Lagos was a colonial territory where slave trade was at it peak,lot of slave masters brought their slaves from far away states to trade,hence the beginning of modernisation of the state because of it nearness to the ocean.

Lagos was a formal capital of the country for a long time before it was changed hence also the development we see today.

Take the capital territory to even Jigawa today and in the next 10-15 years,one will see massive development.
