City, no matter how bad a game is they will create at least 5 solid goalscoring chances in a game. This is because they are drilled on where, when and how to pass to open spaces and unlock defences.

Look at the Portugal vs. Macedonia game for example. Portugal were so efficient in attack, one slip-up in midfield from Macedonia and with 3 passes between Fernandes and Ronaldo the ball is in the net. We simply are just poor, imagine meeting a team like that in a tournament with the way we were playing, we would be lucky to escape 3-0.

Nothing wrong in having FBs but it should be the quality ones. Packing all these FBs in our team without proper coaching is a waste of time.

As for what you bolded, it's all staring at our face but you won't see.

Lookman was our brightest winger against Ghana until Simon came and messed up everything...

Our problem has always been coaching. The passion won't coverup the incompetence of the coaching crew . You are just picking on innocent people. Even quality get grade. Even in their 'rejected status' they are still better than the home based players. What should be paramount should be the quality of the players. What is the essence of Simon's passion if he is only going to continue to play rubbish for us. The segregation seems kinda offensive. A Nigerian is the same no matter the origin.
All your assertions here are too sentimental oga....
There are some FBs that are just there for international status sake.

And you can't sit down at the corner of your room and assert that the rejected FBs are better than HG. No, you don't know that sir.

There is no fact in what you said

Ekong aina Balogun bassey are all Nigerians and it’s not any of their fault that naija didn’t qualify for the World Cup
