The University of Nigeria Nsukka is the first University in Nigeria. There has been series of competition on what the first university in Nigeria is. Some people have been manipulating google ranking by trying to rate the UI as the first university in Nigeria that's total falsehood.

If we upgrade a nursery school to a primary school, does that make the nursery school the first primary school when there are others that were built earlier as primary schools.

This is an academic attack on Ndigbo as the most educationally advanced group in Nigeria. Since Adamu made the rather offensive statement that UNN should be renamed after queen Elizabeth as the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) is the first University in Nigera, there had been series of reaction including falsely propagating that the University of Nigeria is not the first.

However this is total falsehood, thank God the North and everyone else remembers. The University of Nigeria Nsukka started in the year 1960 while that of Ibadan was only a branch of a British college which rather had a principal like regular colleges until 1963 when it was upgraded to a university.

Perhaps we upgrade the CMS grammar school which was established in 1859 to a university, does that make it the first university in Nigeria?

Every right thinking person knows that the University of Nigeria Nsukka not only carries the image of the country but also it is the most prestigious and first university in Nigeria.

I call all on all Igbo defenders especially bloggers and nairalanders to defend our educational prestige by making post, researches and more on the fact that UNN is the first in Nigeria, we would be able to correct that erroneous google front page hijacking.

The Igbos is back to take our pride of place in Nigeria, we are leading in every educational sector, they are more interested in manipulating data than clean weac score, talk about cheating, if that how it works why haven't all primary schools be upgraded to a university so that it can answer the first university in the world.
