Government should start making genotype test mandatory starting from JSS1,SSS1 and university stages of our academic pursuit.
Everything government government government.
The people should also take responsibility.
There's nothing stopping parents or would-be partners from doing genotype tests.

There are no vaccines because it is not caused by a pathogen and it is a hereditary condition. Basically their red blood cells are shaped like a sickle(hence the name) which is an adaptation that gives the patient some resilience to malaria(hence the higher prevalence of the condition in equatorial/tropical areas) and simultaneously reduces the cells ability to absorb oxygen, which is what makes the condition so fatal.

Their parents should have been invited too, so they see what they're putting their kids into

You might not leave real estate or shares for your kids, but try as much as possible not to leave them with sickle cell

We're all born to die, but we have to first live
Some very incompetent doctors and lab scientists/technicians should have been invited too because some of these sickle cell patients are as a result of wrong diagnosis. I know of a couple that the woman is AS and her husband who is also AS was lied to that the man is AA.

Genetics!
It’s like asking for a vaccine to treat being born black or vaccine to treat Albino, cure gap teeth, dimples and so forth - They’re all natural genetic anomaly which has nothing to do with vaccines.
