What snake is this? It sure looks to me like the very venomous king cobra.

Some snakes lives underground then follow pipes to toilet bowl amd come out

The pipes are not rough inside so the snake can crawl up smoothly inside the pipe

If you left the door open during the heat, yes. Otherwise, they mostly enter through cracks in the plumbings or via central sewers in places with them like Abuja.

That is a west African Forest Cobra, it's black in colour and they are long, fast and deadly. Plant lemon grass inside and outside your compound and you will never see anyone of them again.

This snake is very powerful and strong. I saw one in Ikwo, Ebonyi State last year and despite running it over with a bike, it didn't stop but kept bouncing into the forest.

Some of them still exist in some rural area and still treat snakebites successfully. Barely. We must acknowledge that African medicine is mostly endangered. The problem is that Africans throw away their culture for the whiteman's yet incapable of delivering the whitemans version. In other words, there are almost no Africans left. We are now a mixed bag of confused race. Neither Africans or Europeans due to our messed psyche.

It is better to catch, milk and store a venomous snake than to kill it...the venom will help in producing antivenin shots that can potentially save a life. But why not just kill the snakes instead of storing them? The problem with that is you cannot kill off all the venomous snakes in a place, they have survived for thousands of years alongside man for a reason., and that is because they are good at hiding and adapting. A cobra bite gives you 40 minutes to one hour window to get a shot. But how many health centres have antivenom shots for cobra bites in Nigeria?

What you have in Africa is the forest cobra. It can grow to 6 feet length. That's an impressive size but still isn't a king cobra.
