Maybe not quite. Like AndSunGorilla said Messi is one of a kind.

What was the difference between Mikel and Messi in that tourney, could you tell the difference?

Some even argued that Mikel was the better player. Mikel was just beautiful

If Mikel continued had continued in his natural offensive role what would you think will become of him.

Just win and you will be crowned king. All I know is that this thing we watch on TV looking all soft is hard. Varane gassed out. That's how hard it is.

Di Maria was the one putting pressure on the French defense, he kept Kunde busy so that he could not help the attack. But Scaloni made the error of removing him and then Deschamps responded by throwing in Coman. He lost sha and nothing else matters
Fine margins like someone told me recently, France lost by penalties which is simply a game of chance. We have all forgotten how France almost got the winning goal in the dying seconds, if that had gone in, we will be singing another song now. You have spoken well sire.

Thank you jare. Perhaps if France had turned up the heat from the onset, it would have been hot. Anyway I wanted an epic final and I got it.

We were making reference to the comments of Jean Louis Marie Le Pen in 1998 he was 69 then at that TIME. He is NOW a relic of the past.
You are right. Have you seen the story about the racist messages sent to Coman and co?

How the Nigerian league can develop.

Can't nff get investors from quatar, Saudi Arabia, china etc. Also the man city group can buy one of our clubs.
We don't need our money for the league to run. We just need investors.
But nff are stupid and myopic. How will a league attract investors when it is not televised.
Anyway with our global reputation in football, we can easily attract investors. We have global stars like kanu, okocha, Mikel obi etc. They can easily market us to the world

Nice point.
It is not really about being televised.
How many people do watcht NPFL matches?
what about stadia?
The corrupted officials nko?
The thuggish attitude of the fans on the losing side.
We need to refurbish the league. A Nigerian billionaire will rather invest outside than in our league. SMH

There was little or no difference if anything Mikel Obi looked better.

However at age 30 Mikel was no longer able to perform at a high level. They are age mates and Messi still has a few years left at the highest level.

Coming to think of it I'm trying to think of any of our players above 30 that can still perform at the highest level only player who comes to mind is Ighalo.

Etebo is 27 not even 30 yet and he doesn't seem to be in the prime of his football but is rather diminishing.

I really cannot explain this loss of quality form so early in a number of our players.

Kante would have rendered MESSI impotent?
Is it the same Kante that faced MESSI and later on fainted at Chelsea training or another Kante?
With all the players France had in 2018, including Kante and Pogba which is far better than their 2022 squad, they were only able to win a less fancied and individual playing Argentina 4-3.
Even if France had Zidane and Henry, ARGENTINA would have still beaten them on Sunday.

Kante is not just a good tackler it's actually his anticipation and reading the game. Messi would not have had the freedom he got to knit passes and do 1-2s if a fit Kante was in that team.

N'Golo Kanté is 31 focused, disciplined and super fit, he will block off the space and marshall Messi out of the game IMO

You see the npfl is an historical brand. It has a long history of excellence which can easily be leveraged on and bring back the fans.
This is a league that produced okocha, taribo west, Ahmed Musa, kanu nwankkwo etc.
It also has tradional teams like shooting stars and so the older generation can even be drawn to it.
It has a lost pedigree that can be leveraged on. Also, we can invite our old players like ogeyi onazzi to play for us.
People will come because those memories are still with them and the older generation can connect with the younger generation with this.
It's all marketing brother. The legacy is there to leverage on and it is something

if it’s the older generation I will say it’s possible but this new generation I don’t think so

For investors to recoup their investment tickets to games need to be raised to atleast 3k-5k and can an average Nigerian afford that every weekend judging by how bad the economy is currently?

Kante na iron na
He’s built different
If France had him and Pogba in the team trust me they would have retained their title
Messi was clearly free to do his magic in that game

To answer the bold directly I would say it's a combination of football age phenomenon, poor foundation/training at the beginning of their careers and lack of ambition.

As an experienced football watcher you know that in most cases though with a few exceptions players usually improve and get better as they age so it's plausible that a lot of our footballers when they were playing well were probably at their peak age so down turn in form is most probably diminishing returns.

A lot of our footballers also didn't get proper football education to maximize their innate talent. Look at Ahmed Musa for instance blessed with terrifying pace and finishing ability but with abysmal technique in other areas of his game which I put down to poor foundation. Osimhen had a little of that same issue but he's has improved tremendously and is currently on the right trajectory.

Lack of Ambition is self explanatory. Someone like Jayjay for instance could have been one of the greatest African players ever if he had the mind set and focus of someone like E'too for example however Okocha was mostly content to be an entertainer for most of his career. By the time he got serious age wasn't on his side.

The truth is that nobody is gonna say fifa ain’t seeing what’s going on in our league.

Because amaju is always rubbing with football elites
So there’s no way he wouldn’t have considered cutting a deal with fifa or even these Qatari powerhouses.

Help out our league till it’s self sustainable in the end we’ll give you developed players or payback in installments anything just cut a deal that will help even if it’s half of our clubs to have an average facility and equipment.

Even if it’s to sign a deal with the devil do it.

We already got the reputation that Nigerian player is African finest specimen

Let’s back that up
