A waste of time drama! Two grown adults who have feelings for each other refuse to acknowledge their feelings and spend almost 16 episodes dragging emotions and playing push and pull mtcheww. The only thing good about this drama was the cast and acting. I later learnt that there was a lot of production issues. The director dropped out due to creative differences with the production company but it was later resolved and he came back after a while. The writer was also switched and two new writers came on board. I guess that's why the story sucked so bad

Not so Fun fact : this drama special has 4 episodes and so I will not be able to do my usual post. I'll just summarize

Jang Hyun Sung lives in North Korea with his wife hwang su Jeong and their baby. One day he suddenly disappears. The north Korean government discover that he's actually a South Korean spy who works for their intelligence agency and he has gone back to south Korea abandoning his "fake" family.

The north Korean government arrest hwang su Jeong and her son believing they knew he was a spy. While in prison, hwang su Jeong is trained to become a spy. Her mission is to go to south Korea as a spy and convince Jang Hyun Sung to return to North Korea. When her son turns 13, they hold him captive and send her to south Korea threatening to kill him if she fails her mission.

Choi Soo Jong is a talented South Korean detective and a single father to his teenage son who's hard to handle. As Choi Soo Jong is always busy with his detective work and his son is a troublemaker, their house is always unkempt. He decides to find a housekeeper and meets hwang su Jeong at a restaurant he frequents. He falls in love at first sight with her and asks her to become his housekeeper not knowing that she and the restaurant owner are north Korean spies.

So the chase begins, Jang Hyun Sung is now a respected police chief and Choi Soo jong's boss. Choi Soo Jong is in love with hwang su Jeong but she's using him to get information about her ex husband and the Korean defense bla bla bla, his teenage son hates her cos he doesn't want anyone to replace his late mom. Jang Hyun Sung doesn't want hwang su Jeong in South Korea cos he's scared she'll expose the fact that he had a family in North Korea.

The drama is nice, of course truths come out, Choi Soo Jong and hwang su Jeong end up together, they're able to rescue her son and live as one big happy family in south Korea. At first we see Jang Hyun Sung as a terrible guy that left a family and chose his job but we later get to understand that he made the best choice he could cos the south korean government was willing to kill her. He did love her and his son but he couldn't throw away the weight of his duty. I felt bad for him cos he was the only one in the drama who didn't get a happy ending.

I would rate it 8.5/10

Even though it was predictable, and they were some foolish moves by so called detectives, it was still really enjoyable

Just realized yoo yeon suk and moon GA young's upcoming drama is adapted from a romance novel and according to the people that read it, it's a very good book so hopefully the drama will be as nice. I trust the cast, I just hope the story will deliver

P.s: happy birthday to my forever no 1 bias in bestie haeryung, heo Jung min oppa and my baby park Solomon, I don't know why he decided to make his stage name lomon (eww) but as far as I'm concerned, he'll be Solomon to me

My (hopefully) unbiased opinion : Nam woohyun's song is an excellent ballad. Lol I like it a lot cos there's even a funny incident that happened. So I had listened to this song for almost 2 years before I realized he sang a bit of English at the start of the chorus. Lmao everytime I listened to it I always wondered what he was saying there thinking it was Hangul until a day I listened to it with headphones at a very high volume and then I realized he was saying "I have no one to blame but myself". Lol anyway so everytime I hear the song, I remember the incident and I smile a little which makes me love the song even more

Changmin's song is also a ballad. It's what he does best. It's a nice song

If I had to score both songs would get 5/5

Love in contract has ended thank God, it was just there but not boring Sha. A few things that made me roll my eyes tho, the whole mother reveal thing was anticlimactic, is the default function of that phone to record conversations? Only the phone, recorded yoo madam admitting to being Jamie's mom, recorded Hae jin's weird brother being weird. H for HAIGOO. Seriously though this is 2022, why are writers still giving us dramas where the main couple have to break up for a totally unnecessary reason? Can we leave that cliche with dramas of the early 2000s-2015. For goodness sake, your drama does not have to be 16 episodes, it's lack of material that makes writers feed us that rubbish. Thank God the breakup here lasted for a few minutes not a few episodes lol. P.s: kopiko is the new subway when it comes to annoying ppl. Lmao if I see one more irritating kopiko ppl in a drama again, I fit cry hahaha

For an action thriller, shadow detective is actually turning out to be boring. I get the story, the cast is good but there's something about the execution that's just boring. I didn't see the end of episode 6 coming tho, so is jin goo the friend or is he there for something else. By the way it's supposed to end next week but I think I read somewhere that it'd have 2 seasons. I haven't confirmed yet but I guess we'll see by next week
