Imagine the black Hitler trying to equate Tinubu and obi in terms of responsibility after office.

It's almost as if Tinubu supporters have cognitive dissonance. On one hand, they would appraise the godfatherism of Tinubu, the fact that he has Lagos in his palms and ascribe him as the savior and messiah of today's Lagos, now that they're questions of authority in the state, these same people are shying away from the narrative that Tinubu has complete political control of Lagos. No be juju be that?

I never said dumping bodies in rivers could be justified, my point was that there was no way those killings can be linked to Peter Obi. I know from first-hand experience that police officers do catch and kill, especially for hardened criminals. How many persons that have family members that were involved in kidnapping or robbery will go to the governor to complain that they can't find the body of their family member, some of them will even be happy to be rid of the family member.

CSP Nwafor was a junior police officer, he had the head of his area command to report to, and that area commander reported to the commissioner of police. If I'd fault Peter Obi, it's for not conducting LGA elections early enough...Azukuwu was one division, there's no way CSP Nwafor would have been steady killing indigenes of a particular community and it won't get to an LGA chairman who would make reports to a governor.

I am telling you it is not right.

You came to show me links of my point too.

Thank you very much.

So at least, you agree that dumping bodies in a river cannot be justified

I gave you an instance with names regarding known criminals terrorizing my childhood residence..

They have come in an out of jail several times due to leakages.

They continue with theur mayhem wenever dey are freed until they were disgracefully abd rightly ended......

I get what you're saying and I feel it.
Infact when the endsars protest began, I recall everyone on the Chelsea thread agreeing that the initial impact of the SARS officers were very much felt. The kidnappings that were rampant were put to am end. That was the period that Mikel obi's father was kidnapped, ngozi okonjo iwealas mum was kidnapped. Even Peter Edochie was kidnapped.

SARS came in and dealth decisively with them but unfortunately their impunity went out of hand.

I can even remember Ibime or so relaying history of how SARS saga were looking just like the bakassi boys and gave a run down of their history.

So yes, everyone agrees with the sentiment but nigeria has shown us that once any security outfit begins acting with impunity to stop them becomes a herculean task.

Ezzu corpses were killed by SARS and thats the reason for the Endsars protest

Who will police kill in Nigeria and not claim they are criminals, thats why they always say before you execute someone you have to take them through a legal process

A fair opinion i can accept.

Remember that the beginning of this discussion was why Lagos was the focus of Police brutality, when it happened in other states too.

Everybody remembered Lekki. Nobody remembered Ezu river.

Not fair, in my opinion

No law permits that you kill people and dump them in rivers.

Even if its legally okay to you, it has serious environmental effects on the communities around.

I dont know what you need their nature for,
when no law supports it in the first place

How can you seriously be comparing a massacre in Lekki that was streamed live and in 2020 to a discovery of bodies that happened in some backwater town in Anambra in 2013? Maybe you dey talk am for bants sha, but how many persons for Azukwu dey Twitter? grin

Host Lekki Twitter hangout and host Azukwu Twitter hangout make we see. grin

Way more persons were killed in Zaria by the Nigerian army, who's talking about it? The killings in Odi, Bayelsa, who dey talk about am?

I think u are mixing things up .

The protest against police brutality happened in most states of the federation. I saw videos of the protest in Osun , Oyo , Rivers etc back then .

In Lagos it happened at Ikeja , Lekki and other parts of the state . Why Lagos state owned turned brutal was the fact that Lagos state government felt it’s had enough by first introducing non state actors into the protest; when that failed the police officers went guns blazing and orile police station was burnt on the eve of the shootings in Lekki , police men were attacked in Mushin and they exchanged gun fire with touts , etc .

Sanwoolu declared a curfew that didn’t even allow people get to their homes before it was enforced that night, the protesters chose to remain at their location knowing fully well they won’t make it home before the curfew starts and the soldiers did their thing .

On another note I still wonder why all the celebrities who were at the venue earlier that day found their way home prior to the curfew and subsequent shootings ; only for the protesters and only Dj Switch on the receiving end . I mean one of those Psquare Guys was there that day earlier , AY the comedian and so on. I believe those guys had info and were just telling people from the comfort of their house to raise flag and sing national anthem. Na why I no dey follow people do Aluta even when I was a student . I no go allow them kill the only son of my family just laidat

I'm sure if Nairaland has a trends table, you'd see Azukwu trending so the people are being remembered, happy now?

Nigerian's across the country are using EndSARS as their rallying point for police brutality for obvious reasons, and Agbadorians are using Azukwu SARS killing as their rallying point for police brutality. Both are trending and both are being discussed.

What of victims of extra-judicial killings in New Benin police division, why's no one trending that?

U say we can’t blame him for anything that happened that day ? He miscalculated thinking show of force would disperse those guys in Lekki but didn’t know he was setting tone for non state actors to take the center stage afterwards. We all saw how it ended tho.

Just look at this scenario. Dayo is a part of a minority group in America, just like you are in Australia.

Two of you despite being immigrants enjoy your fundamental human right to the maximum, dayo himself takes part in and votes in America.

But this same person is telling fellow Nigerians in Lagos to be forcibly kicked out. How does one rationalize the sentiment?
He strongly believes that some people of "certain blood' shouldn't participate in elections in Lagos since it's not their land, but he himself votes in America, another person's land, how does one reconcile the cognitive dissonance?

The rest, especially this Raumdeuter fellow are just something else. Raumdeuter's old posts on this forum are very disturbing to read.

One thing is certain, and that is Nigeria needs to be divided. The tribalism in this country is too much. I put it to y'all that if Nigeria doesn't get divided, or go back to the regional system of governance we were practicing during the 1st Republic, Nigeria would remain the same even in the next 100years.

As for your point about Nigeria, I strongly believe it can work, we have a good leadership vacuum, that's why things are bad, fix our leadership problem. Put in someone that organize a good system and we're good to go. Things will fall into place.
Customs will remit as they're supposed to. Eradicate corruption in government parastatals. Put intelligent and astute technocrats to oversee them and watch how our country starts performing. Nigeria is a goldmine waiting to be rightfully explored.
