Except the translation of her post wasn't clear to me, She didn't even speak against Islam. Venting out of anger for her coursemates to stop posting religious messages on the group didn't make her deserve such a gruesome death irrespective of how she passed the message.
JASONjnr:
Aisha should do her activism and allow other people to have their opinion of things....We mustn't reason alike.,

The dude in question was in support of Deborah's murder..... Deborah was killed for speaking against Islam and their religion ...And he supported it...

Now he's locked up for criticizing Buhari's wife...

Infact, I had the sympathy over his arrest, but right now ...He can rot his ass I. the jail for all I care ..

When i saw rhe tweet he made about the death of Deborah, shit i withdrew my support from him seriously dude is sick in the head, and deserves whatever treatment Aisha is melting on him.

The internet never forget, that tweet he made also shows how tribalistic he his,and made mockery of Deborah's family as a whole because she is a Christian.

Everybody is right on this post, those of us sitting on the fences should not be considered.
Exactly! Those supporting aisha buhari because of what the young man allegedly tweeted about Deborah are no better than aisha Buhari in their attitude- they may even be ipob's "unknown" gunmen.

You are the bigot

The issue is once it is done to one person it can be done to anybody
The fight is for what kind of country we want to have and not for the person

When we fight for the rights of a person who is first in queue it is not because he is a good person. We are fighting to establish rules and order

I remember a few years ago . When Kemi Olunloyo was jailed for many months. Nigerians did not talk because they hated her. I talked .

On this Nairaland

The fight is that we do not want people jailed for insults. Why ? because that kind of law only applies to poor people

Femi Fani-Kayode spends his life insulting people and has never for one day been arrested. Now we are hearing of courts saying people should be flogged for insults
This same Aisha Buhari called governor Fayose a Mad dog and who knows whether that is why he was arrested too.
Nnamdi Kanu called Buhari a pedophile in connection to Aisha Buhari and where is he now?
We do not think anyone should be jailed for defamation. I think the maximum penalty is one year in prison we would like to see that scrapped and before then no one should spend time in prison until sentenced and all appeals exhausted. IG police and Chief of Army staff sentenced but no action

Nnamdi Kanu ordered released no action. So government chooses which orders to obey. When we fight for freedom of speech it does not mean we agree with what is being said

But there is indeed an irony
The victim opposed the freedom of speech of Deborah and supported her killing still the fight is not and should not be about individuals
A lovely writeup

As I said yesterday, two wrongs does not make a right. We need not glorify what they are doing to him just because of his past deed. The two should be isolated by it merit, if not they may do same to another person soon because we allow this to fly.
Please let us learn and those in leadership position to take us on a ride. Know that they are cooking so many bad thing against the downtrodden, don't swallow what they are cooking for us.

I would have agreed with you if only the coin was flipped , and Deborah happens to be your sister.

if u really want to be sincere with yourself you will understand that you can’t just insult people and go . If the person feels the need to arrest you , under the law he or she is justified so that u don’t paint him or her black . But if the person decides to let it slide that’s a different case . People should mind what they say if u don’t have prove .

I had sympathy on the guy initially but now let him rot in jail for all l care, l wish him more painful death than Deborah,,

These days the evil that men do lives with them ,

Had it been it was Jonathan wife that arrested that guy, by now protest upon protest would have eroded in the North.

No.. you made 2 conflicting points. Why would u talk from both sides of ur mouth? Adamu threatening to deal with people that wears Deborah's shirt is already shows that Adamu is against people airing their views and opinion. Why would u also blame Aisha Yesufu for attacking him? because its obvious he is trampling on people's right. Thats her work as a human right activist. Lol...you have a big comprehensive issues...Aisha wasn't attacking him but was questioning people who demanded for his justice and decided to have a different view over his tweet on Deborah...

I asked that Aisha should allow people to stick to their opinions because we chose to support him and asked for justice for him and now decided not to support him anymore because he was an extremist who supported the murder of Deborah...

Oga stop it otherwise an invisible spirit shall give you a dirty slap over there right away. Which peaceful religion still supports killing of people in this 21st century? Which peaceful religion still support Shariah mode of justice in this modern age? Better shut up your mouth there.

Your stupidity is first class. Sharia law is the best law the world needs, it is strict against all the atrocities being commuted these days. And for your information, anyone could claim to be a Muslim by name but by actions they are not because they do not follow the ways of the holy prophet (S.A.W). We have been many things being played out by your religious leaders which are insanity pro max. Anyone who claims to be a Muslim must follow the ways of the Holy prophet otherwise such a person is not a Muslim. Islam says give in charity not to already wealthy people but to the poor who don't have. But your religion, you keep giving to those who live better than you, is that nor madness, repent and accept Islam so that you can have peace of mind.... Remember, there is no repentance after death.

Muslims up north are extremists...

My parents were based in Niger state, but had to relocate down to Lagos in 1981, due to their violent nature.
where in niger state? minna the capital of niger state is a very city. atimes i wonder if it is not same islam that muslims in minna and those in the far north like sokoto, kano, katsina, yobe borno etc are practising.
they must have relocated due to other reasons in 1981 - things were so peaceful in the the north in 1981 naa.
