How did he get just 1-count?
My first question also. At the very least they should have added manslaughter, excessive use of force, a lot of other charges. Because if the prosecution can't prove beyond reasonable doubt that this man actually intended to kill her, he just might walk free.

Make dem light the guy abeg. Make him join the woman

Did you read the article at all?

Mr Ahmed said he heard a gunshot.

Since it happened behind him, the Attorney General wanted him to make certain that it was a gunshot (and not any other type of sound) he heard.

I said it!
I was telling my colleague the other day that there's more to this case that it's best to calm down.

It's either the driver didn't stop and infuriated the policemen or the policemen were assassins cos it doesn't work that way anymore.

Now, the first one - the driver didn't stop
Second , the car had no plate number

From the look of things , the family is connected, so the Police has no right to stop them or they were afraid of being stopped by the Police for driving a car without a plate number or a case of accidental discharge.

For the so sensitive emotional beings that will say plenty- you are welcome

But Nigerians too should try to do the right thing all the time to avoid issues like this one. No plate number and refusal to stop for police officers. This doesn't portray us as law abiding citizens. Nonetheless, that didn't justify the shooting and killing.

Is murder a joke to you? That one count pass some 100 counts put together.

I get the severity of that count, but I was expecting charges in line of his role as law enforcement against professional conduct, not adhering to ethics, misuse of firearm, something to act as deterrent to those who may not go as far as murder.

But let's be frank, this woman may have contributed to her death. How would you disobey authority when flagged down. Moreover, the car had no plate number. Obviously she felt since she's lawyer she can do and undo. This was how a custom officer was killed by a soldier after they declined to stop.

Whoever you're please respect authority to avoid stories that touch.
Shut up, just shut up, will that warrant to kill, I wonder what kind of evil blood flows for una vein, chai....and how are you sure there was no plate number hun, don't you see they are trying to twist the whole story, if when you kill for self defence, there is still punishment for that, not flag a car down, he refused then the next is to shoot, mhennn.....I weep for una

Ask una Tinubu naa Shebi na him get Lagos
Someone is killed and you are playing politics. The name of the defendant doesn't sound to be of Lagos or Osun origin and Tinubu isn't GCFR yet. Tinubu is blamed when a south southern or south eastern kills so long it happens in Lagos.

Common, have some decency.

You have accepted all the nonsense the police have vomited. Even if the car had no plate number, is it by firing at them that that should be the proper action to take? Two wrongs can never make a right.

This so unprofessional by the police. What they should have done was to pursue the suspected vehicle pull it over and force the passengers out of the vehicle. The police is only allowed to fire guns when suspects attack them or try to overpower and disarm them.

There's a lot of emotions involved in this case, and rightly so. But emotions do not win a case before an unbiased judge. Everything will still have to be based on evidence. I just hope the attorney general's office prepared very well before rushing this case to court. Because from what I'm seeing now from the witness, the case is already becoming "less straightforward"
1. The witness heard the gunshot, he said he wasn't looking, so that doesn't really prove the defendant shot her
2. The deceased driver outrightly flouted the law by not having an identifying number plate, by not stopping when flagged down by the police. He could claim he thought they were armed robbers.

I just pray the defence has many unbiased witnesses, not just those that were in the car but onlookers and passers by also.

I believe inspector general of police should be bundled into jail along with this Ahmed and the the killer Vandi.

I thought they kept on saying the IG has banned police officers from mounting road blocks and illegal stop and search . Now this one is describing how they illegally flag down vehicles . In order to complicate the case he’s saying the vehicle has no number plates ; which I know will be debunked when the husband or sister of the deceased give their testimonies .

I believe the witness. There's no police officer that will shoot u after you have stopped. I'm not supporting the killing. But the lady contributed to her death. Two police officers stopped u and u continued driving. The third one was probably angry and drunk...and pulled the trigger. Like it all happened fast . He will go in for it. Q. E. D.

It is a clear anti northern agenda this woman faked her death to bring bad name to Arewa people. Her husband and sister should be immediately arrested.
