If this is your primary reason for not supporting Peter Obi's candidacy, I get it and respect it 100%, it's a very valid concern. That said, you work with the assumption that these politicians are binary, for most of them, APC and PDP are no more than political platforms.

Peter Obi winning the presidency will for sure influence the results of the senate/HOR elections which will come after. Also, there will definitely be decamping from the PDP especially, and probably the APC to LP given the amount of power and influence that the president of Nigeria wields. Whoever is on the right side of the presidency and on the right side early enough enjoys more influence. Peter Obi starting out as a minority will not be the first time we've had a president start out as a minority in the senate and if I remember correctly, Buhari started out as a minority in 2015.

nihilistjnr:

Obi is the worst option in this scenario, because assuming he wins the presidential election, whilst labour party flops (as can be reasonably expected) at all other levels, what then?

What next?

How does a minority party President form a government? From what party does he appoint Ministers? How does he pass a budget through Senate? How does sponsor any bills effectively? Would you expect the President to focus more time on growing his party(which he would need to do) than fixing the country? How does he deal with opposition Governors?

How is he not a Lame Duck?

You keep dishing out surprisingly stupid arguments. Like, it's now a daily occurrence.

The 2 other candidates themselves barely are available for their own campaigns. They spend the most of their time in foreign countries. Relying on their foolish propagandist to spreading graphic designers up and down the internet while they chill.

Again, I'm not even talking of their children, I'm talking of the candidates, but in Obi, you want his entire family members to be involved, when that's the very thing we're campaigning against, the involvement of family in state politics. And furthermore, as a PDP boy you are, can you show me wike's children campaigning for him or atikus children campaigning for him.
Hypocritical lots.

Typical Obidense. I am not asking for the active participation of his children in politics. I am asking them to be a part of his rallies. Two different things.

Besides, were you not the same ones celebrating the "presence" of the lagos state deputy governors son in the Festac rally?

Foolish boy

Senate and HOR elections are on the same day as Presidency. Someone should confirm this

Governorship and HoA is the following week

I am not sure Buhari started out with a minority APC senate

I have said it before, I am not happy with any of the options before us. I will not be voting during the presidential election and I don't care who wins. As far as I'm concerned, they are all the same. The outcome after 4 or 8 years with any of them is more or less the same. That's where I stand.

PMB Administration actually take a giant step to curtail oil theft and I believe recent discoveries are part of success of the project.

I guess we have heard of Deep Blue Project? Sophisticated tools, gadgets, equipment are procured and deployed for the project launched in 2021.

the problem with oil theft is not equipment per se though - it is human beings.

as an example DPR has a website and you are meant to do everything through it. all payments, registrations etc. but the registration and payments portal has been down for forever. so you have to pay someone to do your registration, as it can only be done locally.

that is just on example of how nigerian human beings fk the system

there are multiple checks and balances to counter subsidy fraud - but it is ultimately humans that are enabling it.

i also say this because buhari completely failed to deal with anyone in our adulterated fuel saga.
identifying the culprits could not have been hard - byt no one was sanctioned for an incident that literally brought the country to its knees

While we are all planning to japa, Lebanese and Indians are trooping in and cashing out big time in Lagos (Island).

Almost all major Restaurants on the Island are owned by Lebanese. Same as Hotels and Supermarkets.

They are gradually diverting to Clubs too, there is this popular Club at Oju Olobun in VI owned by a Lebanese, its lit mhen.

This is the myopia I'm talking about.

You're talking about people being wealthy in a country that is the world's Capita of poverty.

The key question is the percentage of wealthy people to tye extreme poor. The percentage of success in a poor economic environment.

Under this APC government, nigeria experienced 2 different recessions. The first of it's kind in such a short span.

But of course, keep glamorizing the few wealthy elites, as if these elites can be ever comfortable treating themselves in any of our hospitals, or their flashy cars don't get easily damaged due to our poor roads and maintainance. Or their children studying in any university in Nigeria.

Simple. Keep being wicked and senseless.

To be candid, we overrated Buhari. Devil we know is really far better than the Angel we don't know - this is exactly what PMB has thought us and same reason we shouldn't repeat same mistake with Obi.

I wasn't born when he ruled as a military man. I read how disciplined he was. How tough he was on Corruption and so on, hence my virtual support for him.

We expected too much from him but he couldn't meet up. He did try in term of Infrastructures but that's enough coz economy suffer a big hit. Though I can't blame it all on him, but he definitely should be blamed too.

I agree. I've even had this argument with BlueRayDick in the past.

The question is, people are leaving those same jobs for a reason. Why?

Some companies have even tried increasing salaries, compensation e.t.c. They only ended up making it faster for people to japa since they can now raise more money in a shorter period of time.

The presidential and national Assembly election is the same day.

The first question is how many candidates is representing LP in national Assembly elections before we even begin to talk where and where they will win or lose.
