So it is okay to discriminate/disqualify based on ethnicity?
The Presidency should come to the South, abi na only North get qualified candidate to rule Nigeria. I didn't criticise Kwankwaso in my write-up cos i believe he is a good candidate, but a Northerner should not be replacing a Northerner as President in 2023.

If u are wondering why some certain crimes have not abaited in some states/cities it's mostly due to the attitude of law enforcement agents in carrying out their duties.

Yesterday I was on the road for most of the day and I was trying to navigate an event venue inside Ota, Ogun State. From the moment I entered ogún state u see so many checkpoints and u will surely be flagged Down. After asking u to check ur booth and finding nothing incriminating, the policeman will seize u up and confirm whether u are a driver or u own the vehicle. They then ask u for weekend money in order not to waste Ur time.

₦200, ₦300, ₦500 that's how they collect it. I could be a ritualist, pay those aforementioned fees at checkpoints and not get my vehicle thoroughly checked for harvested organs. Now I understand when I see Ogun State pop up in the news for incidence of ritual killings. God knows the numbers that go unreported

All of us are hypocrites sha, Same people faulting PDP for having a northern candidate were thesame people defending a same faith ticket. APC can field a ticket that give them a better chance of winning the election but PDP shouldn't do thesame.

It's interesting you used the bolded as an example cos Ota is known to be a Ritualist paradise. The whole town is relentlessly and unashamedly fetish

Funny enough, this same thing happened to me last week on my way to Minna from Abuja. When I got to suleja I was stopped by some FRSC guys and after presenting all they asked for, the guy checking said "Find something for your boys make we use do weekend"

OK ooo. With your years of Experience in politics, especially in Lagos as you claimed, yet you're tripping for that?!
Truly if am to go with my years of experience as a party man, Tinubu will be my candidate today cos i would be biased. I followed and adored that man until he started imposing candidates everywhere in Lagos. I have been to almost every campaign rallies on the mainland that Tinubu was to be in attendance, i was at First Gate when he came to commission Amuwo Odofin Local Govt Councils Secretariat built my Hon Sekoni. The site now sit MCC Hospital, was involved in mobilising people for Hon James Faleke during 2015 election rally that held in Ikeja where Ambode was officially presented as the Party candidate for Governor. I have been to Burdillion 5 times, the last was when we went to settle a matter involving our Candidate who won the Primary but was substituted by order of Baba Sope. I try not to give out much about myself here, cos i have seen how people can use that info against you. I also saw afrodoc's post on how someone on nairaland tried reporting him to his superiors, how people can be so emotionally moved on a faceless forum beats me. I like Tinubu as a person but dislike him as a Politician. I want Obi to win, but if he fail Nigerians will vote him out in 2027. At least politician will know that the power to elect belong to the people. I have seen enough of the same people messing up the country...

There is what we call Gentleman Agreement bro

If BAT ain't on the Ballot, and Obi is contesting against Atiku and Kwankwaso, I'll definitely be rooting Obi.

It's turn of southern Candidate to rule Nigeria.

Shikena
Hypocrisy Hypocrisy
Based on your analogy - Then BAT should not be on the ballot; it should be zoned to SE being the only region in the south that hasn't produced President or even VP; after SouthSouth 5yrs President 3yrs VP.
SouthWest 8yrs President 8yrs VP ( Moreoso isn't Osinbajo using VP slot belonging to your man Tinubu?)

We are here - so no need to disqualify anyone based on their region or ethnicity, we are all now agreeing to a free for All, But make we all remember how we got here, especially those of us that grew up in the 80s & 90s to the constant furore of Northern domination of Power, hence the gentlemanly agreement was crafted, and I doubt the political gladiators from the SE, SS then would have agreed with power rotation meaning North and SWest, hence the Afenifere endorsement of Obi even though it doesnt carry much weights its smart politics or posturing.

If Atiku wins; after 4years there's nothing stopping APC from producing a northerner as presidential candidate in 2027, na den una go appreciate the value an Obi contesting as 3rd force in 2023.
Anyway sha - truth be told the man on the street cares less about the ethnicity of Mr.President if his quality of life is improved.

As for a Northerner succeeding another I don't dwell on identity politics they distract from main issues.

Identity politics is the reason Nigeria created federal character commission. There is a reason why students 4rm some states must score 120, 138 before they can be admitted to Unity School why some with 2mark or 9mark will be offered automatic admission in the same country.

Well it can be argued that most of the power sector has been decentralized and the government is more or less a "regulator".

It still make sense to have someone that knows the law and can drive policy to man the sector.

This is problem with Southerners to be honest..... what the hell is SE, SS, SW? If power is zoned to North, you won't ever see Northerners crying its turn of NE, NW, NC, coz to average Northerners - North is North.

What Lugard even amalgamated were basically Northern and Southern Protectorates. Shehu Shagari, late Musa Yar'adua, Muhammadu Buhari are from North West, Musa Yar'dua and Muhammadu Buhari are even from same State, yet no single Northerner wail over it.

PDP thrown their Ticket to Southern Nigeria in 1999. OBJ and Alex E. contested it and OBJ won. Its never micro-zoned to SW only.

APC zoned their Ticket to North in 2015, strong Contestants are from NW and NE respectively. It has never been micro-zoned to a particular geographical zone before - so where and what is hypocrisy here for God's sake!

Southerners are problem of this Country to say the truth.

Well you have a point sha, but I think an Engineer would still have been ideal for that position, knowing whoever would have gotten the gig would most likely have administrative experience.

That said, there's been too many shit appointments by APC and PDP, all in a bid to reward party loyalty.

...... may I ask you just 2 Questions? Did he perform excellently when he was Governor or not? Did he indeed develop the Masterplan of modern Lagos or not?
1. He performed as Governor giving the limited resources during his time, just as Peter Obi performed well also giving the limited resource.
2. He developed a master plan for Lagos that Fashola followed and Sanwo-Olu is currently following, although Ambode deviated from the plan.
He raised the IGR of Lagos State when OBJ seized Local Govt Allocation cos of the creation of LCDAs, but to be honest the pace of development is not in proportion to the ₦40b monthly IGR officially declared and allocation from FAAC. Tinubu is holding Lagos back from true progress, and him, his family and cronies like Baba Eto are all feeding fat off Lagos resource. Roads are terrible now, and Lagos/Badagry expressway is taking too long to complete (i blame Ambode for this sha).
He was the first Governor in Nigeria to officially use an SUV, a Mercedes G63 and other Governors followed, he was the first to introduced that evil bogus pension scheme for himself and other past governors and their Deputies, other State followed. Agbero menace is another issue, now if you stop your private car to give somebody a lift, Agberos will surround your car and demand for money claiming you carried a passenger. If you don't settle the matter or settle them on time, they will damage your side mirror or any other part of the car...

Well the current minister for power Saleh Mamman is an Engr.

All over the world, any party that wins election appoints their party members into positions. What we should be more concerned is if those appointed are competent or not.
