The Manager's job is to find the best available.

If Westerhof reasoned like this, he would have waited for A European club to sign Amokachi before inviting him to the team.

A coach who can not identify quality before the players break through in Europe is mediocre and a waste of time. We can't keep waiting for European clubs to build our team. That is a futile process.
don’t bring westahof to this discussion. When westerhof took over super eagles then how many Nigerian players were in main stream european leagues?

This is 2022 not 1989

Na this kind out dated mentality mk eguavoen carry una go nations cup and deployed 94 tactics and formation cheesy

Now you hit the point on the head. We did not have great players in the major football scenes. So Westerhof worked with the best at his disposal.

Now we do not have a midfield conductor in the major top scene and your advice is that we should not work with the best available to us.

Your solution is that we should wait for one to emerge in the future.

Kelechi Nwakali is the best we have available to play that role. We are doing ourselves a disservice coming up with flimsy excuses why we should deny the best available the opportunity to help mend our midfield.

Who is the best available?

If it is Nwakali, get him into the team and stop playing games.

I doubt because if religion plays a role in their decisions countries like Senegal,Cameroon,Mali etc won’t be losing their most talented diaspora kids to France

Another big factor is having a working and competent FA where players entitlements is a priority with good infrastructures and coaching team
I think Major has a point though. If you look at Boufal's tweet after the victory over Spain, he clearly called it a victory for arabs and muslims. So I think Arab Muslims are a bit different from other muslims. In the western world, they really huddle together. Now in West Africa, while Senegal and Mali have a lot if Muslims, they are still a secular society and somehow have a sizable number of Christian's around them, but not with the Arabs. Also I will be honest with you, in the western nations, arab muslims are looked at suspiciously by the whites especially and of cos the arabs know.

Please o, me am learning o, did Liverpool have a midfield conductor when they won the EPL and UCL, I don't believe players like Henderson, Fabinho, Milner, wijnaldum are midfield conductors. Yes Thiago is but they haven't won the league or UCL since they signed thiago.

So, who do you propose to play as a midfield conductor for our team. Someone who can control the midfield from deep with short tidy passes and efficient long balls.
oga am not proposing anyone. We have an iwobi in the team who in the same position hv been doing excellently well in the almighty epl

Like I said in one of my post above it’s jpes responsibility to pick his best midfield trio to make the team to work

He is blessed with the likes of iwobi, ndidi,Onyeka, onyedikachi, aribo etc so it’s his duty to figure out the 3 that’s fits better to how he wants the team to play

Ejaria and his likes won’t add anything to this current team so let’s lessen the hype and noise pls

Others countries dey look for decent players doing it in better leagues but here we re sticking to dead woods who re yet to perform for over 5-6 seasons in any major European league

To me super eagles best midfield trio for now is ndidi(dm),onyeka(b2b) and iwobi(CAM)

Having iwobi ndidi and nwakali/ejaria in the middle means una wan use stress and excessive work kill ndidi

Blueelf, nothing justifies the attack on your family but do stop throwing snide comments at fabyom. Don't put yourself in the position where a particular moniker is your enemy.

We don't need all this toxicity. I no be peacemaker oo because I enjoy some rofo rofo fight once in a while but this between the two of you appears very personal. Make we fight as mutuals not as enemies.
I gat you, my good brother! I don't have problems with anyone. I don't abuse nor curse anyone. But here you have a guy that continues to cry and wail on my mention. I don't get it. I believe we can agree to disagree without being rude. Rudeness to people is a sign of lack of home training. Simple.
This is more than a faceless forum. I met tbaba here, until his demise I didn't see him face to face but he sent gifts to my son here in the United States. Don't think cos this is a faceless forum you can mess with people anyhow. You don't know where you gonna meet. My2cent!

So you don't know our midfield is suffering when it comes to controlling the middle and stringing quality passes.

When you think of how to solve that problem, let us know.

We are not other teams. We have lots of football carriers but very few controllers, let alone having them in better teams.

As you can see, you are fighting against he only one we have that plays with a controlling technique but have no option.

You are just opposing, without proposing a solution.

Maybe, the Super Eagles are the ones that need to up their ante and set up a midfield that can keep the ball and create chances for the offence.

Haha oga Major, make I correct Oracle small, you fit change the Kingdom to States and the prediction may have a chance, lol. Football here in the US for kids is capital intensive and stressful for the parents. As for me, am not ready to pay thousands of dollars just so my son will be playing football at a high level and I can't be driving everywhere or flying around because of football. One oyinbo once joked that, most US parents spend a lot of money on sports for their kids in an effort to at least get a college scholarship, according to him, the scholarship money is already in the money used to attempt to earn it for the child. Bottom line if God says na im way of cos but nna men, I no see dat kain talent inside d boy jare grin

I will not call them failure.
Coach Eguavon's team for instance, played the best attacking football I have watched from the Super Eagles for a decade or more.

What the NFF and the fans fail to understand is that these Coaches need time to setup their team playing philosophy for the players to adapt.

Give these Nigerian Coaches the right motivation and long term plan and see them produce results.

The aim should not be to get results in the short run. The hundreds of millions we have wasted over these mushrooms foreign coaches with not corresponding results would have been better utilized if the team had been trusted into the hands of our local Coaches.

You hire Nigerian Coaches today, pay them peanuts. The next 24months or less, you sack them to employ a foreign Coach who will reap us of thousands of Dollars with no meaningful result.

Give Coach Eguavon and Siasia a contract of 5 years and the enabling environment let them give you results.
I agree wholeheartedly with you. See ehn there's something about Nigerians. There's no field of human endeavor that you will not find a Nigerian shining and setting the pace. Is it literature? Is it music? Medicine, Art, science?

Eguavoen's Super Eagles played well. He was never given opportunity to learn and correct his mistakes.
