I believe Watchtower uses proclaiming False prophecies to create Fear and recruit new members. When you create Fear mongering, it arouses fear in people and make them join Cults. This is why when Watchtower proclaimed that the world would end in 1975, the Cult experienced high rate of new memberships and also more money in their pockets. When the prophecy failed, the same number that joined the Cult left.

This is their new tactic. We are in final part of the final part of the last days, just before the last days of the last days. It's only psychotic individuals that take these words seriously. Who in their right mind would make this kind of statement? JW leaders are not psychologically sound. They can't risk fixing dates now or else they will loose too many members.

Just look at the pic below with the circled verses. In their recent Watchtower magazine talking about signs of the last days, they quoted these circled verses but left or skipped the verses that talk about False Prophets.
