Ginger and Popsy.

He told me, there might not be work by the time I leave University. So he bought land. Acres of Farm Land for cheap.

I then contemplated.

Plant Gmelina Arborea, then wait for 5 years without taking care of it to cut once, or plant cashew, use money to take care of it for 4 years and run harvest for 50 years.

I went for the hardest.

I feel it is the hardest. The money I use to take care of it till maturity is from Bambiala from Family members.

Have you started harvesting? If so, run the numbers for us

I will do the breakdown by the end of March or before rain starts.

We are in year 4. First harvest.

But for 1Β½ weeks now, we've been getting 3k per tree averagely. Those trees harvested will still sow more fruits and nuts though.

N3k?

How many trees enter 50 acres?

It will produce at full stage at age 7 or 8.

I planted 4.5m by 4.5m.

99 trees on an acre. But the thing is, not all of them survived. 70% survived. 3,000 trees at least.

At full stage, it should give me at least 10-15k per tree, no matter the state of the economy.

But Buhari campaigned for him recently in the Northeast now. undecided
Buhari know Tinubu is very corrupt and a Dictator/Emperor, he clearly didn't want Tinubu to win the Party ticket. Tinubu is not a true Democrat, he doesn't believe in peoples right to choose its leaders. A Tinubu Presidency will be a disaster but politically and Economically, i pray Nigeria don't make the mistake a voting him as President and that Buhari stay true to his promise of allowing Nigerians to freely elect their President.

So N30m per year using N10k per tree at full stage in about 3 to 4 years

Is that profit, Gross Revenue or Net Revenue? ie before or after costs are deducted

How much you been want sell am for japa runs sef?

It should be profit considering I can pay the debts I have incurred on the farm in 3 years time. Used like 7 million in taking care of it.

Was searching for someone that I can lease out to sef. For 1 year, and thee person will give me 10 million naira.

The picture shown was me last year, at the desperation of my Japa fever. grin grin. The guy I message didn't reply. Second picture is to show you date.

I was tired and desperate that last year. But unfortunately for me, na embassy USA send me come house. grin

Japa talks aside, you are sitting on Fixed income there. Another 50 acres join sef

What of harvesting, processing and transportation (operational) cost? is it deducted from that N10k wey you calculate?

Typically a business with proven and stable cash flows in a stable economic environment can be valued at 7 times EBITDA (Operating profit). So the value of that 50 acres is N210m at maturity if N30m is the proven annual EBITDA. You also have another 50 acres coming to maturity in another 6 years. The only caveat with such a valuation as applies to Nigeria is the stability of the Naira.

As cashew is a cash crop, if you can lock into the international market, you can stabilise your cash flows regardless what Naira is doing. On my travels to Gambia, I met a British-Jamaican guy called Bonga whose work is adding value to cashew. He doesn't own any trees, he pays all the local villagers 10 dalasi per sack of cashew they bring from communal trees, he then hires some niggas from Guinea Bissau to roast and process in his roastery (Cashew business is big in Bissau and Mozambique in Africa) and then he packs about half to a full container of processed cashew to ship to UK per year. He gave me a tour of his roastery, and said that's his main income source. The cheapest cashew you will buy in UK is like Β£6 per kilo in the discount stores, I imagine he will be collecting like Β£2 per kilo, meanwhile average international export price of cashew is like $1.20 per kilo which I'm sure still works out much higher than your yield of N10k per tree.

Without digressing too much, you are sitting on a reliable future cash flow which with development of foreign buyers can yield substantially more.

I think the new set will even survive at 90% because I already learnt my lessons why some didn't survive with the older set.

What of harvesting, processing and transportation (operational) cost? is it deducted from that N10k wey you calculate?

Yes. I have deducted harvesting and transportation cost and then I am transporting to a nearby factory or give a middle man. I am not processing. The stress will choke me. I am been waiting consistently for 5 years.

You are very very correct. But as you indicated, the price of a kg/tonne, keeps dropping. It is not stable. That's the problem about farmers. The price is not stable, then we have the stability of the naira. 600k per tonne in 2017 to 350k per tonne last year. The price dropped, then naira value dropped massively.

Another great angle. The international market. Last year, the farmer got way less than a dollar for a KG even though the dollar was at 500 naira then. 350 naira for a KG. The people at the supply chain (middlemen) make much more profit than we that planted. But, what about if I am the farmer and also the middleman. I need connect. I will look into this. (I can be like your friend and then supply to any western country I Japa to.)

Without digressing too much, you are sitting on a reliable future cash flow which with development of foreign buyers can yield substantially more.

I have a dream of working 4 months in a year and chill for the remaining 8 months. But I am super scared of Nigeria. Nigeria can happen to anyone, and you will think you figured it out when you have not even started.

If not that Cows can't eat Cashew because of its acidity, they would have destroyed my crops like they did my maize. I just had to stop planting maize.

Last Year, the cashew had small harvest, I couldn't enter farm/bush o. People no even follow me go the farm. Make Herdsmen and Bandit no carry us go where I no know. (That last year was that Igboho's time. It was fire for fire.) I stay for my Lagos. Because where I wan see 50m ransom.

I just mad small this year, I suppose no go. But I don dey on for like 1Β½ weeks now.

How can I have something, and I can't access it because of insecurity?

Reason I want to run away before them nab me, and I find myself begging European league section guys for ransom.

You gonna make lots of money with your cashew business. I have secured 4 acres of land for tomatoes farming - exportable tomatoes not the common ones in Nigeria Markets. πŸ…πŸ…πŸ…

.... at the moment, I have no idea, but I am getting a Veteran to mentoring me soon. I think it takes just 3 months to grow and harvest. I am referring to the type I attached.

..... and from my Research so far, its highly sought for exportation in Nigeria.
