You need to understand that a society is a system of normalised average, the normalised average when it comes to single mothers and marriage is for men to keep their distance. Now if we fall short of the normalised average, a place of loneliness and seclusion called prison is were we are locked up in, till we conform. 1. They are in most cases mature and see life from a realistic point of view.
2. It's a proof that she's fertile.
3. She is now experienced and wouldn't want to get her second chance wrongly.

Cons
1. The child's father has the moral (or legal) right to see his (and in some cases request for the child's custody) child. In most cases it's difficult to separate a mother and her child, hence to some extent he also has some access to the woman, this requires a lot of trust, wisdom and maturity from the part of the intending husband.
2. You run the risk of the woman and her ex rekindling old flames, especially if he's her first love, coupled with the fact that they are binded by a child.
3. If it's agreed that the child will remain with the mother (consequently in your custody), then it's your responsibility to love and take good care of him/her as your own, hoping that he/she will appreciate what you must have done for him/her.
