The Nigerian Falconets need a goalkeeper to make it through the tournament. Nigeria has been lucky with this goalkeeper.

At this stage, Goalkeeper Monle Omini is the team weakest link, infact the major problem…

I’m still wondering why she’s this shaky after being in goal all through out the qualifying games down till this stage….

Why is this coach playing Florish when we are 2 goals up and we have already qualified for the next stage.

Really can't make sense of some of the coach's decision.

Why keep Onyenezide/Demehin on the pitch and risk missing then in the quarter finals.

Alani too just got carded, it is his job to protect this players.

Also a little concerning we haven't scored from open play

We've finally scored from open play....

main issue is the goals come late between 80 mins and full time..

Nigeria 3 - 1 Canada

Yea. Glad we did.

On a positive note though, we seem to be doing well defensively. But for the early mistake by the goalkeeper, we probably will be going into the knockout stages with a clean sheet.

We however need to work on our offense. We are not as lethal as we have the potential to be.

Another dominating performance from the falcons... Going forward,we need to utilize our chances more... Scoring late into the game seem to have become a norm that shouldn't be..

As for the goalkeeper, let's hope she doesn't end up costing us in this tournament...

Imuran by far the best player on the pitch today.
A master class in left back defensive and attacking play.
My woman player of the match!

Honestly, you're right about our offense.. We create a lot of scoring chances but struggle to convert them.. it's concerning...

Improved pass accuracy. However, the ratio of shot played vs shot on target is quite worrisome (22 shots and 6 on target).

We had some pretty good crosses into Canada's box but were mostly wasted – Okuchukwu is a culprit here.

They need to practice more on their final balls. And yes, I love how the coach give out order in languages they understand easily, although very loud.

Who heard the Buga song after the third goal? cheesy

Hopefully, Holland doesn't destroy the defense and the goalkeeper..

Haven't taken a look at the stats, but 6/22 is concerning.

And yes Ikechukwu bungled a lot of chances. She should have had at least 2 goals today. I'll however cut her some slack.

- The Falconets have now scored 69 goals at the U-20 WWC, and have won 21 matches..

- The win over Canada was the 6th straight competitive win by the current team.

- First time the Falconets have won all 3 group games

- Who will net the 70th goal?…

HOW I WAS ABANDONED TO MY FATE BY RIVERS ANGELS AFTER SUSTAINING KNEE INJURY WHILE PLAYING FOR THEM.

Hi everyone. My name is Amaechi Daniella Ojini,am from Imo State but i was born and brought up in Jos,Plateau State.Am a footballer and former player of Rivers Angels football club of Portharcourt.i joined Rivers Angels in 2016 then in 2020 before the league started i signed three years(3)contract with the club for the 2020/2021 Season.

Then after playing two league games for them, the league went on break.Rivers Angels management took us to play a novelty match with An ALL STAR Team at (omuma)a local government in Rivers State which i was among those that played the match.

After the match my left knee start swelling and paining me seriously.when we got back to Portharcourt After the next training session i told the coach(Edwin Okon)that my knee is paining me and that i need to treat it he said okay, that how long will it take?i said i don't know, then they introduced me to one man that do Native Treatment he comes to the camp everyday to treat me and i pay his transport fare apart from the fee he charged me for the Treatment.

The Coaches and Team Manager(Mrs Matilda Otuene)were all aware of the Injury and Treatment but they didn't Pay,Contribute or help me with a single dime to pay for my treatment, even the drugs the man prescribed for me i bought all of them with my personal money without any help from the club.

Then i started recovering little by little then We went for (Super Six Tournament at Ijebu Ode).
I played a match in that Tournament and we won the League.

After we came back to Portharcourt i was dropped from the team even when i still have an existing contract with the club(Rivers Angels)They refused to give me my clearance even when it is stated in the form they gave all the players that when the Club drops a player they pay them off and give them a free clearance but they refused and asked me to leave the Team.Even when they knew fully well that i sustained that injury while playing for them.

Even when i employed the services of a lawyer to help me fight for my rights and for them to pay me off since i have an existing contract with them all to no avail,Only for (Mrs Matilda Otuene)to tell the lawyer that i didn't play %10 of the league matches for the club, whereby there are many players that have been in that team for more than 5years but have not played up to 10 matches for the club.

I was devastated then i went to Bayelsa Queens to try my luck but someone informed them that am nursing a knee injury,so they couldn't give me any contract at the end,the same thing happened also when i went to Nasarawa Amazon they couldn't sign me because of that same injury i sustained while playing for Rivers Angels football Club.

After undergoing X-ray,MRI and Visiting an Orthopedic Surgeon it was discovered that Am suffering from An ACL Injury(Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury)and is going to cost me (3.5million)for the Surgery.

I have Exhausted all my money going for Native Treatment to see if it will heal so i can return back to the field again all to no avail, because i can not afford the(3.5million)for the Surgery.

Am begging the NWFL Board,NFF and Lovers of Football to come to my Aid So that i can do this surgery.

Thanks and God bless you all.
this is heartbreaking to say the least cry

By a huge margin. Every single girl out there knows what to do at all times. On and off the ball movements top notch; player on the ball has multiple options to pass to.
Mightily impressive stuff from the coaching and scouting crew.

To be honest, there is a reason why I am yet to single out Omini for any special praises in my analysis of the players' showing at the WC so far and well, yesterday showed why yet again.

Yes, she has made a few important saves and even did so once yesterday vs Canada but her shakiness really leaves me not convinced about her.

The truth is Demehin, Oshobukola and co have been doing a yeoman's (abi na yeowoman's) job protecting her from truly dangerous shots on goal. Their cover for Omini needs to be EMPHASIZED and brought more into the light.
Our defence is really disciplined and good. So good that the first goal we conceeded came only when Omini forgot how to pass the ball and not via any defensive errors via the outfield players.

I just hope they keep providing that cover and I hope the coaches really get Omini back in the composure game because we cannot allow slip-ups like that vs the Netherlands.

In all, our girls showed character staying calm, playing their game and rallying back to save Omini's blushes.

Good show from the girls.
