ASUU lost first in the court of public opinion and later in the industrial court making ASUU lose back to back. Though a bit late, ASUU really needs to reinvent itself because things have changed; They underestimated how far the times have changed. Unlike the 80s and 90s of Nigeria when the current ASUU leadership were students in Nigerian universities, Govts alone no longer have monopoly over universities education and there is no longer military govt that is not representative of popular opinion holders and democratically elected representatives of the people. As things stand, while ASUU calls itself an umbrella body of Academic staff of Nigerian universities, their strike is not even representative of all the academic staff and only students of universities where the ASUU guys work are affected. I am aware of some state universities that have completed their 2021/2022 session this month and starting 2022/2023 session after their current break yet they are students of state public universities ASUU claims to be fighting for. So who is being decieved? The strike is discriminatory against students in FG universities. ASUU right now at best is Academic Staff Union of Public Universities( ASUPU) not ASUU when all universities in Nigeria are govt owned. The name itself is a misnomer. ASUU can not win this so should cut their losses. Only FG public universities are 100% affected. Some state universities and all the private universities are not shut or missing out. check my signature for free stuffs! 48 Likes 3 Shares |

“The government would order the vice-chancellors to reopen the universities in compliance with the order of the court,” he said in a statement. The minister added that the court ruling does not preclude the government from going on with further negotiation and consultations. 3 Likes 1 Share |

If ASUU is saying that the FG should jettison its no work, no pay policy to pay them for the months they were on strike, will ASUU give back the months the students lost? 23 Likes 2 Shares |

FreeStuffsNG: Oga leave all the long grammar you are speaking, the simple truth is your party APC does not value education, they would rather prioritize RUGA for herdsmen over education for students... Tell your Party( APC) to pay the lecturers, is that too much to ask for 25 Likes |

Nigeria is a confused nation, a judge woke up one morning and rule that school should resume without government fulfilling a signed agreement or even pay salaries. I pity students that a hungry lecturer will teach, it will be massive failure.. 17 Likes |

May Allah punish all those that don't want this strike to end. It will never be well with their Generations. I have really missed my Uni-Side chick that come to service me every weekend, wash my clothes and clean my house before the strike. FG and ASUU please just because of me, end this strike, or I will Castrate myself. 8 Likes |

While is the government been adamant on giving ASUU what they want... Get money from EFCc recovered funds. It pains that corruption have eaten deep down the country.. The police are given dangerous weapons to stand under the sun and while like a chicken in line of duty. Politicians sit down in a comfortable office and use pen to steal funds just for their own personal satisfaction. Yet those who lectured u on how to gain knowledge and be useful tend to be living penny salary. If the table turns... Police are given full scale salary and conducive environment, and lectures are happy teaching students, I am not sure Nigeria will be in a mess. But we prefer to suffer ourselves. Point line... Nigerian politicians are Nigerians problem. Nigerians are still leaving like a slave to the slave masters ( politicians ) who will throw food on the floor once in four year ( vote buying ) so that we won't focus on ourself at that moment but on them. Selling ur vote is like signature into another 16years of slavery. MrLearned: 1 Like |

Where are those who said that they can not appeal Notwithstanding any order of the court Where there is a conflict between the order and the provision of the cfrn The CFRN 1999 takes precedence over the order Right to appeal can not be denied by a court order which is constitutional 1 Like |

FreeStuffsNG: Do you attend a public University? This court judgement is still to the disadvantage of the students. The main point is that the demands ASUU are met completely, not partially. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Wahala dey! The battle has ended but the war has just begun. Let's hope the next government will be able to solve this issue and call off the strike. Because this government are clueless. They only speak vawulence...and ASUU is the commander in Vawulence so strike not ending soon until both parties embrace peace which is highly unlikely. 1 Like |

DIVAD2000: What ASUU want is implementation not promises. All the federal government has done is to make promise of payment starting from the next administration. That's bulls**t If the offers are going to be implemented by them, even with 50% commitment from government, ASUU will call off the strike. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Honestly you guys understand nothing. ASUU has been calling off strikee since the 90s yet nothing is solved. Now you want them to call off the strike and later go back to strike again in less than 6months. Why can't the government solve it once and for all? ASUU demands are not out of place. It can be solved. There are too much wastages in governance. FreeStuffsNG: 8 Likes 1 Share |

Masterito:Even you do not believe the @ bolded It is either mischief or ignorance that can make you believe that N1.3 trillion for only public universities is obtained from leakages when you do not even consider the total wagebill of the whole civil service or think the only union in public universities is ASUU. It costs PMB nothing to behave like GEJ and sign but not fulfil it and pass it to the next admin..The reality now is FG can not even afford the N1.3 trillion and if ASUU keeps on strike for ever it makes no difference on the FG revenue. 5 Likes |
