I agree. I've even had this argument with BlueRayDick in the past.

The question is, people are leaving those same jobs for a reason. Why?

Some companies have even tried increasing salaries, compensation e.t.c. They only ended up making it faster for people to japa since they can now raise more money in a shorter period of time.

Na where your desires start thats where some peoples stop. Some people just want to live in an environment they are familiar with, attend owambe every weekend, eat amala and ofe Owerri with palm wine

How many threads have you seen with people who japa go Canada and they are complaining that despite all the good environment, they are depressed?

Many people come for vacation in America and within a few days they will start saying, This your America is boring o.

Nobody to buga, no vibes, just work work work. No cheap babes to pickup sef

I used to be seriously anti japa too and the last time I mentioned it to my immediate younger brother, he just looked at me like what is this one saying.

These days I wonder why I didn't leave much earlier.

Just like many people have japad, Many people here too just be like once I get my papers, Once my kids enter college I am relocating back to Naija

One of my former colleagues is currently in Nigeria finishing his house in Lekki his last born has 2 more yrs in High School. He said immediately his son graduates he is moving back to Nigeria cos the enjoyment he experience everytime in Naija is just too sweet

Actually on the Island, there is like a community of Naija people who relocated from UK Canada and US and hang around together regularly

I am 100% for japa. That is my personal preference

Between the people doing the 1m match and Obis children who will be the greatest beneficiary if he wins the election?

Shouldn't his own children be at the fore front of his campaign? Why is he hiding them in London? Is that not what every other politician does? What now makes him different?

Did I say Obi is different from the rest??

My question still remains the same... The Obidients Campaigning for him... Don't they have the rights to do so?? .

You guys will insult them... But when they retaliate... You'll start wailing

Anyone is free to campaign for anyone.. It's actually the Obidients that have a problem with that

Anyone not campaigning for Obi is a tribalist, a terrorist, an urchin and everything bad with Nigeria

While we are all planning to japa, Lebanese and Indians are trooping in and cashing out big time in Lagos (Island).

Almost all major Restaurants on the Island are owned by Lebanese. Same as Hotels and Supermarkets.

They are gradually diverting to Clubs too, there is this popular Club at Oju Olobun in VI owned by a Lebanese, its lit mhen.

I don't believe its profitable to actually run a club legitimately on the island.

You pay rent in forex, buy bottles in forex and sell in Naira. You buy diesel for generator and spend a fortune on light fittings and decor.

You will be forced to pass the costs to your customer but there's a point where even the most spendthrift customer will baulk, especially given the intense competition there is for his money.

Much of rhe Island is a bubble inflated by drug and fraud barons looking to park their ill gotten funds, or politically connected looting class.

That's why property prices in Lekki let alone VI or Ikoyi are divorced from reality, and have been for a long time.

The Island is a giant laundromat bruh.

This "bubble" has been going on for so long that it has become the reality. The Champaign you buy for $200 they can sell for $2K in Naija

There is a drink called Azul kind of popular in Naija clubs I heard in some places they sell a bottle for almost 1m

This is the price of Azul from my internet search. See the margin they make on it

Obis tribalism predates his candidacy. He has been calling ACN Yoruba party since 2011, detaining ElRufai for not being of Southeast extraction since 2014

This japa depends on each person's situation. It generally pays an educated guy with good skill set but there are people who will lose out if they japa. One of my guys went abroad for some post-graduate degrees and came back to be made commissioner. Another one is the go to guy for bum bum for all those top actresses and senators' wives dem. Yet another one is locked in at one health insurance scheme like that (i don't have the details). For those guys only the top earners amongst us abroad can even be near them. However the chances of having similar success increases if you are outside the country.

For me though the mere thought of those Naija roads and the insecurity dey give me headache. Being able to buy houses, cars e.t.c easily without tying my money down is also important. It is about more than money though money is a major factor.

Bruh I sabi Azul. Infact I'm well stocked grin

When I was in Abj couple weeks back, I bought Azul 500k. That's 250 dollar markup true, but how much is excise duty?

And with the value if the Naira now toilet paper, how many price hikes can you deliver to your patrons as a club owner before your margins are squeezed like pure water?

There are certain professions that I can tell you that you are better off abroad at least if money is your target like me. e.g Physician, nurses IT professional jobs that are not domain specific. But for things like Law you might almost have to go through law school or just take the NY bar but mostly be restricted to immigration law and servicing fellow immigrants like you

For me the decision to support japa factored in many things which money making was number 1, security, infrastructures and economic stability were also key

750 dollars per square per annum

Say you take 1000 sqm spot for a club, that's 750k dollars in annual rent for a small club space
